Give any reason looking at ACTUAL NFL players contracts you could believe any Slot CB’s value is near equal to outside CBs at the top end pay.

The 24th highest paid CB makes $12 mil pet

So think about that... 32 teams... if no team has 2 of the too 24...that means 8 teams don't have a CB paid 12 mil

Slay is making $10 mil

So again... why do you think a top slot CB wouldn't get paid more than an average outside guy?

24 total CBs get paid 12 mil or more. So that top slot guy getting paid way more than the average CB.

And here is another point of view...

32 teams.... 32 # 1 CBs.... the 32nd highest paid CB= $8.5 mil

32 teams × 3 CBs if you count slot guys as starters. 96 starters...halfway there is 48.

The 48th highest paid CB makes $3.5 mil

Half of the starting NFL CBs ...make less than $3.5 mil

So... why would Dejean think he could make more if he moved outside? And say he was seen as the best slot CB... and say 25th best outside guy which is still above average and a #1 outside CB within a 32 team league?

You don't think it's way more probable that he gets paid more money by continuing to dominate where he is?

See when you just focus on 30 mil and 13 mil.... you miss the big picture. You do this alot though, you obsess about " highest paid this or that" " highest paid non QB" Carter will get $50 million...as a DT?

You miss paying Cam the legit money because you just see $18 mil from Humphrey. It's not always about " highest paid at each position or setting the market "

Watch how the Eagles do things, even when they pay a guy top money and set the market....it never lasts. DeJean will get paid very well if he continues to do his thing. I wouldn't worry about it.

I even considered the extreme of Rosie trying to get ahead of this issue…by practically guaranteeing a player that’s only played one season he’ll already agree to signing him to top of the market extension. Which is pretty insane to even think about. But even having Rosie go so extreme to make DeJean feel safe about his positional value not going to play a factor in negotiations doesn’t work. Because that is only one team. It would leave him no other options.

And that's great... Dejean and Fangio are in a room. You think all that matters is DeJean's opinion? Explain that?

You think one of two things then..

First.. Fangio would move DeJean because that's what DeJean wants?

Or .... DeJean won't resign with the Eagles because another team will play him outside and give him more money?

For you to bring this up....one of these two things has to occur. Otherwise what else..DeJean throws a temper tantrum because he remains in the slot?

Explain what you think will happen. It really seems like you think Fangio will not make the decision? You seem confident in that.. Otherwise what are you trying to say?

Can’t see how DeJean would consider being accepting of any of this. I don’t see him ever doubting himself.

Who are the " slot guys" you would consider as good of an impact player as DeJean?

Talk to any agent and try and convince them position has no baring on pay.

What reason would any Slot CB believe he can earn as much as outside CB?

Fangio I wouldn’t see doing that to DeJean. He clearly stated he’d like to keep DeJean in the Slot. But for you to even try to ignore players have any power and say is foolhearty.

Vic has already made his case of wanting DeJean in the Slot.

Nothing believable of a reason DeJean accept the lesser Slot role when he knows he can play wherever.

Q is lined up to sign for 3 year 90 mil if we weren’t even looking towards inflation. But you really don’t see DeJean being happy earning half?

Simple answer for why DeJean would believe he’d make more playing outside is because it’s exactly the way the entire league has paid the differing positions.

Do you really believe there is any possible way Q and DeJean don’t feel their elite? These guys are oozing confidence.

He's not close to the best, please. If he was he would be a round 1 lock. teams aren't stupid. I can find any link to say this guy or that guy is the best, means nothing. In a new LIMITED passing game,TE is back burner to the successful run game, so there is NO reason to waste a high pick. Mason Taylor is much better at garnering yards, but he can't block either, so unless you commit to the passing game, there is no reason to load up an already full room. Do you have highlights of all the other guys we got in???? I don't, So I will assume they saw things they liked or they would not have been offered contracts. There are no "Gronks" in this draft

Things aren’t so dead set fixed like that. Trade value charts are simply for guideline purposes. Not like there is even just one trade chart universally accepted which further just proves the fluidity trade guidelines adhere to. QBs and elite players every GM is willing to pay a higher cost to acquire.

Every draft is unique. Failing to acknowledge this simple obvious fact will clearly blind anybody to reality. The 2025 draft class is weak on elite prospects. My take on this class is there is an abundance of decent prospects. That’s this draft class overall strength of the field.

Just like how you were high on an Edge player. I wasn’t impressed with. I easily could pull up several day three Edge players that were so very comparable.

SO if they are comparable, then mine was acceptable. I don't need or care if you are impressed or not. The only players you are impressed with are your own

Yeah that is a result of how I’m predicting the players to come off the board. My Edge player I like…is the guy actually believing would be available as a choice at 32. Thinking there are three DT options we are targeting. One player hoping to fall…isn’t much of a plan…it’s a dream. Having three players at the same position you are expecting to still be available at pick 20…means at least one has to fall into our reasonable trade range.

I asked you to make ONE choice of who we picked first. You can trade up or down, I don't CARE, but you can't make ONE pick LOL. You have 12 "what ifs". We can all do that too. I was trying to have a little fun and since you love calling it, make ONE pick. I don't care if you think we trade up to10 or drop back to 55. WHO is your first pick???

We are the very last pick of each round. So be mindful to not just lump everything the same by round number label. Giants second round pick at pick 35 is a whole other world than our second round pick at 64.

Why do you feel you need to explain what I already know? Howie will move around alot as he always does, but all we can do is go by the given numbers

Price to pay of being the best the previous season. Draft positioning completely blows. Whoever is still on the board at 32 isn’t even close to comparable to Abdul Carter.

League parity, then you have the R8cist comp picks to boot. So degrading.

Let’s not just try to act like it would be selfish for any person to wish to capitalize on making so much more pay in their career:

Let's not try to act like players like their teammates and the house they live in and some are willing to take LESS to stay. Being young as he is, I'm sure he is thrilled with the money he is making compared to farm work in Iowa. When it's time,Howie will pay him,why are you worried about this now?

I believe DeJean is the slot CB. I believe his value is in his ability to make plays from there...and to cover the key player...like Kelce, Chase or Henry. And that ability to move around to cover different positions is the best value he brings.

Was more value than Slay...and Slay you could argue was average ..not " suck" on the outside.

GOD that's IT!!!! Barkley can start at RG

Howie has a board ranked, not by other sites, by his OWN andhe will move to get his guys If he feels a TE on his board is worth it ,he will go get him or let one fall in his lap. I never said HOWIE won't take a TE or WR, all I said was I would not and I'm sure Howie doesn't care what either of us think. Just seems to me there would be no point to all the effort put in to bring in the guys we brought in. They are cheap, but that's doesn't mean they can't play . We resurrect guys careers, why not at TE? Goedert did little when we had Ertz as the #1. So one might emerge, we don't know yet, but one thing I DO know is Howie will keep the lines up and A)Goedert is still here until we hear otherwise and B) with all the linemen we lost, Howie is not going to sit idly by. We still don't know who the starting RG is. It's all CONJECTURE until someone proves they are it for the long term. According to one site only 5 guys are considered "Will start." Normally this is around 15, so that tells you this class is weak(according to THEM). We need players that FIT,not just go off a rank list. At TE Arroyo is the best FIT. Not my personal fav or yours, but he may be Howies. You know a guy like Egbuka would finish the WR corps too LOL. Much more value than ANY of these TE's, but once again is a slot WR worth the draft capital to get 2 targets per game? I personally say no,

but Howie may want to complete that puzzle piece. I just don't see him giving up a lineman to do it

If Hurts was passing 45 times a game I may see things differently, but the passing game is now the icing and the cake is Barkley and that's not changing for at least 2 more seasons. We got Dillon and Shipley to hopefully keep some tread on his tires so we can resign him again. It won us a SB, yet you want change. IDK why until our running game is defeated.

Because it was just made very clear by the Texans paying each top dollar setting the market

You have to keep evolving or you are going backwards in the NFL. Heard so many great coaches this phrase.z

Teams are studying us big time with the target on our backs.

Game plans are being developed on how to deal with us. Each team that proves any things that work will be mirrored and copied.
