So don’t need to force anything to make it happen. Not just one guy to try and rely on basing this plan around. Plenty of quality options. It’s there for the taking.TE class none of them are really blockers. Not the TE's we want unless we change the offense. The best had a PFF blocker rating of 61 and that's awful(and he was the best). Even the top ranked one can't block worth crap, this will all need to be taught, so no sense going high on one because zero of them will start unless we go to the pass happy offense
April 16, 20251 yr Author Arroyo is the best fit, round 2,but he's going to have to work hard on his blocking to be TE1. They all need work on blocking,so I would take a late one with potential, but I disagree this is a good TE class. They are being used in college now as offensive weapons, so blocking skills are not being taught. I'm sure Howie won't waste a 2 pick on a developmental TE unless he is certain he can be TE1 in a year
April 16, 20251 yr Author Sirianni was asked what he looks for in a tight end, and the coach mentioned plenty of traits before boiling it down to a few things.bestmoney.comTop 10 Home Equity LoansAd"Always looking for a guy that can make plays with the ball in his hand and be able to have the ability, first of all, to be a factor in the run game and helping you out in the run game,” he said, "which is one of the harder matchups in the NFL – a defensive end vs. a tight end, and there’s other ways around that, but not a liability in the run game also.” AKA I like blocking TE's and there aren't any in this draft that are superior blockers, they all need to be taught
April 16, 20251 yr Author So ,in conclusion, seeing as are a run based offense, unless there is a major offensive shift AWAY from that, there are no useful blocking TE's in this draft. It's a great TE draft if you want a big WR to play that spot, but as run blockers they are all TERRIBLE. I'm not saying we don't take one, but you take one with the knowledge they are not going to even TRY for the TE1 for a year or more. If this is the TE's they are now churning out of college, our staff needs to be ready to hammer them with blocking drills until they are sick of it. IDK if it's just this class or if this a trend in college football. If it's the latter and that's how it will be then we'll take one, but unlike WR's who are coming out NFL ready, TE's have a long way to go
April 16, 20251 yr Author Here is the kid we need in NEXT years draft(2026) https://nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Kenyon-Sadiq-TE-Oregon Not huge sample, but we'll see what he can do this year in Oregon
April 16, 20251 yr Author I have to admit taking Egbuka at 32 would be intriguing. But I still feel Howie will re stack the lines first. Egg should be a top slot somewhere with a pass oriented QB

I completely believe he was accepting of these losses and changes. Because he was aware of the strength of this 2025 draft class. Not just a couple of months ago. He’s always gathering intel to understand this a couple years in advance.Did you understand that Reddick wasn't long term? You had to argue for a year about it.

Howie tries not to draft for need so DT could be the pick because of all those we lost at the position. I have no clue what Howie will do, but he will do whatever to get his guy. I think they have their eyes on the SMU guy Elijah Roberts. After a DT and edge, he could be a nice 5th round prospect DL if given some time to develop which fits right into Joe's theory that "we may take more than 1"(DT/edge. I think he could play either)

I've seen guys on one site at 20 and a late 3rd or early 4th in another. Most years there is some concensus but this year is wild. Even the 1st rd is a dart board.

Usually that number is around 15 LOL. SO after 5 it's more of a crapshoot than usual. We have a pretty good scout team, so we will wait for others to muff their picks LOL. We always find guys no one has heard of(I mean really did you hear the name Jalyx Hunt last draft?) He was on the map as a 6-7th. The scout dept really is the unheralded ,yet major piece of this organization. They need to mention these guys post draft like "Yeah Dave had this guy nailed". Howie may make the picks but someone has to get the board going for approval. I would love to understand/see that part of the process
April 17, 20251 yr Author Kind of weird that after round 5 we have no picks. Usually we are good at picking up UDFA's,so during rounds 6 and 7 we will have extra time to hit the phones as these players fall off other teams radar. "If you aren't selected in round 7 ,how about coming to Philly?"
April 17, 20251 yr We’ve brought in four or five Slot CBs for top 30 visits. Just no way around the positional pay discrepancy forcing our hand. DeJean has to move outside. Stinks….but it’s just too much of an ask of DeJean for team benefit. Half the pay….just isn’t within any realms of being negotiable something to work out.

I would love to be on the scout team(I'd do this for nothing except expenses). I know the buzz is around RB Blue, but you and I both want Mullings in here. Could be a nice RB 4 for now who could work into he 3 spot(not to be confused with the G spot HAHA)

I'm sure we take a CB at some point, but Howie will never let the lines to go hell. Every young guy has to make his move and Ringo needs to make his. The round 4 CB from Cal is being under rated. He has skills. I saw a mock where we got Hairston(KY). Great fit for us,but Howie won't let the lines go to ish

Not everything is strictly blocking for the RB. If a TE commands attention then he demands that a defender has to respect that and not just be run focused. TE position pulls an insider defender in pass coverage. Can even command an eye and ‘read’ of a S also.

Our offense demands that they can block and none of these fit that profile. I already posted a nice TE(or one to watch) for the '26 draft, he has the opposite problem great blocker but no downfield opportunities, so I want to see that blossom for him first. he already has the blocking skills others lack

No sense wasting a high pick on one right now. get that kid next year. Arroyo is the best TE fit, but not sure he has the skills needed going forward. We are a running team, so the lines are the priority. I just hope we don't waste a pick on a TE high. We already have a ton to sort through
