I actually think I’ve been brainstorming some pretty interesting ideas. Some different ways of approaching the play than just the obvious straight up free-for-all. Seems like you and plenty of others only see it as the old school game we played as kids we called:   Now forgive the very nonPC terminology of my childhood back then….we launched the ball up and one guy caught it and everybody just tried to kill him….I wasn’t the one that named it …but the game (you guys are very likely familiar with it also) was Smear the Queer!

Sure...except that game the dude with the ball had no help.    As per usual though try to exaggerate my position.

The first thing I said was . Don't expect to see strategy in preseason games.   Nobody is going to show their hand in preseason games for this. The 2nd thing was you won't see the real players in preseason.

So vanilla strategy with guys who won't make the roster is what you will see in preseason.

I'm sure they will practice all their strategies by themselves ...at practice.

From there it's limited to what they can do due to the formations and the elimination of the running start.  It's just how it is.

The big strategy I see happening... there will be 10 cover guys and 9 blockers that will cause 99 % of the strategy of which direction the blockers try to push their guys....and which defender they leave unblocked for the other return man to block.

Obviously we may see an occasional different type of play,  but I think for the most part it's going to be the players creating or not creating.... don't expect exotic strategies here.

I just got so sick of having to manage the roster and put in the time every single dang day to play any high quality competitive fantasy football. Your matchup ends very late Monday night. Then have to get on waivers so quickly after that. Then have to hit the after waivers pickups if you didn’t want to loose your waiver positioning. Then have to get all into figuring out your weeks lineup based on injury and matchup information really before Thursday nights game. Check in Sunday Morning to finalize things watching the injury reports. Maybe even make a decision late Sunday or even Monday night. Just too much. I played several leagues to make it worth it. But inevitably started missing more and more times of getting my waivers in…or getting that weeks lineup figured out before realizing Thur Night Football was big for my team that week.

I do 8 leagues... not an issue.   But you always have a way of making things seem like a big endeavor.

So I gave fantasy football up, started playing it with freaking dial up internet. Geez…that was serious work to accomplish back then. But Best Ball has me interested again. Think I could invest the time needed into that.

Lol... dial up internet.   We used to do it using the newspaper.

Fantasy football is something you do with the friends and family to give you that bond and something to talk about.  You didn't mention that part once???

The type of league or whatever should be irrelevant.  The people in the league(s) should be the reason you play or not.

Nice....is this a 12 team league?

Btw....where is Pollard playing this year?  I  forget.

Yeah 12 team standard. Pollard took over for Henry in Tennessee although it will probably be a 1A,1B set up and why he is a BU for me,not one of my starters. But on byes,he should give me some points

Remember draft parties. Some still do them. It's like a mini NFL draft. You can have 2 people help you LOL. I went to one long ago at a Holiday Inn,in a big banquet hall.,it's was a fun experience. Catered by them.I would say maybe 120 people. 12 teams, your helpers, your lady and your helpers other 1/2. It was a huge event

That was what kept me doing it as long as I did. Just to keep in touch with friends long distance.

Life carries on over all my long years I guess.

I lost interest in that late first PS game like every year. Get all hyped for any kind of football finally. But that first game with no starters just isn’t football I can watch very long.

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/eagles-hc-nick-sirianni-wr3-plan/ No mention of ASmith. If he is having difficulty transitioning, would be surprising. I was hoping for this slot by committee approach. With the varying talent we have there now,it should give DC's fits as to how to cover them. Wilson is making a mark

Nice to hear we are mixing plays up. This should be a really fun offense to watch. Will be more fun watching them grow into a cohesive unit in the next few years. I also like that DSmith is seeing time in the slot. He can be really effective there like JJ,so I'm liking that we can shift players around at will. Will be a disaster for DC's,they will have to be very good to counter us

Fantasy- "Sanders is not worth drafting in 2024" Nice move by Howie. Sanders I now RB3/4 here in Carolina. We can use him to pick up and deliver pizzas for us 🤣

Need WR that can move and be versatile. Moore likes to motion and change up his WRs to make it tougher on the D. Seems like the slot is a big weapon spot in his O also. Seems like he’s going to get AJ in the slot some here.

Are you guys concerned at all with Dickerson’s injury situation?

How close are we to the point of declaring Dean a bust? I thought he’d become a decent LB for us. Can’t deny he just hasn’t shown much to get optimistic about though.

Jalen Hurts tried to get him that chance last year, telling coaches that Covey was tearing it up on scout team, so why not give him that opportunity? Those pleas fell on deaf ears.

Hurts again is expressing confidence in Covey.

"The big thing for me is just building trust with Jalen,” said Covey. "Jalen’s come up to me and told me he trusts me. And that’s the biggest compliment you can get from your quarterback.”

2nd fantasy draft. Not much different-from 9th. I took a chance on 2 LV guys White and Adams. I'm not real thrilled with their 2 QB's as far as stats go,but we'll see. I will need a BU QB. Tua is on the wire,so may have to drop Friermuth for now. IDK how my QB is going to do with the Colts, took a shot there also. I will also think about replacing the Bucs D with the Squeelers except they play in a fairly nasty division for 8 games. Bucs first game is vs the Wuss,so they should be fine for that opener. My WR's I'm really happy with

AJ and Q forming a nice bond. It’s helping develop Q but also keeping AJ engaged. Think it will work out nicely for both of them.
