April 17, 20251 yr Attempt to break it down: plenty of teams are looking to trade up for elite prospects. When teams don’t have anybody sticking out with their scouting grades? Those GMs are looking to trade back. GMs identifying a wish to trade back? They do so looking for an offer. Any GM that isn’t just looking to trade back you’d have to pay enough to convince them they can’t refuse your trade offer.

So be mindful to not just lump everything the same by round number label. Giants second round pick at pick 35 is a whole other world than our second round pick at 64.
April 17, 20251 yr Price to pay of being the best the previous season. Draft positioning completely blows. Whoever is still on the board at 32 isn’t even close to comparable to Abdul Carter.

What would he get paid?On the other hand he moves outside and turns out to be average there. What could he get paid?I don't agree with Ham's logic. It's like saying Dickerson would want to move from Guard to Tackle because he could make more if he was the top tackle.Moving to a more expensive position doesn't necessarily translate to more pay. If you excel at one spot that is your value. Unless one thinks Dejean would be as good on the outside, then he won't make more money moving outside.I do think you need multiple slot CBs,so not surprising that we could draft one.You have some tidbit of a decent point to be made in all of this. Moving to a position that pays more can only be obtained by being capable of playing that other position at a high level also. So your point of if you suck at the alternate higher paying position it won’t result in the huge payday gain. Your first main flaw is the whole thing only revolves around what the player himself believes he can do. Whether that player actually can perform the switch isn’t relevant. That’s really all your point is making. You’re saying if the guy isn’t as good as he believes the results won’t payoff. Which isn’t even a factor. All that matters is whether the player believes he can. Which almost every player thinks much higher of themselves than reality.
April 17, 20251 yr So does it actually matter whether DeJean can play outside at the same high level? It doesn’t.
April 17, 20251 yr DeJean has always been touted as being very versatile. Not even just his own ego forcing things. The only question that really matters is does DeJean believe he can play outside at a high level? I don’t even have any doubts the answer is he absolutely believes he can play outside just as well.
April 17, 20251 yr Only reasoning that could matter is if anybody actually believes DeJean himself doubts his ability to transition outside.

What is your plan to "adapt and grow" when you don't know what the teams/opponents even look like yet? Developing players is an annual event for every team. That is your consistent fact. LOL, YES we ADAPTED to their plan to stack the box on Barkley. We adapted and developed well after last years bye. That is the goal every year. You can state this every year like the "we need to do better loop". But really Siri needs fired, he sucks and should be replaced 🤣My theoretical words are widely understood NFL historical fact

We don't need yet another TE to sort through, especially when they are all mediocre. Even the top TE from PSU is not what we need. None of these TE's were taught how to block. Could be if other teams make TE picks we can find one turned loose, but he would have to be a proven. I don't see the "strong possibility." It's as possible as anything else, but Goedert is still here and until that changes (maybe DURING the draft) then I can't see making this investment. Round 1 or 2 you need to justify, so Goedert would need to go for this to be viable, which I admit they didn't argue against. Everything is for sale if the price is right. But just as a flat out high pick choice, when we have other needs, doesn't make much sense A CB here would make MUCH more sense, or an edge or DT if edge is the 1 pick. IMO TE is a back burner for now. Even a WR would be a better choice in my view(but think that's back burner also)I’ve been suggesting a WR could be put to better use by us

Also points out to where everything is an extreme with you...you need to live in a fictional story type world of extreme...not the reality that things don't work that way.Really doesn't matter what the player thinks.... you should realize that after witnessing both Reddick and Milton this year. Reddick believed he was some elite level player .. the ENTIRE NFL did not. So he wasn't offered elite money. Milton on the other hand had a desperate organization like the Patriots pay him elite level money without any history of elite level play.. but they are paying due to potential. Do you believe Milton's agent thought this whole time he would get elite $$? Another point about Dejean and slot CB. There is nothing that says DeJean couldn't change the market and get the slot CB position moved up in pay.You see it with Humphrey at C. Paid significantly more than the 2nd highest C. Again... it's the offseason and the mind can wander.... which we know isn't difficult for some on here.

You could put him at RG and he will give you all he has. During his injury he studied HUGE amounts of hours. I mean excessive amounts because he wants to be on this team(or any team that drafted him). I hope he won't become a ruined prima donna. Right now he is glad to play.. ANYWHERE. He is on his rook contract as is Q, so in a way is was not too good to draft them 1/2,yet we have the 5th year option on Q so Howie can work his deals. I see no reason we can't keep them happy monetarily for at least another contract. I was thrilled with his SB performance(still replay his pick 6). Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. We know Howie will pay those that perform at a high level no matter where(see Baun) and they should be paid. Of course this time Howie/Lurie had to pick and choose who to retain. Very tough call. But guys like Reddick Howie knew were not good for this team. I think after the SB, DeJean found his niche. he could play out if the need arose, but he seems settled in where he is and I see no reason to change what works. I don't think Fangio will eitherLet’s not just try to act like it would be selfish for any person to wish to capitalize on making so much more pay in their career:
April 17, 20251 yr DeJean will have a value that is very easily defined.... it's the highest amount that any team is willing to pay.But.... let's wager right now. What position do you feel DeJean will play next year? Or the year after? Making these posts... just say that you are calling it now...that DeJean will move outside.... and it's a lock.Otherwise.. it sounds like more hot air.

Asking players to do some smaller things for the team not fitting completely with self interest…isn’t what this situation is about. This is just basic for every person regardless of playing football.

April 17, 20251 yr I believe DeJean is the slot CB. I believe his value is in his ability to make plays from there...and to cover the key player...like Kelce, Chase or Henry. And that ability to move around to cover different positions is the best value he brings. Was more value than Slay...and Slay you could argue was average ..not " suck" on the outside.
April 17, 20251 yr 3 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said:I’m saying how could he not bemoving outside? So you are not saying anything. You refuse to say that he will move outside. I on the other hand am saying he stays an elite moving part on the defense and does not simply move outside opposite of Mitchell. They want to keep him moving around.

I’m pointing out the easy simple flaw in your logic. If the discussion was only about whether the player actually gets the money he’s looking for? Then what you are talking about would actually ge relevant.
April 17, 20251 yr It isn’t actually even a factor whether DeJean CAN perform and accomplish. Thats a whole other discussion.
