would trade Dalton to TB before I traded them McKee. We're not going to get much for either, but I can't see giving TB a QB that could be a future 2(or 1???) Dalton is on his last legs

If I could get a 3rd or a 4th for McKee bye hell probably due it for a 5th…. Same with Dalton a 6th or 7th rounder

Why would we bench Hurts if we wanted to trade him that only hurts his value in a trade.

Hurts is only good if you have pro bowlers at every position. Who want to trade for a QB who throws under 150 a game? Benching him may increase his value, the more he plays the lower his value goes LOL. The Rams game should have been a QB shoot out, but Hurts forgot to load his gun. 93 yards is pitiful

McKee may have fallen back to earth, but he DID show a flash that he could be a starter. We all saw it and he did that with 2's, so who has a future McKee or Dalton? I'm still thinking we look at Mensah in the next draft. We probably have the draft ammo to get Manning if we wanted to. But regardless of the QB, we're going to need an O line for them, These next few weeks of college games will separate the cream. I can't rule out Sayin either. Probably could get him with no lift at all and who knows what Cole can do. He's never been tested yet

Wentz was coming off injuries and a horrible season and team traded for him…. Bradford was meh and got a trade for him as well.

Reality is if we want to trade Hurts there will be a market for him. Why another team wants him is there decision and reasoning

McKee likely gone regardless at the end of the season his contract is up and we likely won’t resign him image he will want to test the market and get an opportunity to try and play.

Either get value for him now or hope we get a comp pick but either way don’t see him staying in Philly.

But on current not speculation news Kendall has now missed the last 2 practices with a knee injury. Hopefully it’s just a precaution and he is good to play this week.

Be really rough if we have to play a new LG/C/RT all in the same week

Howie would never take the cap hit this year. The time to trade Hurts starts after this year. Yeah Foles, Wentz and Bradford all got traded and went nowhere just like Hurts would do, go nowhere. At least Wentz, Foles and Bradford could pass the ball

Eating 70m in dead cap this year on a losing team what does it hurt? Starts the process of free up money by 2028

Even trading Hurts next year we eating a good chunk of dead money and we carry dead money into 2028

UH, your money to add FA players, extend your keepers, which if you want to rebuild adds to your draft picks. We're 2-2 and we're going to get guys back so I can't call us a losing team at this point. Could lose the new 2-3, but I have no clue how we will do after guys return

Dead Cap Costs by Year

The financial impact of trading Jalen Hurts varies by year.

  • 2026 — The dead cap value is approximately $139.2 million, making it a costly decision for the Eagles.

  • 2027 — The dead cap decreases to around $66.5 million, still a significant burden.

  • 2028 — The dead cap further reduces to about $24.5 million, providing some relief.

  • Contract Structure — Hurts' contract includes a signing bonus that heavily influences the dead cap calculations.

IDK waiting 1 year(2026) cuts the loss by 73 million, that's a substantial savings. TBH Joe would know more than I do about it

I mentioned Williams a couple of days ago. It's a band aid play for sure, but if we rotated him and Bell, it would help Bell some. IDK how far along F Johnson is . Our line is really a mess. I differ with this article,I would trade Dalton to TB before I traded them McKee. We're not going to get much for either, but I can't see giving TB a QB that could be a future 2(or 1???) Dalton is on his last legs. I would keep the "youth" JMO. Of course we'd need to re-sign McKee, but at th8is point that is a minor issue

Isn't that the point..

That Tampa would give up something for McKee ..but not Dalton?

I'm not the one who was blindly defending the worst rated interior lineman through 4 weeks.

I even gave him the benefit of the doubt wondering if he had fully recovered from his back problem

Right....we got rid of the problem. Team should be better now.

McKee could come back.... if we trade Hurts. Give him an opportunity to start for a modest salary. But the Hurts move would have to happen first to open up that opportunity.

At least that is the logical sequence...but who knows? With Howie you can't rule anything out.

You are correct... but the only question is if we can eat the dead money and still be under the cap? If so, then it really doesn't matter the actual number of dead money, just if it can be done while remaining under

All that matters is if it can be done while staying under the cap. That's it. Those numbers mean nothing, what matters is the affect on the cap

I need to be in front of my laptop ...the overthecap page has a calculator that I can't do on my phone.

I do these all the time... they show the changes for 2026,2027 and 2028. If they cut or trade a player ..the team has to stay under all throughout... but also..if they trade Hurts now, he comes off the books sooner...so the 2028 # would be higher...meaning more cap space.

Wentz had like $36 mil of dead cap hit....but after trading him ...it actually opened up 600k of cap space !

Yeah my numbers came from Ai, could be inaccurate

Hard for me to trust Dalton to lead this team. Payton probably not ready(unknown). That leaves McKee if you wanted to trade Hurts tomorrow, unless you can trust Dalton)I don't). I doubt he could take too many hits at his age and with our weak O line he WOULD be hit. Then you have the opposite theory that letting Dalton play would drop your record for a better draft pick. It would be like sandbagging without admitting it

I have Dak in vs TB. My other 2 QB's are on bye, but I am ok with the matchup. I think TB struggles without Mayfield so more offensive chances for dem(suck) boyz. Also have Lamb and the TB kicker as I think TB could get that close but stall in the RZ

They are talking about trading a backup QB....so the other team would have to want one... the assumption is they would prefer McKee over Dalton.

I know you want to keep all the guys you like... but you have to trade players other teams want. Otherwise you don't get anything in return.
