The league could not " deem" thar the Eagles spoke directly to Barkley without 100% concrete proof.

The league had that proof of Cousins speaking directly to the Falcons trainer.

What concrete proof have they punished all these players for crimes they were acquited or the charges dropped with? also happens all the time

Not even close to the discussion of Howie speaking directly to Barkley.

Your discussion with yourself is about? I don’t know

The conversation in a nutshell:

me…don’t care everybody does it.

you: on and on and on for over a year arguing with yourself

Me: this is the specific illegal activity that the Eagles were being investigated for

You:  talking about a completely different activity

Did the players lose picks?

You don't much....not even knowing that a player that gets cut doesn't count vs the comp pick formula.

That's basic

Yeah I wouldn’t think it was super common knowledge whether players cut becoming FAs counts against the comp pick formula. It’s pretty deep dive stuff there. They weren’t even releasing what the comp pick formula was forever. Everybody was just guessing by taking the results and trying to apply them.
I just saw in the rules that UFAs count towards the formula…didn’t see any additional lines about any differing details. But like I said it’s something I’d need to look into further.

Just basic…super deep dive about rules that weren’t even being released until recently…not just the basic about that even…but a specific minute detail…within the hidden formula.

Ohhhh Football Gods strike me down…I’m not worthy!

WR Luther Burden III from Missouri...

I see that on NFL network as our pick at 32.

Anyone agree with that 😆😆😆

compensatory free agent” picks, which allow clubs that have lost free agents to another team to use the draft to try to fill the void. The awarded picks take place at the end of the third through seventh round.

Compensatory free agents are determined by a proprietary formula, developed by the NFL Management Council, which considers a player’s salary, playing time and postseason honors.

The value of the compensatory free agents gained or lost by each team is totaled, and a team is awarded picks of equal value to the net loss of compensatory free agents, up to a maximum of four.

Lol...no it's not... the comp pick was brought up to help teams that kept losing free agents.

You can't cut a guy in order to get a comp pick!!!

Then why would you see these trades for late round picks???   Teams could cut players,  get the bidding war and then get a higher pick.

You can’t cut a guy to get a comp pick. (Nobody said you could)But then they become UFA. The team signing them would be signing an UFA…which counts against the comp pick formula…unless there is some minute specific detailed part of the rule stating exactly that doesn’t count.

Lol... wrong!   Any players that count towards the comp pick formula have to count vs both sides of the equation.

Come on now... please tell me you are joking!

Erby I respect as a journalist. So…if he’s all about a guy being cut doesn’t count…then he’s probably correct.

But if I told you tomorrow is Monday...or 1 + 1 = 2....you have to argue for hours!

It’s not basic at all to track some of these rules down. I know plenty of us..(you and I includedNo Mas)believed Isaiah Rodgers was going to be restricted FA instead of unrestricted. We were wrong. Not an area I can think of more than concerning compensatory picks has the league tried to cloud process more with.

Actually I stated it’s something I need to look into more with before you ever even arrived to start trying to argue with yourself about Rosie being investigated.

1994 comp picks were introduced. As the league went into the salary cap era, they knew teams were going to lose free agents.

This was done to offset that.

30 years and you still don't know this basic aspect???

Come on... stop pulling my leg here.

But if you, Erby and FL are convinced that’s the way it is….then I’m sure BG, Mysrlf, DWD ..who ever appreciates learning about this. It’s obviously a huge piece of what’s going on with our team this offseason,

The formula used to award compensatory draft picks, developed by the NFL Management Council, had never been publicly revealed until the passage of the 2020 Collective Agreement.

Right....the exact formula to predict the rounds of the picks.  But it's basic to know a cut player isn't in the comp pick formula...it's for players whose contracts run out!!

Super basic man…like right after knowing ten yards equals a first down and a TD equals 6 points…very next basic nfl rule is: a cut player doesn’t count in the comp pick formula…how dare I call myself a football fan

Are you " stealing " a team's own free agent by outbidding them?

Not if they cut that guy.... so why should you be penalized for it?

The comp pick basic

You get rewarded for any free agent you lose to another team that out bids you.... you get penalized for out bidding a team on their own FA.

Anyone cut obviously doesn't count, because the original team was never out bid!
