Hmm interesting. Cooper Rush throwing slants, screens and check downs to his TE. Who would of thought that setting up your backup qb with high efficiency throws would be beneficial.

Eagles allowed a game winning TD drive today and were a Legette drop away from allowing it vs Carolina too. Night and day vs how the defense started the game. Giving up 36 points when you forced 5 turnovers is hard to do.

I keep saying it, but Washington started a lot of drives around the 40 today. Kickoff team was terrible.

The other obvious difference is the impact the offense has on helping to limit the time our defense spends on the field. Those long sustaining drives weren’t there today with Hurts out and some dropped passes. It’s all complimentary and the offense didn’t put the game away for the defense when they could have.

And CJ Stroud is a good 2nd year QB who will probably get better. The years of Mahommes, Allen, Burrows, etc. will eventually wane.

Mahomes, Burrow and Allen are not going away anytime soon unless their is serious injury.

And CJ Stroud may get better.  Probably will.  But maybe he won't.  We'll see.

I know, but take a look at the crap on X from the team and their fans.

I was saying earlier how their radio announce team was screaming like crazy during the game.  Seemed very over the top but whatever.

But the more I think about it, I'm sure they were hyped after winning.  Many were considering the Eagles the best team in football and they just beat them.  Gives them great confidence I'm sure.   I'd be happy about the win but it was against the backup.

It’s why after the game, I said I was super disappointed in Moore’s play call. You could’ve made the game plan much simpler for Kenny Pickett like getting the ball out to our backs on screens or running more slants with aj or just having easy check downs. It felt like we didn’t adjust to the fact the commanders just said F it sell out against the run and blitz nonstop.

Targeting Barkley more than 5 yards from the LOS in the passing game is obviously not a great idea.  He’s a pure runner.

With 5 turnovers the TOP should have been similar to the steelers game last week, but it wasn't. The offense just wasn't good by any metric. No adjustments to them bailing out to stop saquon.

I believe with a full week of practice Pickett won't be THAT bad again. Not many backups come into a game and win. But that said I wouldn't mind seeing what McKee has.

This is a crazy thought, and definitely risky, and I don't actually expect this to be done, but an interesting thought at least...

With the talk of a "Week 18 bye", what about a "Week 17 bye"? Let's assume Hurts doesn't clear protocol and can't play against Dallas. What about sitting everyone? Theoretically, the Giants should be easier to beat, they may actually care about holding the #1 overall pick, and just want to get thru the game, and they're just bad enough we may be able to build enough of a lead to sit out the 4th quarter anyway. I could see Dallas wanting to put a physical pounding on us, but the Giants possibly caring less since they have more to lose by winning.

Like I said, I don't see it actually happening, and it's risky, but the idea has crossed my mind, and it's a way to ensure we get a "bye" of some kind.

It makes sense on the surface but I doubt it would ever happen. If anyone got any kind of injury against the Giants in a likely meaningless game Nick would get crucified. Regardless of the intent of the "bye” week before.

Special teams has honestly been bad all year, so sounds like Clay deserves another extension.

When is Covey expected back because DeJean is too valuable to have back on punts. I want him out of that slot as soon as possible. He keeps Maddox off the field and that’s more valuable than anything. They’re playing with fire back there.

Also it's been said already but the silver lining is now they can stop pretending they had a real shot at the 1 seed and we now have a de facto bye in week 18. We were destined to lose at least one more with 3 straight division games to close the season. The lions won't lose more than 3 and we were not winning out, we had no actual shot at 1 despite what the math said.

Sucks saquon won't beat the rushing record (barring a crazy game next week) but rather they get that rest going into the playoffs

He didn't have weeks to prep Pickett like Cooper has had, I doubt Pickett has gotten reps since the pre season. They were trying to run Hurts offense with an immobile QB.

If anyone, that is on Howie for not drafting a similar QB.

They have an entire game plan around Hurts and it got cut in half if not more. Kellen and Pickett did fine for have 0 secs of prep

I don’t expect the Eagles to play that lights out for the entire game, but I’m hoping it’s just one of those things that happens in the NFL and it’s not teams figuring out the Eagles defense a little bit.

In today's NFL, you can't be dominant on D for 4 quarters.

Red zone defense and preventing explosives is key. We were bad at both.

Cowboys going all out to play the role of spoiler.  Think the Eagles are in for a rough game next week if Jalen can't start.

yeah I dont get why theve done that. It was Foles backing up Wentz which obviously worked out but its a pocket passer backing up a mobile QB. Then, theyve had Minshew here behind Hurts, drafted McKee, and traded for Pickett. None of them are mobile. It makes no sense when the offense is designed for Hurts.

Still, a better QB than picket should function just fine passing the ball. Hope Pickett cant go next week if Hurts is out. Need McKee to have the opportunity to finally prove himself to be the #2.

Agreed. The Pickett trade made very little sense to me because he is a square peg when the hole is round.

Spoil what? We made the playoffs already. The giants aren't going to be playing for anything week 18 so even the backups can win that game which clinches the division. If the redskins lose next week, we win the division. The cowboys can't spoil anything

My issue is more with Pickett you have to know he hasn’t had a week of prep and can’t run the same offense you do with hurts. They are different players and it’s not going to be effective. I don’t disagree our backup not being in the mold of jalen is an issue. He should

Then again hurts has missed weeks/games/knocked out of a game in 3 out of 4 seasons. so coaches should have some knowledge of what your backup does well and doesn’t in case Jalen misses a game or gets knocked out. I don’t think it’s hard to sit there and say we probably should run more screens with how Washington from sold out against the run and blitzed at a high rate. Thats pretty common whether we have a week or not to prepare.

Nothing for the Eagles, as it's unlikely they don't get the 2 seed, but the Cowboys going all out despite having nothing to play for.
