Four NFC teams are showing "healthy interest " in signing Isaiah Rodgers. Dang this stinks. Was really hoping we could retain him. I thought he was a RFA to begin with. So things just been steady going downhill on the news front with him. Two of the NFC interested teams are in our division.
On the positive front…at least four NFC teams having a bidding war should drive up the price…in turn providing us with a better compensatory draft pick in 2026. Could get a fifth rounder maybe even out of it.

How do they know this ?   Remember nobody is talking to agents....lol

The legal negotiation period for free agents begins Monday at noon and teams can officially start signing free agents on March 12.

Whatever the official league rules stating this actually mean, No Mas

The exact opposite of what my opinion has always been

Are you guys still arguing about tampering

If we retain Sweat let’s say. Not only do we have to pay him big bucks…but we won’t get that third round comp pick. You could easily see this as essentially being us having to trade…for our own player. If you can wrap your head around this logic.

3rd round?  Maybe...I'm thinking 4th.  But anyway... we should have potential comp picks for...Sweat, Williams, Becton, Rodgers, Fred Johnson,  Gainwell....if I'm not missing anyone else?   We can only get 4.  So that 6 right there, we can resign a couple of our guys and still get the max comp picks!

Right... has always been going on.  They always talk to AGENTS

Wonder if Howie will talk directly to a player this year?  Maybe the league makes a stink about it....everybody does it. ..but we could lose a pick if teams complain enough. 🤦🤦🤦

Everyone knows they talk to agents before hand... lol.

Like how hard will it be to trade away our 2026 third rounder? Makes it much easier to swallow if you know we are going to gain those comp picks. On and on..,down this different scenario thinking….

Who do you expect to earn us a 3rd round draft pick....guaranteed that round?

It’s been going on my whole life…not sure how No Mas didn’t notice

Some have him as the number one FA…unlike Gainwell probably like a 7th round comp return

Is what my point was exactly…they always do…yet legally you can’t do it until tomorrow afternoon.

So again... if we sign a free agent that is at a 7th round level... to replace Sweat... what happens?

I don’t even really know what No MAs is arguing about with it? Pretty obvious it goes on all the time…by every team.

Yeah…for a guy who’s what..,0-7 in OT? But he puts up all the big stats many gobble up like it makes you some version of a champion.

I wonder if any of these teams will talk directly to any players before Wednesday?  You would think due to Cousins last year,  nobody should are that mistake.

I was talking about trading our earned 2026 draft pick…since we don’t know officially what comp picks we earned yet..can’t trade something you don’t officially have yet.

I know you are looking to troll and find some nitpick is your only goal here…but my point being…we’ll have more draft ammo in 2026 than just our normal earned picks. Have Jets 3rd and will get extra comp picks. So easier to take the hit trading away a 2026 draft pick knowing this.

I agree...teams talk to AGENTS all the time....agree 💯.   Always agreed with that!  Never said otherwise..

Just stated that not every team is ...stupid,  dumb, idiotic ...enough to talk directly to players before Wednesday... because that is tampering.

BG was saying we can sign guys for 2025... but you were saying it would for sure cost us comp picks.  .I'm pointing out that we should be able to sign a couple free agents and still get all 4 comp picks.

Even if we get the top 3 comp picks... you would think that wouldn't prevent a signing that would cost us the 4th comp pick if it is a player we truly want.

Each free agent gained can cancel out a free agent loss of equal or higher value, effectively neutralizing the potential compensatory pic
