Idk the Vikings are pretty damn good.  Their D is middle of the pack as far as total defense but force alot of turnovers and are good against the run.  We know what they can do on offense.  They will be a tough match up unless we get them out of the dome at the Linc

Agree, but remember to flip that around. Name a team that wants to face Carter and Williams all day and that OL with Barkley pounding them. Nothing is going to be easy but this is the most talented Eagles team I've ever seen. The QB is the only thing that concerns me, which isn't a small thing, but that team is the most talented outside of the Chiefs.

The Cowboys just beat the Bucs and the Eagles smoked them. We'll see.

Meh, the chiefs weapons on offense are every meh even kelce looks about done and their oline is not spectacular.

Thinking back, there have only been a few years where the team has really looked and felt like a SB team.  '80, '02, '04, '17, '22, and now '24 are the ones that to me played all year like they were going to the SB.  Four of the five previous teams made it with only one winning.  '24 looks to be the most complete team top to bottom.

We aren’t locking them up. And our suspect pash rush is a problem. We better play keep away from them.

Detroit can and will score on any team…but while they will routinely put up 40 burgers on some teams, I feel confident Eagles D can keep them in the 20s if they play up to their ability.  If they play like they did vs Washington, probably not.  But that game seems to be the outlier since they bye

Agreed. I don’t feel like they have a glaring weakness anywhere. I would like the pass rush to be a bit better, but I don’t think it’s terrible either.

It’s a cliche, but to beat the Vikings or Lions on their turf, it will be about not turning the ball over…or at least not losing the turnover battle.  Lions beat the 49ers by 6 pts.  The 49ers averaged almost 8 yards per play but lost because Purdy gave them extra possessions with his 2 picks.  Lions didn’t turn it over.

I feel confident the Eagles can get a turnover or 2 vs Darnold.  Goff protects the ball better.  Yeah he had that bad 5 INT game, but only has 10 on the year total.  Goff has not fumbled at all yet either.  Darnold has 12 picks and 3 fumbles…basically averaging close to 1 turnover per game .

I'd love for Barkley to go for the record, and if we were playing with the #1 seed on the line, you do it.  But, wasn't it in the last game last year where Sydney Brown tore his knee up, didn't AJ Brown get hurt?  (Yes, I realize it was on the pile of turd field up north)

Could you imagine putting the starters in and Barkley tears his knee up?  Dickerson gets hurt?  Lane breaks his groin again?

NOPE!  As cool as it would be, you DO NOT risk injury in a MEANINGLESS game.  Rest, get healthy, and give your TEAM the best chance at making a Super Bowl run.

Yeah I don’t envy Nick this week.  Lane was the only player in the locker room (who I heard, anyway), that was talking about playing it safe.  Maybe he will persuade the others, but I have a feeling most of the players want them to go for it.

Johnson has the experience and as an older player is definitely one who should be rested. To be fair after the game AJ said on the field that he’d like to rest up and get right. I know he changed that in the locker room but I’m sure he wants to rest.

Maybe just show a couple clips of the injuries that occurred in the final game vs. the Giants last year....and then a clip of the Eagles winning the Super Bowl.  Say I want you ALL to be ready to go get this!

Yes but the same argument could be made about the Vikings. If they’re the number one seed and they lose in the division round, we could still host the championship game.

The Lions are leaking oil.  The Vikings are not.

I wouldn’t say the era of the QB is over. The top echelon guys like Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, and Lamar are as good as just about any other era’s top crop. And then you have guys like Herbert, Love, Hurts, Tua, Purdy, and Goff. And two good rookie years from Maye and Daniels. I think what you’re seeing with the revitalization in running backs is 5-7 years worth of teams getting smaller and faster to stop passing attacks. The league is cyclical and now you’re starting to see more of an emphasis on the run. It will eventually cycle back to more of a passing emphasis.

Mahomes for sure, you could make the argument for Burrow and Allen.  Lamar…still a long way to go before he’s considering a ‘great’ (stats say Dak is a great QB, but is he really?). We aren’t that far removed from the Brady, Manning, Brees, Ben, Rivers, Rodgers, Stafford era…then you had the fringe top 10 guys of Ryan, Wilson, Cousins, etc.  Smattered in there was Luck, Flacco, Palmer, Carr.

It’s only going to get worse…college football is essentially which team can assemble the best set of mercenaries that year in the Power 2.  There is very little development at the position in college these days.  There probably won’t be another Saban at the college ranks for some time, if ever.  It’s basically the formula Meyer created of recruit a bunch of scheme fitting athletes and KISS.  Hell there’s debate this year on Hunter, Sanders or Ward being the first pick of the draft.  It’s a strange world.

Lions didn't rest their starters tonight.  Go get the record.

I sometimes think about blocking RTK, but then I'd miss the entertainment value of posts like this.

Some clown on Get Up! this morning said that Minnesota is better than Philly because they're better in the trenches  I don't know why I listen to that garbage sometimes

It was a completely meaningless game for them.  Win or lose it had no implications on them winning or losing their division/#1 seed.  Plus they are now facing the Vikings on a short week.  Instead of resting starters they chose to play.

It sunk in.   Now what?   Am I supposed to be shocked, amazed, confused?   The Raiders are a bad organization... and have been for quite a while.

I don't think its over.  But, I think we are on the precipice to a new era in QBs.  I think teams will start to be more discriminating in the contracts given to QBs... its coming soon, if not currently here.    Teams are going to recalibrate...

I am always impressed by teams that are consistently good.   Teams that are consistently bad, that's 'easy'.  Just look at the Jets, Browns, and yes, the Raiders.  A 'good' season for them is to hit 0.500.

Good news is that the Eagles will only have to face one of them.  But, they will also have to face the Eagles... :flex:

I truly am sick of reading all the hand wringing about the Lions, Vikings and Bucs.   To win a Super Bowl, you have to beat good teams... dare I say, great teams.  So...

The NFC playoffs are going to be excellent.  The NFC championship team will have run a gauntlet of the best offenses and defenses in the league to get to the SB.

Only to lose to the Chiefs (and the officials) in the Super Bowl
