Even if Wembanyama qualifies for the escalator by making an All-NBA team or winning Defensive Player of the Year, he has given up the opportunity for the higher value contract.By comparison, Wembanyama will earn $43.5 million in the first season of his contract compared to $52.2 million had he signed for the 30 percent max. July 11Jul 11 6ers won in OT. I didn't see this one. At knoebels. Philon looks like he had a similar game. 6bassists is nice. 9/22 shooting, not ideal. Inefficient for a guy you want to be a 6th man type microwave scorer at least early in his career.Big Fish missed all 4 3pt attempts unfortunately but I still think he's worth developing. Broome had another nice scoring and rebounding game but it looks like the team wanted him to show he can hit 3s and he definitely can not. Waste.
July 12Jul 12 Philon highlights.The good looks so good. He should be a legit scorer.But we need efficiency.With Maxey, Brown, VJ, and Simons we dont have enough shots for an inefficient chucker. Otherwise, youd rather see any of those other guys taking more shots. Maybe with better players around him, he just keeps getting open 3s like VJ got so many of last year. He could look more efficient on the actual 6ers team.
