I bet they come out flat next game

There's no point in playing him, the commies have to win out to win the division and we have to lose out. Even with playing backups against the giants they shouldn't be putting up much of a fight unless they want to lose out on a top 2 pick, so why chance it? Give hurts 2 weeks off, Pickett with a week of practice can beat the giants. Can probably beat the cowboys.

I cannot believe how excited that team got to beat Kenny Pickett after turning the ball over 5 times at home lmfao. I cannot wait to play them again in the playoffs in Philly, we'll win by 30

Washington getting their signature win against a backup QB says a lot about their franchise. We weren't celebrating like this for beating Cooper Rush.

I think what drives me nuts about this is that our coaches (mainly Moore) didn’t make adjustments to help Pickett.  No game plan change, he hasn’t seen game action in a long time, and his skill set is very different from Hurts. Not to mention he stinks.  Meanwhile it’s like their defense planned and prepared for this exact injury after Saquon’s long run. Hurts out. Run blitz.  Do not allow Saquon to beat us. I expect Kellen Moore to at least attempt something creative to keep the offense on the field.

Hey come on now, they tried that **** wildcat snap on 3rd and Goal. The 20 year old white Toyota Camry of trick plays.

I actually like that winning the division still means something. This year, it may set it up for the Lions and Vikings to have to fight it out week 18. Yeah, the NFC will be screwy this year and GB and Min/Det will have better records than 2 division champs, but I'm not sure I want to throw away all meaning for winning a division.

I think there’s still meaning in winning the division as you still get an automatic playoff berth. To me it’s not just two teams that might have better records. If the commanders win out, the Packers win one of the next two, and the Vikings win one of the next two then three teams are going to have better records than the NFC south and the NFC West champion.

furthermore, in 2020 when the NFC East was absolute dog crap and the winner finished below 500. They did not deserve a home playoff game. I get that is more of an outlier but that outlier is completely eliminated if you just went by record. And I would keep the division having more meaning with a tiebreaker scenario. If two teams have the same record and one of them is a divisional champ, they would get the higher seed

I also think 30 years ago it was  tougher to win the division aa you only had three divisions with five teams in each. Now you have four divisions with four teams in each. I would have to go and look through the statistics of the three division in each conference as compared to the 4, but I’d bet the percentage of teams winning the division, but having a worse record than some wildcard teams has increased since they made that move.

It's not just about Hurts where we say just sit him for next week.  We NEED to win against Dallas so that we don't have to win the following week against the Giants.  Week 18 needs to be a de facto bye for everyone, not just Hurts.

So if he's healthy he needs to play against Dallas.  Obviously if he's not, they need to figure it out.  But either way Dallas is a MUST WIN.

Anyone who is scared or doesn’t want this rematch in the first round is kidding themselves. This is what rivalry football is all about. Get our guys healthy and send these bums to Cancun. It would be a tone-setting first playoff game at home.

If Hurts doesn't play this week they are 100% playing the offensive starters at least the first half of the final week to get him in game reps before the playoffs.  You don't go into the playoffs with Hurts not playing in what would essentially be 3 straight games at that point. That isn't even factoring in the possibility it might be a need to win game to win the division in week 18 if they lose this week at which point starters play that whole game up until the point it becomes a blowout.

I think Washington is now my most hated team surpassing Dallas, Giants, Vikings and 9'ers......I can't wait to curb stomp them in the Playoffs.

Hurts not in the graphic but at least it’s Kelly green week

Has anyone, in the history of the game, been kicked out for trash talk before? That seems like it's a little beyond the pale for me.

Offensive starters will be playing the final week if Hurts is out this week.  They aren't rolling into the playoffs with Hurts not having played in essentially 3 weeks.  Same scenario as the end of the 2022 season in that final week against the Giants.

Deciding to have your starters available to play the first half of week 18 makes it difficult to have enough backups to play the second half.

If trash talking is worthy of getting ejected, BG should have been expelled from the league years ago.

Then I guess starters are playing the full week 18 then.

It's ridiculous that we have no information on what he said/did to warrant being ejected. Short of a racial slur, I'm not sure what justifies it.

I agree that was ridiculous.  Also when was the last time a guy that punched a trash talker didn't get the penalty  but the trash talker did

Merry Christmas to you all!

Exactly, if you want to set a precedent like that, that just talking can get you removed from a game, then you better come with some receipts about what that line was.

I feel like this offense still only gets around 80% of what AJ is capable of doing. He somehow still feels underused even with his incredible production. The only argument I’ll have against TO is he wasn’t here long enough, but I view AJ as the best receiver this team has ever had.

Begs the question "why was he here such a short time?"  And the answer to that is that he decided to completely scuttle the team for his own purposes.  And eventually he was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.

So... next question...

T.O. is a footnote in the history of this franchise, IMO.  And adding him didn't move the needle for the team.  They had won the #1 seed for years ahead his arrival.  They got the #1 seed with him here.  They didn't get over the hump of the NFC CG with him, he was injured and didn't play any role in getting to Jacksonville.  And, when he came back, they lost in the SB... could have done that without him just as much as they did it with him.

IMO, Jevon Kearse and a healthy Derrick Burgess were much more pivotal to getting over the NFC CG hump.
