No the reason I listed them is because they were much less developmental. We have a drastic dire need at the position and watch how the stats turn out. Ainas Smith and Johnny Wilson won’t trump these day two draft picks. Obviously not everybody will work out. Wilson is almost the definition of development. Smith needs development and pro body shaping.

Isn’t it more time now that football activities are happening to find any news or info about what’s happening with the guys we do have here. You know…something beyond the pre practice presser where Siri struggles to answer what his job will entail.

Has anyone argued that they aren't looking to improve the defense or that it wasn't needed...or that we don't what them to get guys that Fangio doesn't want?

I would hope they get guys for whoever the DC is?

You should be GM knowing which draft picks can step in immediately and which ones will need time.  That's awesome!

Exactly my point. What matters is getting the right guys for us. Guys for Fangio to build his D. Guys on O to surround Hurts.

 I remember when you posted this and said it was bad coaching and I had to explain to you it was the players fault here that he couldn't cover 20 yards in the same time frame as the WR running 5.

I do obviously put in plenty of time investigating and researching. I don’t have access to medicals or interviewing coaches and friends however. But there’s always an assumption based on draft pick hierarchy. Not always applicable. But I did notice that dropoff tier. You know that thing you don’t believe in. It was a very strong WR class. I mean even where we sat in the first round we could have chosen a complete stud WR. I liked Franklin who went in the fourth…kind of being the dropoff point.

Idk what specifically you think you want around Hurts. 

For me...i don't want that long speed guy that runs the clear out patterns.  To compliment Hurts, Smith, AJ....guys locked up long term...  we need the shifty slot guy...  who can make an impact on a few, even maybe just one touch per game.   

I also think we need that jump ball outside WR to catch the floaters that Hurts throws. 

I think the 2 draft picks fit specifically for Hurts and the rest of the studs as potential  compliments.

Geez not this again where I try to explain to you how the Slot CB has the outside Zone coverage again. Haven’t we beaten this dead horse enough. You either get it ot don’t. But regardless you’ll label the CB who’s 6 yards off as being 12yards off…no matter how many times you post the pictures with clear yardage markers right there for you. But let’s not slow your massive exaggerations down.

I do like the potential of our two draft picks in this fit towards the future. I think a very quality O minded HC will utilize them.

I agree... you put in time for this aspect of the college players.  I agree ... that is your nitch for sure.

For me, I appreciate all you guys on the board that do this, because I have zero interest in that.  So it's great for me to come here for that specific part.

Are you just now trying to figure out why there are so many catches near the sidelines? That stretching aD out sideways is also very effective.

Right..to simplifiy... under the proper coach...the slot CB would cover 20 yards sideways, before the WR gets 5 yards downfield.  It isn’t bad scheme or bad situational play call... it's the coach's inability to get his guy to run 4 times faster than the opponent.

For me it doesn’t stop there. Even though you gripe about any nonEagles stuff the pro scouting is also a large factor. Just because we didn’t draft a guy doesn’t mean he won’t be an Eagles.

Not sure under Fangio we won’t do something similar to tell you the truth. But you gotta remember our HC core fundamentals. D must focus on not giving up the big plays. Practically tying a DC hands behind his back from being aggressive. Does this still apply? Or does Siri have no real power now?

Actually to be fair…Desai stopped the Chiefs and Phins in the second halves if those games. Otherwise though we played Swiss Cheese coverage. Holes everywhere…wasn’t just the sidelines.

Something AR brutally punished us with to end 2022. Kind of surprised me it didn’t stick with Mahomes though. He really struggled in 2023 much too long to get back to doing that. But he obviously got there by the end…which I guess is all that matters.
