He held by these team building strategies or philosophies for just so long that were flawed. Really wasn’t him with the DBs but Fangio. Rosie really had a great bead on how things will likely play out…like sometimes he’s just way too precise. Q was top CB on Eagles board clearly. Which I take pride in. Sure I take pride in my scouting and evaluations picking out a lockdown stud CB from freakin’ Toledo!!!! Ok…volunteering that was shameless pat on my own back…but c’mon…

And kudos to Howe for listening to him. We gave Schwartz CRAP and expected miracles. It was a historical draft by Howie. Many people picked Q out, but as I said historically that wouldn't have been a pick, so those positions were off my board because it never happened before. TD123 had DeJean all the way

It's very difficult to get rookies to make game changing plays their rookie season. Let alone TWO. We've never had a seriously great defense like this. The outstanding job Stoutland does is also amazing. Any decent QB will shine if you give them time to pick you apart. McKee looks excellent, enough so Pickett was no longer needed. I can't say enough about this teams staff from scouts to decisions made at the highest level. It's a machine like no other team has. Luck always helps. If it's not there you have to make your own. First 4 games should be epic. The SB goes through Philly
June 9, 20251 yr Author I was hoping we'd keep Baun. Just a brilliant play maker out of nowhere. We are a really young team too, so the future is there. We should see other step up, guys like Jaylx. if we added Hendricks, IDK this could get any better
June 9, 20251 yr Author BTW kudos to Hurts. His accuracy just went through the roof this past year after we settled him down and stopped the hero mentality. He is now dropping dimes
June 9, 20251 yr Author I will extend that to the first 5 games. I think Denver will be tougher than many think

They prioritize the positional needs and fill those needs from most important to least important. For instance if you can only have one, but not the other would you choose DT or CB? … Carter or Q? CB or LB? Q or Jihaad? WR or CB? Devonta or Q? OG or CB? Dickerson or DeJean?

Seems to me you mostly just need to get the best player…tends to always work out.

After losing JJ to the Vikes by taking Reagor in that draft, Howie kicked his own arse after the Chip debacle where Howie was relegated to "accountant". Although that was a disaster, it was enough to get Howie moving on his own self betterment. Not a good look to remove Howies power, so Howie got to work to make sure that scenario never came back

At some point in time you have to face reality … or as Howie is doing with his use of void years and Dead Cap bend reality to his will.

Forcing players by so heavily weighting positions doesn’t.
