No doubt between the extra games, and all the streaming services needed to watch games, the Super Bowl will one day be on Pay Per View. Going to be interesting to see the uproar when that's announced.

What is it now… ESPN MnF, Prime ThNF, Peacock early morning Europe games?

I think Hurts will play, but even if not, it's no excuse. The Eagles have a better roster and Dallas has their backup playing too. The Eagles should win backup vs backup with the superior roster. If not, something is wrong, and if the offense with Pickett looks that horrendous then the coaches did a crap job one way or the other. Either by game planning or not having the balls to go to McKee if Pickett is really struggling badly.

Kinda weird how it hasn't gotten out one way or the other. If it was nothing, CJGJ would probably just tweet what he said. If it was really bad, you think it would get leaked out somehow so the NFL and refs look justified. Being quiet from both sides is just weird.

He went back in the day coked up Mike Tyson on him. Now Mike could do some trash talking back then.  Scary as hell, too.

I believe that is a lie to make Kenny look good.

What should he have said? Yeah we dumbed it down hard and tried to run for the win knowing our backup is weak?

I would agree with you if that was a post-game comment, but it was a halftime comment.

Yes, and Netflix for tomorrow's games.

Green Bay over Dallas last year.

Man, that was so much fun.

Oh yea, duh. Not sure why I thought that was divisional round.

It's not just about Hurts where we say just sit him for next week.  We NEED to win against Dallas so that we don't have to win the following week against the Giants.  Week 18 needs to be a de facto bye for everyone, not just Hurts.

So if he's healthy he needs to play against Dallas.  Obviously if he's not, they need to figure it out.  But either way Dallas is a MUST WIN.

Yea, I'm not seeing must win. The commanders are set up perfectly for a let down game against Atlanta. They think they're the Fing ish right now, I can easily see them losing which makes week 18 irrelevant.

The giants are going to lose a top 2 pick if they win week 18, they aren't going to be trying very hard (and even if they did, they're terrible). Pickett can start and win that game 14-10. The eagles aren't losing out, the commanders aren't winning out, I'm not sure what all the hand wringing is about.

Ooh, Netflix is in on it…

Well, the only way to stop the tide of the NFL doing this is to boycott these games.  Easy for me, I gave up my Netflix a while ago.  I won't be resubscribing for one day's NFL games.

I doubt it. First off, the rights for broadcast runs through 2033. Pay per view might not even be around by then. The only thing that people even use pay per view anymore I can think of is UFC. Other stuff like WWE ditched that format and went to Peacock and now Netflix.

Then when you consider how much money the NFL makes from the broadcasts who in turn make a ton of money off advertisers, I don’t know if it would make financial sense for anyone. Between Super Bowl parties, illegal streaming and bars playing it, only a fraction of the viewer audience would actually be paying for it.

Tuesday games?!?!  Where does it end?

i just mean if they insist on having a "Christmas" schedule, those games should be played on Christmas Eve.

SB is way too much ad $, they will stick to one of the main networks until network tv dies

Games on Christmas eve or day are dumb. People have family stuff & travel.

Maybe one special game Christmas at night after all the presents & eating are done and people are just relaxing.

With 1 game a week, teams have routines. Stop making football all different days. Stick to mainly  Sundays.

I’m fine with them having a Christmas game if it falls on a thursday thru Monday. If it falls on a Tuesday or Wednesday, you don’t need to have an NFL game on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Especially if we are going to have a Thursday night game anyway then 2 Saturday games that week. Add on putting it on Netflix which has had some issues with their live sports events when they’ve done it in the past.

So i went back and looked at WC teams having better records than divisional winners over the last 44 years. Basically 22 years prior to going to 4 divisions and 22 years worth of data since going to it.

22 years prior to going to 4 divisions: 34 wild cards had better records than divisional winners (80-89 only 5 teams made playoffs). Which is about 1.55 per year

22 years since going to 4 divisions: 44 wild card teams have made the playoffs with a better record than a divisional winner. Which is about 2 per year.

from 80-90: 19

from 91-2001: 15

From 2002–12: 20

from 2013-2023: 24

The last 5 years nfl has seen 12 wild card teams have better records than a divisional champion. So on average 2.4 WC teams with better records than a divisional champion.

That doesn’t include his year where if GB wins another game and Washington wins out that’s another 2 along with the Vikings. making 3 in the nfc. Additionally Steelers/ravens, chargers and broncos may all have better records than Houston at end of the season. So potentially 6 wild card teams with better record than a divisional champ in their conference. So could essentially have 18 in 6 years which is 3 per year. Even if you take half of that happening it’s about 2.5 over the last 6 years so the trend has become it’s happening more frequently. Heck if all 6 things manage to happen you’d have 13 in 3 years. Which is 4.3 Wild card teams on average having a better record than one of the division champs.

Now he knows how the Elves feel on the 26th.

Edit: Now I feel bad. That sucks for him. At least he gets a check.

Netflix with live events has been bad with their stream quality so there’s a chance some don’t even have to boycott. It just won’t work or be horrific quality like the Tyson/paul fight

They likely would have to play either way unless they don't care about seeding and just want to play the Eagles in the WC round. Seems like that would be silly and they would be better off trying to be the 6th seed.

They not sure about the scenario but depending on what tampa does if they finish with same record the commanders are eliminated
