Right we ran the tush push all year because no on could stop it. That is until it was stopped in TB. Same play, lack of execution

Do they have a prayer stopping it if they didn’t know it was coming?

My complain is when we keep running plays we SUCK at over and over and they fail over and over. That is bad play AND bad execution. So you either figure out how to execute that play or you toss it in the bin and find something else

Hurts and AJ set the record of most consecutive games receiving over 125 yards. What did you think changed? Those two just stop executing?

Doesn't matter if we excute it. TB figured out how to stop it. Imagine teams will be watching tat film if they have the players to do it

How would they do if Hurts could find them waving their arms in the air 45 yards downfield?

Larry Bird style !

See that’s what I think of how you talk football. I think of playing basketball. Just so much simpler. Defense/offense. Only so much really going on. Compared to football….

How would Goedert do 15 yards down the middle if Hurts can find him. Not the 1 yard passes to the sideline

Anyway out for the nite

With the easiest schedule I've ever seen for the Eagles...and the best WR duo as well.

But that's great then...think about it...2025 Hurts MVP candidate after 2nd year under Moore.

Idk what you are trying to say....seems like you are searching for problems or reasons for failure?

If you have faith in your players...and their intangibles... I don't get it?

Seemed to me I was just pointing out the very obvious. Takes time. Mahomes has been under AR his whole career. It’s mattered. Even then…could pretty clearly see what it took for AR to get Mahomes to adapt these last two seasons. Heck just this last season alone you could so visibly see Mahomes growth. When we played them they didn’t look like they were ready to win it all.

How many games did we win with the tush push when they KNEW it was coming. ok moving on.....

Same one play example that is the complete outlier from anything else. But keep agreeing if you can ram the ball oh the ground down your opponents throat…that always works on all levels.

And the outside guy running a hook or out... it's called FIRST DOWN.

Can't give it up that easy.

Pretty standard football really. You see it even more so the lower levels you get.

And we don't even know what's going on on the other side, but this one is bad enough. Now Plug Harrison into this picture(because that is where he is) This would not be a first down, this is a TD just begging to be had. I'm getting that outside CB to commit to an inside curl, then I turn out and I am taking it to the house

Exactly why the outside CB with Over responsibility can’t commit to a short out or in. Not his job. Slot CB has that zone.

Yep conversely if you lay off you are letting them control the game with constant first downs and killing the clock. So pick your poison. If you have decent CB's there is no reason for the pic above.and BTW I dont care how good your corner is. if I can get him to commit to the inside curl I will turn out for a TD

You have to fire the HC if you don’t like his core philosophy of D can’t give up the big plays. Most D play this way honestly. Pretty much just banking on you making a mistake…penalty/drop..something. But the hardest to do is be methodical up and down the field. They fear the big plays. Analytics pointing to those being the game changers.

Or how about a simple concept of not starting out 5 yards behind the 1st down marker...and running backwards?

You only believe in Sticks coverage?

Was it lack of execution…or TB D execute every well? Can the D execute effectively?

Of course we have other guys too I was just using them as a future example

Top WR in the league last year being double teamed…hmmm…think that answer was attempted plenty…still was the  top WR.

Don't know either of the kids but someone mentioned about Terrell Owens kid getting signed. Jerry Rice's kid went to the Bolts, prolly has a better demeanor.

Justin Simmons no longer counts in the comp picks, just sayin......

OBJ Jr went to Raiders, a lot of legacy picks this yr - 7. I'm getting old

I’m all about just hyper focusing Quinyon on outside CB. No sloppy habits forming. Just fully develop that one position with all the multiple roles that it entails. But I’m not likely to be ready to have him in Bump and Run coverage week one. Think he’ll be absolutely fantastic at it once he learns it. Hopefully become his main weapon of choice. But to start I’d be teaching him the techniques and rules of Off coverage Man and the different Zones.

Not even dabbling having him travel with top WR into the slot until he has a very solid grasp on executing all these parts of the outside CB job.

I think we are talking two different things.   I'm talking outside CB to take over for Bradberry..   you ( per usual)  way way way overthink everything else.

Whatever technique he uses...just be better than Bradberry.   Btw...I hope he uses every technique.

And wow do you have 1975 mentality with the game. The kids come in way more advanced today.

If you ask me why a Toledo stud QB wasn't in bump and run so often....is because there wasn't one single WR that they needed to worry about enough to take the stud CB away from everything else.  Dude was off, so he could help everywhere else.

Idk.... maybe it's the basketball mentality I have.   I need a player worth locking down to take me away from playing some help defense everywhere else.

I view slot pass coverage as potentially  DeJeans toughest job to handle. I keep coming back to all these scouts weakness consensus on him as lacking fabulous hip fluidity. But you start DeJean in the slot nickel CB.

I make him come to camp ....and see what I have and what will help the team..and go from there.

Everything else goes in the toilet... it all starts now.  You see with your own eyes vs NFL players.   Not what a scout said.

The scouting report gets the players here...no longer matters.

Only thing that matters is the resume that starts at the pro facility.

From PFF;

Ainias Smith proved a dangerous receiver after the catch at Texas A&M, as he forced 20 missed tackles after the catch in 2023 (seventh among all WRs). On 102 combined targets the past two seasons, he dropped just two passes.

What was the viewpoint? To me I prioritize outside CB. Highest grade goes if he can do that. Then grade up or down if he can travel to the slot ,usually thinking with a specific WR that day. If Revis was good at S did you care? So if he’s best at being a great S that’s fantastic…but not the same.

How much can you put on a rookies plate realistically before you’ve just flooded a super talented athlete and are screwing him up?
 DeJean jobs:

P returner? Yes

KO returner? Yes.

ST P gunner? Yes

thats more than we have valued Covey for just right there. So how much more we adding to his plate? And what is chosen? I think it very much matters.

What are you saying?  You are all over the place.   Why does your mind work this way.

Just let training camp happen and see how the players develop.
