I'm warming up to the idea of using a high pick on a slot type player. Who's the consensus, the tougher more physical Jaxson Smith-Njigba or the flashy Zay Flowers. I like both a lot just totally different playing styles and both easily would pay dividends here.

The first 2 maybe 3 picks should be defense.  Unless a top 10 offensive guy falls to the late 1st or early 2nd.

They can find a Guard in the later rounds to help replace Seamulo if he does go elsewhere.

I know some want Bijan Robinson but they might be able to pick up a good RB in FA.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

The Chiefs' defense at least made us work a bit. How many third downs did we have? We couldn't even get the Chiefs into third down.

They did. But our guys were just better. His game plan was kind of dumb, but Patrick Mahomes bailed him out.

It’s a massive assumption that a mistake that was made in the first place.  The fact that a world class Eagles training staff, partnered with a top 10 national orthopedic program, partnered with the worlds foremost sports orthopedic surgeon were all independently involved…Im going to assume they had a reason to not repair the meniscus, as they already articulated in their arguments.

And…it’s a meniscus that wasn’t repaired.  43m is an order of magnitude more than what is awarded in wrongful DEATH lawsuits.

Yes, it was a shameful cash grab by a parasite who was a lousy safety.

Yeah they hand out $43M based on assumptions all the time

What's up wiht this very angry take towards Marigois?  The doctor might have been the top orthopedic surgeon but that doesn't mean he is immune from doing any wrong.

Over 1500 pages and the post season is over now, so this thread will be retired soon and a new one opened.

I listened to Birds with Friends, I listened to WIP today. I heard "In the end, the Eagles got beat by an amazing QB" repeated often.

Am I the only one who didn't think Mahomes was amazing last night? He threw to wide open WRs all game long. He didn't need to be amazing. Hurts almost doubled him up in passing yards.

To me that's why last night's game was so maddening. Because it wasn't a Jordan esque Mahomes performance. It wasn't like he threw for 450 yards and was threading dimes between 3 defenders 40 yards down field. He had one of the easiest passing tests of his career.

He’s not leaving. They gave him a big contract to stay.

Looks like the Colts beat reporters are saying Steichen being hired is basically a done deal.  I was wondering why no announcement yet, but:

1)  They're not going to announce anything until Steichen signs and leaves a kidney as collateral after the Josh McDaniels fiasco

2)  Not sure if Irsay is conscious today

The Chiefs were a lucky, flukey unforced fumble away from being absolutely embarrassed on defense.

F....that's what pisses me off the most. They were about to rip their damn hearts out and if Hurts didn't crap the bed there that entire game may have had a different flow to it. I'm so impressed by Hurts and f'ing pissed off as hell at him at the same damn time. You throw a pick and it's not ideal but you go down swinging. He just handed them the damn game with a fumble, and yeah, he gets respect for not being shaken and having his best game ever after....but after is too late at the same time.

My mindset going into the combine: if Howie can somehow, someway get Jalen Carter, then make that deal with the devil. Trade both 1’s, sell your kidney, whatever it takes. Couple teams trade into the top 5 for QBs and suddenly he may be available at 5 or 6. We may be able to swing that for 10th overall and NO’s 2024 2nd. I think the drop off in talent for this draft is severe. Not only after Jalen and Will, but a Lot of people saying they’re struggling to find 18 guys with first round grades.

If that’s not possible, then just do whatever. Trade both picks, combined them for some megadeal, whatever. Though I do like Brian Branch and it’d be sweet if he and CJGJ were our 2023 safeties.

Jalen or wing it

He seems highly overrated.

Can we get a redo on the Super Bowl first?

Yeah, Reid and Co. absolutely pantsed Gannon. But Mahomes was still amazing. He just didn’t miss. Even that deep ball incompletion to MVS was a great ball. MVS just forgot how to play WR for a second.

Agreed. Mahomes didn't have to do a ton in the game. His scrambles to keep drives alive were good but he barely had to do anything in the passing game.

Yeah, word is they gave him a HC in waiting promise.

To me, the most frustrating thing was his damn scrambles.  He moved so slow and the Eagles that had any shot at him seemed to be stuck in the mud for some reason.  Lke they were scared to hit him.  I didn't understand it one but.

He wasn't amazing by any means but he was in his groove making every pass he needed to.  Eagles made it easy for him by not covering anyone though.

Eagles offense had to work a lot harder for it. Mahomes had wide open receivers all day long. Hurts was making amazing throws to guys who were covered. Eagles were 2nd and long all day long, while the Chiefs were gashing us for 4 or 5 yards on first down constantly.

Minus the baffling fumble, Hurts was amazing. He put this offense on his back with zero help from the running game. Mahomes had it easy. The running game was working for KC. Receivers were wide open. The KC defense clearly made the Eagles work harder than the Eagles D made the KC offense work for it.

Agree completely

I didn't think Mahomes did anything special at all. The Chiefs would have scored 31+ with Kirk Cousins. Receivers were wide open all day.

Draft is a giant crapshoot. Play the probabilities. Top 5-6 players pan out much more often than guys in the 10-15 range

Yea, I honestly don't see it one bit with Jalen Carter.  I know every talking head out there has him as the #1 prospect and I'm just a fan of the game but I'm missing what they are seeing.  Howie traded up for one UGA DT already and the return is questionable.

I'm working on it, But Jerry Jones is being a jerk about it.

If Cousins were the QB we would have actually cared about their run game.

I think the slick turf made it hard to stop and go so they were slower to react.

That's what I'm actually wondering about more than the Bradberry call. Would this game have been different if the field was a normal field and not so slippery?

We'll never know, and I hate lamenting what if's.

That would be fine if they didn't need a CB, RT, G, two LB, 3 DT, RB, and maybe a safety. They had the most sacks in the league and not one of them was a top 5 pick. They need playmakers, but they need players to field a team, especially after Hurts gets extended. You trade back if anything.

Sure is.  That said... Carter still remains a guy that seems overhyped.

If Hill was still there it would have been worse.
