The league doesn't want us to win. We're too good to deny though.

I originally never understood this logic because the Eagles are a ratings draw and one of the most popular teams from a viewership/ratings standpoint. Have been that way for almost 25 years now. The league should be thankful for the overall success they’ve had over that span. This isn’t a Jacksonville scenario where people don’t tune into their games.

But something has been happening this season. Egregious calls in almost every game. I’m not a conspiracy person, but legalized gambling and other storylines have made me cynical to what is going on not only with football but sports in general right now. The stats are out there there regarding calls for/against them. And then you look at a team like KC that gets every benefit of the doubt.

But it doesn’t make sense because I would assume a team like Baltimore or Buffalo would draw just as much as KC. Maybe it’s a Taylor Swift factor but who knows. All I can say is it is just weird and it continues to get worse. And nobody seems to be held accountable.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  One of the funniest movies of all time and a current Christmas Eve tradition with me and my wife’s family.

Question though:  Who the frig allows both sets of in-laws to stay with them for multiple weeks?  They have that advent calendar that shows the timeline and it always drives me nuts.  "Hey in-laws!  I still have to work for 2 more weeks, but it’s normal for my father-in-law to stay in my son’s bunk bed the entire time!”

Just got done Trading Places.

That’s my favorite Christmas comedy.

Here's the thing - conspiracy or not, the utter incompetence of NFL officiating could absolutely reinforce those ideas for people looking for that sort of thing. Every game, every week - it's complete nonsense.

And listening to the podcasts, these guys act like it's some great faux pas to criticize NFL officiating. "It all nets out" they say. "Not trying to be the ref guy" they say. Does a Super Bowl loss due to some ticky tack holding call on a move each team's DBs made a dozen times that day "net out" or "come out in the wash"? What's the weight in your model for insanely high leverage calls?

Yeah let's fine Jalen Hurts for not having matching cleats, fine players for not wearing their socks or jerseys the right way. Professionalism, they say. Let's kick guys out of the league for 2 years for betting on games. Integrity of the game, they say. Where's the professionalism and integrity of the game with these bozos reffing NFL games?

Oh, and they're not even throwing the hip drop flags yet. And we're now hearing non-stop about the "center's beltline" when these idiots can't see a blatant facemask? It's a disgrace.

Wasn't she just pregnant? Smitty putting in work on and off the field.

When's the accountability coming for these bozos?

Why golf carts though, doesn't sports players hitting the golf course usually imply going home early (ala when a team gets eliminated from the playoffs).

Merry Christmas EMB!

Let us be honest about this season.

The Eagles are two drops away from 14-1.

@HazletonEaglewas right to be critical of Smitty. That game is over if he catches a routine pass that someone of his caliber is getting paid millions of dollars to catch.

But the #1 ranked defense also is to blame. Probably more than anything. You let a rookie QB dominate the second half. CJGJ shenanigans aside, the Eagles D should have figured it out.

Fangio has to be better.

Hope Hurts is back.

Gotta beat Dallas so they can rest versus the Giants.

Winning next week is everything.

If we beat Dallas AND the Vikings and Lions BOTH lose this weekend, it should be all hands on deck vs the Giants. In that case, a Vikings win over the Lions *probably* gets the Eagles the number one seed. The tiebreak situation with the Vikings has actually improved to the point where we're probably the favorite in the strength of victory category.

I enjoy golf and I’m not even sure what that gift is supposed to be.  I also walk the course, though.

I don't think the Niners have enough mustard to even beat their own meat, let alone the Lions.

Those don’t seem to be your typical golf carts either.  If they’re like the ones that are street  legal in some Florida cities, they’re super fast - hit 35 mph+  Almost like an ATV/Golf Cart hybrid. (Suspension system, etc)   Lots of fun.

I didn't say a word about Smith.  But count me in to the group who realizes that a game,  in any sport, never comes down to just one play.

Merry Christmas, you filthy animals!

We had the ball and driving while up 21-7. A LOT went wrong that lost us that game

My bad

It was @TEWwho was critical of Smitty on Sunday. The eggnog was flowing last night.

Ok Grinch. 🤣

They can drive around their neighborhood. Jalen famously drove them around in training camp.

He mentioned Smiths drop. I think I was the only one that brought up the 14-1

Eggnog and bourbon?🍻

As far as people saying we're 2 drops away from being 14-1, it's accurate.  But those that bring up the Carolina game that we should have lost if that guy catches the TD, well the game wasn't over.  There was still time left for the Eagles to get a FG and win.  Not saying they would have done it but the game wasn't over.  Saquon and Smitty catch those 2 passes and it's sealed, game over.

Eagles D should get blame. Too many errors in coverage and not keeping Daniels bottled up in the pocket.  They had this issue with Bryce Young as well.

I've seen people on YT saying that you can't blame Hurts not playing because he doesn't play defense.  But Hurts not playing limited the offense, which is built around his skill set. Getting 5 turnovers is huge but if Pickett is only getting FGs out of them it's hurting the team.  If Jalen plays I don't think those 4 drives end in FGs.  One or two of them end in TDs and that could have been the difference in the game.

Yeah he lost the game with that drop.
