Part of the blocking strategy is just a bump or shield to let the coverage run bye... now they aren't running.    So it's going to be easy to go track the ball carrier....they are just engaging with the blocker in front of them.  Nobody will be way out of position or be fooled on a hesitation move.

I think the real question is do we see more linemen on this play now.  I mean, I need to create a hole and plug it with power,  not speed.

Returns can be exciting though. They had pretty much eliminated the KO return. This almost insures returns every time. I like it….I think. Should be much more interesting.

But it's not like you are thinking. There is 10 guys across...nobody running out of control to where the return man can just fake them.  It's the return man basically running into a crowd.

They clearly identified the potential harm the high speed collisions can cause. So I can understand the moves they’ve been making and why. ST was mostly made up of the lesser important players. So wasn’t of as large of concern for the no name players getting injured. But I believe this stretches into the PeeWee leagues and so on. Parents very aware of the dangers of concussions playing football. Sport will deteriorate massively if the kids stop playing and developing.

You almost need RB's as opposed to receivers

Yes...even MJK favorite power back types

A man for a man to block. I’m expecting guys to break free kind of like on those short yardage plays. Either he’s consumed with every lane being filled…or…he finds a crease…he’s gone.

I mean do we put Bark back there to receive kick offs??? No high speed collisions but power to break initial tackles

Yes…and you aren’t worried about inside kick needing guys with capable hands

I would not

Yeah...but this will be a easier for the other guys to follow right from the start where the return man is going.

It's great if the one guy makes his block...the other 9 are going to be able to follow the ball better now.

Would have thought Boston Scott would have been our best weapon for this. But he’s not here anymore.

It's going to be like kids soccer...all crowding the ball.

Then he comes back next week.

Barkley probably would be ideal...same with Henry.   But I'm saying here... you are only fighting for a few extra yards.

Unless you bull your way and break tackles

Punch a hole in the line and let the guy behind you run through it. Almost like a lead blocking running play

So hangtime is no longer important? Maybe they form new styles of kicks.

I'm running through the L gap HAHAHA

What about double team blocking and trying to get together forming wedges to open up the return?
