That’s where you lose me with the internet tough guy stuff. Siriani still has near the best winning pct in Super Bowl era. It’s not an accident as much as fans here want to say it is to fit their narrative

    Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

This will be interesting. What will the NFL do after getting on their high horse in week 1?

Final Lions Game Score Prediction Results

First, there is a correction to last week's Results. @joemas6 was not listed with his correct Bonus prediction of "One of the new guys on defense gets a sack or turnover." Jaelan Phillips did have a recovered fumble.

Now, on to this week's results. A total of 56 predictions were recorded with 20 for a Lions win and 36 for an Eagles win.

@Talkingbirds prediction of an Eagles 17-14 win was the closest, and wins the chicken dinner. @Casey @ Bat hit on the Eagles' 16 points, but had the Lions with 20.

It was a very creative week for Bonus picks. They definitely were entertaining to read. Here are the ones that were correct or close to correct

@BigEFly got his half right with "Cooper with a catch, Coop with one too (thanks, lions)" If he had said "Cooper with a hitch" he'd have gotten both.

@jamiller's "Eagles with 2 takeaways" gets the Sirianni stamp of approval. Nick sees the 4th down denials as turnovers.

@Diehardfan had "Cooper with a pick"

@rrfierce had "We only score 3 points in the first half"

@Outlaw with "Phillips with his first full sack as a Bird"

@JohnB with "Our Defense is going to do a great job of containing the kitties"

@Casey @ Bat with "Jameson Williams hurts us. Offense still can’t figure it out." Although arguably the wind had a lot of negative impact on both Offenses.

@Parrot Head with "Yeah, I think the Eagles win. I most certainly don't think they are getting blown out 2023 9'er style."

@Swoop was mostly right with his "AJ Brown is about to have a monster game this Sunday and this will be behind us. Gone are the days of only 2 catches. I'm guessing 4 catches for 31 yards."

and

@Mike31mt with "So many people are just dying to see the Eagles collapse and it won't happen. I have a feeling they drop the hammer on the Lions today."

In the first eleven weeks the closest predictors have been

@Freshmilk and @Bwestbrook36 in Week One's 72 predictions

@just relax in Week Two's 55 predictions

@Diehardfan in Week Three's 56 predictions

@Screaminbeagle in Week Four's 61 predictions

@Walkdawalk in Week Five's 59 predictions

@Giggity_goo in Week Six's 50 predictions

@kiwieagle and @Diehardfan in Week Seven's 52 predictions

@McMVP in Week Eight's 50 predictions

@b_west3 in Week Ten's 54 predictions

@Talkingbirds in Week Eleven's 56 predictions

Here is the final list of the predictions and bonuses:

Coaches and fans grade from different perspectives. Consider this. Sirianni might be thinking that he's an a-hole if he only gives someone half a year to develop (or less), and to be honest in a lot of ways, he's right. The problem is he's facing the most expectations and pressure in the history of the Eagles, despite operating from the position of being dead last to get started on hiring his offensive coordinator. People also wanted him FIRED last time he made an in-season change at coordinator that didn't work out, and continued that sentiment staunchly until he won a Super Bowl.

Carter’s was a little different because it happened before the first snap and that basically served as his "suspension”.

The eagles have Campbell listed at 235, Hunt at 252, and Smith at 238

Campbell needs anywhere from 3, to 15 pounds to fit the mold of one of our full time edges. Not much at all.

I don't think Nolan is the prototype base edge, he just happens to punch well above his weight. Jalyx, yes.

I'd rather pay Phillips and let Campbell succeed Dean. Dean is helping us win a SB this season and will be a nice part of the comp pick formula in 2027.

I think it's an interesting discussion, it depends what Dean wants, if he's willing to re up for 3 years at a reasonable cost that reflects his injury history then I'd do it without question, because I like having pro bowl level inside linebackers who are solid characters and I've watched way too many years of Eagles making do with JAGs in there. but if he were to play like he did last night, playing solid coverage as well as box safety for the rest of the season and wants paying according to that, then there's a decision to make. I think they keep him around simply because Baun is about to hit 30 and his contract is up at the end of '27, and Campbell ultimately replaces Baun rather than Dean.

24X is okay, but having the right weight doesn't mean being good there. Like I said, going BPA sometimes means you need to trade away the players you selected as BPA. Trading Campbell at the end of rookie contract shouldn't be hard off the table.

It did. But the NFL set the standard of a 1 game suspension for spitting and talked openly about it.

I don't think they will do anything, but it makes hard to be seen to be consistent on matters also

We definitely need to see less of Grant and two tight end sets

It’s starting to look more and more like he may be the odd man out. Hes not a dlineman, hes not an outside corner (but will get a deal like Quinyon’s anyway). We’ve never paid a nickel top corner money before. And now that Phillips may be on the table, more sacrifices will need to be made later on

I disagree - the play at CB2 is to rotate in journeyman while trying to strike gold again via the draft.

Will be a real shame when the bulldogs are inevitably split up and go their seperate ways.

The league wide takeaway of week 10 should be this.

The Lions and Chiefs are not special. Denver's and Philly D's destroyed them and they both lost a game where the refs gave them about 50 yards worth of clear cheating advantage.

AJ tripping and falling towards a defender getting 15? Not seeing a line up in the neutral zone on a tush push? Terrible Eagles ball spots all night? The touches that were called penalties on the Eagles but the Lions got away with grabs? The ticky tack last penalty call does not make up for all of that. The Denver game might have been worse.

You can add in that Darnold is still Darnold and the Rams were +3 in turnovers at home but could not move the ball at all in perfect conditions so they had to pray for a missed FG with bad Darnold on the other side.

The right weight means you are more likely to hold up on the edge against the run. Trading Campbell, sure, but that's pretty far out there in the timeline - what did Nakobe do as a rookie?

It's shame that the defense has to be hollowed out to pay for this offense.

I think Fangio will bat for him. People don't get this but his tremendous run defense ability is the entire reason we can play nickel so much. With a normal nickel, we're in nickel a lot less, and if we're in nickel a lot less, our defense will be worse in coverage. DeJean is not a safety, but he often tackles like one (like Sheldon Brown with less power), so the run defense isn't all that much less stout with him in the game. That's a tremendous advantage.

I can't tell you how bad Hurts was yesterday but its a C- range game. He was not the problem.

How do you judge a QB forced to play a bunch offense with WRs running wide and deep in swirling winds?

How can you throw a quick out if it takes 2 seconds for your WR to get to the out part of the field?

STOP high school harry crap against 5+ fronts!!!

The penalties, play calls, and personnel usage are 100% coaching and must get better.

Maybe Hurts has a C+ or B- game without all the drops and stupid penalties.

The Mailata holding was so stupid. What did he think he was doing?

Cooper can't stay still on a tush push as a pusher?

Trott has to hold on a fair catch?

So sloppy!

I'm not saying it to be insulting to Campbell in the slightest actually. I think they're both going to be very good players in the end. I don't know if Campbell will be good at EDGE, but I think he'll at the very least be very good at off-ball.

However, I think you don't take trade of someone you drafted BPA off the table. You have to make a complex evaluation (that's not great to discuss on message boards) that is comprehensive, and includes a variety of factors, including fit, money, health, what you're willing to work with, what you're not, what a player means to a team if a leader type, how the green dot is handled, whether that can be aptly handled by someone else, how the player fits in the locker room, versatility, vs run, vs pass, scheme fit, and several other factors that most of us here probably won't even think about because they're too technical.

But my point is more that getting a good player at a position in BPA does not mean having to trade the incumbent.

This is actually by far the biggest shame, especially considering the offense really hasn't been the thing powering us through games for both this season and last season when it really mattered. The defense deserves to have more resources allocated than the offense, but the prioritization on extreme offensive comfort here probably won't let that happen.

Yeah his numbers say he's in rare air, he's had a revolving cast of coordinators and looks like he's about to top double digit wins for the 4th year in a row, as a 4 year stretch it's up there with anyone you care to name.

The winds might have hurt us as much as them - DET obviously is a high volume passing team that plays indoors, but how much of our offensive production is about hitting on a 2-3 deep plays (which are even more low percentage under swirling conditions).

Don't praise him, he's a defense merchant with the best roster in the history of football, and the best QB in the history of humankind!!!!!

Anyone else would do even better!!!!!

I see RG, at least while we are paying Landon and Cam, as the same type of position.

I would be a little concerned about Carter without some Georgia guys around to keep him in line.
