Honestly what is there to dumb down?  We threw more than we would have if Hurts played.  The biggest difference was the lack of designed qb runs and the lack of tuck and run.

Err - no real deep threats either.  Pickett didn’t seem to be able to connect over 15 yards downfield.

Yeah throws passes like circle changeups.

Wow.  And some folks wonder why the NBA is struggling.

Honestly, that's so embarrassing that the NBA should fire her immediately and refund the ticket cost to the fans that paid to see players play, not act. The job of a ref is to call fouls that they actually see. She so emphatically called fouls that didn't happen because of player deception exposing her incompetence.

All I see these days are social media clips of the NBA. I don't waste my time following that league. It was all the flopping that ruined it for me. I've always felt that flopping should be a delay of game as it's 100% deception that cheapens the "sport." Make these grown men play on asphalt and I bet they all of a sudden can keep their feet.

Further, I'd like to see players like Jalen Carter stop doing it on the football field. We don't need that garbage ruining the best sport in the world. I actually think he'd draw more holding penalties if he didn't have a reputation with the officials for "acting" at times.

He'd be kicked out the game so fast if he played for the Eagles.

That’s just a throw he can’t make, not sure I’d call it a simplified offense.  But it’s semantics I guess.  If you take out a throw the backup can’t make, then the offense is dumbed down I suppose.

So people (social media, if that counts as people) are mad at Embid because he went after a female official? I've seen Embid and plenty of other players go after male officials the same way in my years of watching the NBA. But now, because she's a woman, he's supposed to hold back? If you're going to hold female officials to different standards while calling a men's game, maybe they shouldn't be calling the game? If she's hired to do a job equal to that of a man, she's fair game to any the same criticism and actions from players.

Three division games to end the season feels like schedule makers trying too hard.

The only possible way the top 2 teams get a bye is to have an even number of teams play. Which means the only viable solution is to add an 8th team in each conference. That along with an eventual 18th game is likely coming in the near future.

Drop back to six teams

Won’t happen due to the money the 2 extra games bring. Eventually it’s going 8 team playoffs chase the owners will want more money.

I think they backload the division schedule every year now to make the division races more exciting… in reality it makes most of them meaningless for one or both sides.

Maybe not but they should

8 teams would mean no byes right? Then maybe no homefield advantage as the NFL might sell a bowl series, perhaps overseas. Merry Christmas (or more appropriately bah humbug).

i wish the nfl would get homefield advantage just cause you win the division. Just saying the Vikings shouldn’t have to go play a road game at 14-3 in Tampa/atlanta (who’s potentially 9-8) cause the nfc south is not a good division and they play in the best division in football. Frankly i think it should be you get a playoff spot if you win the division but seeding goes by record.

I wish, but I don’t see the league taking money out of their pockets. It was fine the way it was.

That wouldn't work, though, as you'd have 8 teams in and then 6 play in Wild Card Weekend. That leaves 5 -- 3 winners and the 2 byes. So it doesn't work.

My guess is sadly we are headed to 8 teams, no byes...

This league is such a joke now, gets harder and harder to watch each year

Hopefully the falcons win sunday so commanders have to play week 18

I finally ditched League Pass this year. To be fair, we dumped DirecTV for You Tube TV, and I just didn't bother to add it for the new season. The game just isn't interesting at all - I'm not interested in seeing teams jack 30 three pointers a game. Plus, I'm sick of watching refs be terrible and starts sit out. Everyone is asking what is wrong with the league, and the answer is simple: they're asking a 40 year old to carry it.

While I'm a traditionalist, I always felt seeding by record was a better argument than letting a 7th team into the playoffs (because every few years a 10-6 team misses out and cries).

I actually like that winning the division still means something. This year, it may set it up for the Lions and Vikings to have to fight it out week 18. Yeah, the NFC will be screwy this year and GB and Min/Det will have better records than 2 division champs, but I'm not sure I want to throw away all meaning for winning a division.

To clarify, I prefer the old 6 playoff team format - and division winners should always make the playoffs (I’d just acquiesce to the seeding, if I had to throw a bone - where a terrible division winner could be the 6 seed rather than 4).

hmmmmm
