I came to terms that it won’t & shouldn’t happen. Need him ready to go in the postseason. If he’s playing in week 18 that likely means it’s because Dallas beat us, and that signals an even bigger issue.

That’s got to be the worry! What we saw from the defense today for a lot of the game (after a hot start) was bad. That doesn’t give me a lot of confidence of us getting it done next week if Pickett is in there.

The fact that guy is ranked ahead of Hurts in the NFL QB rankings… I mean it makes a mockery of that ranking!

Disagree, I am far less threatened by Cooper Rush than Daniels. 

No major injuries, correct?  That's what matters most about today.

Sweat and Davis came back into the game and Hurts should be fine in a week or two.

Of course and rightly so… But this D has it in them to ish the bed. It hasn’t happened a lot this year but we’ve seen it. Rush isn’t a major worry. To be honest Dallas aren’t really. But this team getting in its own way? That worries me. Rush is steady and gets rid of it quickly.

So the #1 seed is very obviously a real advantage. The #2 seed is a bit of a mixed bag and overall not hugely positive. We need that week 18 bye.

I think if Hurts was 100% cleared it might 9/9.5 , but I don't think it would be -8 if they thought Pickett was playing. And even he's iffy with the rib. Obviously, there's no guarantee with a concussion.

At this point toe the line with who keeps us healthy for the playoffs. I think Hurts will be fine but at home, if we have to make do with what we got, and Barkley. Rest against NY. 

 

Washington treating this W like a playoff victory is a good sign for our wild-card matchup.

They put up points.  The only difference was that Pickett had a bad int.  I think they were destined for a loss today either way.  The defense couldn’t stop a TD parade and the offensive weapons couldn’t sustain drives at the end.

This is a crazy thought, and definitely risky, and I don't actually expect this to be done, but an interesting thought at least...

 

With the talk of a "Week 18 bye", what about a "Week 17 bye"? Let's assume Hurts doesn't clear protocol and can't play against Dallas. What about sitting everyone? Theoretically, the Giants should be easier to beat, they may actually care about holding the #1 overall pick, and just want to get thru the game, and they're just bad enough we may be able to build enough of a lead to sit out the 4th quarter anyway. I could see Dallas wanting to put a physical pounding on us, but the Giants possibly caring less since they have more to lose by winning.

 

Like I said, I don't see it actually happening, and it's risky, but the idea has crossed my mind, and it's a way to ensure we get a "bye" of some kind.
