But yeah I’m moving on…No…it was about who are the best two outside CBs. Which may..or may not be DeJean. I’m skeptical. Think he has much to learn to catch up at that position. Plus I like Ringo. He works for me. Big and fast…got some experience. He could have easily have been involved much more this whole time. Got Adoree too.You are skeptical after watching DeJean cover in space... guys like Kupp and Chase ...that he could play outside near a Boundary vs a #2 WR? Kinda like being skeptical of an expert bike rider being able to ride a bike with training wheels?
June 8, 20251 yr Idk...when did football get so complicated? Here is a guy...he is trying to get open... you have to cover him. Yeah but No Mas what about the temperature, the amount if fans in the stadium, the color of the grass, the price of beer, the color of the uniform, the pregame meal, just so much DeJean needs to learn 🤦

The more he will be pushing focus to do so. Easy to hop around positions if you play them all at a high level. But outside is his focus and payday. Essentially the one position he has to be at his best….is his least developed position. Not saying his weakest position yet. Unknown….my belief evaluating draft was…I was questioning can he play outside? Why was this a factor even? Because fans were talking about taking him in the first round. NFL….not just pay…but draft positioning. We took him real high for a Slot. But think you gotta give that up to Rosie and especially Fangio. Fangio I think place big value on his Slot defender in his D. One that’s versatile. Oh….that’s what the D Dr ordered to disguise and switch things up.This is the problem I see with the way you see a problem. What is the Eagles base Defense? Nothing break things down more specific than that. Then we can list all that qualify as football player by salary rank. Why not more pretty irrelevant deep dive into nothing? But at least was a solid attempt since he can only just avoid almost all facts over years stating otherwise.Other issue I have is all two starting CBs. When three CBs start on every team in the league. Percentages of Nickel usage can’t be denied. With Dime next. Probably just part of all that lingering old school thinking. Slot isn’t a starter and isn’t t nearly as valued. Brady did a masterful job displaying the Slot role can play in any O.This was the only post regarding this? Lol

Fangio battling it though. It was your statement…which practically meant absolutely nothing. But alluded to play DeJean over Ringo outside it seemed. Yet DeJean might not be betted than Ringo outside. I’m actually fairly confident right now Ringo is better. Not sure if Fangio has the power to yank DeJean for Ringo full time outside. Only way he can is just don’t call two CB Ds.I can't believe someone would actually out this thought out in public. Knowing it's there forever attached to their name

But yeah..am kind of whining…this situation pissing me off and messing with our team. Just like Tanner should have been number two but we got stuck committed to Pickett as backup. Now feels like we already committed to DeJean gets his snaps outside this season. Fangio/agent agreed upon compromise.Ok...follow along... the Eagles play Nickel 81% of the time. Obviously they also play some dime.... so the 2 CB formation will occur about 7 or 8 snaps per game... DeJean will play outside on those snaps. The rest of the time playing his normal position. Idk why it pisses you off.. because for one, it's not that many snaps...and two, that defensive formation is more to go bigger to stop the run.So taking Ringo out to put in a 3rd LB....to stop the run...why dies that piss you off? You simply like labels too much... " those YAC Creation plays " 21 games last year and Goedert got about 8 screen passes... but you harp on them so much....why do you do it... it's the napkins at a wedding. Stop obsessing over dumb crap that doesn't play a major part of the function of the team.
June 8, 20251 yr Idk...if anyone watches football now and doesn't understand that the slot CB gets more involved in the action than a #2 outside CB covering the 3rd or 4th option in the passing game....then you are missing what's going on out on the field. Much better opportunity to make the big bucks if you are covering the more prominent receivers. The rare case that a team has a high profile #2 WR that overshadows their inside options at TE or slot WR...to where the person covering the #2 will get more visibility. I just can’t see DeJean looking for the easier assignment of the #2 outside as compared to being in the mix showing off his versatility covering Chase, Kupp, Lamb, Henry, Kelce...or whoever the opponent throws out there in the middle of the field.

Many would say that if Howie actually did have that decision responsibility, Baun would never have played off-ball linebacker in 2024.Facts matter. You seem to not understand that fundamental basic reality. You also are a poor listener. When the Opposing Offense comes out in 21 personnel, Fangio is going to pull one of his 5 DBs and go with an additional LB. That football reality prompts the question of "who will be the DB who comes off the field?” In 2024 that DB coming off was DeJean. The question in 2025 is whether that will continue to be DeJean. All of that has NOTHING to do with either Howie or DeJean’s agent. You really need to do better.Correct... I don't see why this isn't obvious? A CB gets pulled off the field... this year they are looking at the option of it being someone else other than DeJean .I don't get why this would " piss anyone off" Some real psychological problems there.

Last year, when Fangio decided to go with only four DBs, who was the logical player to come off? Blankenship? CJGJ? Q? Slay? DeJean? Now with both CJGJ and Slay gone the question has morphed into Blankenship? Unknown? Q? To be determined? DeJean?Ham apparently skipped over that change.

DeJean can be extended in only 2 years time...more pressing than the actual defense this year. But in fairness to Ham...his mind wandered right to Howie making a contract mistake... and where Travis Fulgham was going to cost so much money ...this right after his 2nd or 3rd game. With Ham, he can't enjoy a young player...always looking for a negative. Must be just a joy to be around.

He put extra gym work in daily, watched as many vids as he could get his hands on, learning his craft. It was about the whole town turning out as they all sat and watched the NFL draft on day 1 when he was not selected. The townspeople knew his determination and when the call finally came, tears of joy everywhere. This kid will never stop learning or perfecting himself. He loves this game and as he said "I just want to play, I don't care where or what position, I just want to do what I love" I'm so glad he is an Eagle. Just superb character and work ethic. During his rehab time he didn't just do the rehab, he was back watching vids every chance he had because he wanted to learn what the pros know. If you watch his SB pick 6, you can see his eyes are on Mahomes. Amazing skill level for a rookie and I believe he would succeed anywhere you put him. he keeps working non stop. Along with Q this is going to be a tandem that will make history and wreak havoc for years to come. What a great 1/2 draft punch by Howie. Q is a bit cocky, but he can back it up. DeJean is quiet and silently kicks your ass LOL
