Don't think Eagles liked Freeling and Iheanachor as much as others projected. Could've easily gotten both.

Both of those guys were boom-bust types. Extremely talented physically but real risk.

Lemon has a high floor. He wasn’t expected to last this long, so it’s sort of a BPA pick.

I get it on that level combined with the AJ Brown situation.

It’s just that our offense got really awkward. Our top 3 projected WRs are precision route runner but Hurts isn’t a short, possession, rhythm type of QB. We are now really small out wide, but Barkley and the OL are built for power running.

I guess Howie is going to rebuild the offense. AJ gone this summer, Barkley and Hurts likely gone in the next year or two, also have to replace Lane Johnson, probably Dickerson, and maybe Mailata too.

All as our young defense hits their peak. Howie has some serious work to do.

We trade with the cowboys to take a smaller WR and they take an edge rusher.

Is this a pattern or is my football autism showing?

Lemon IS a clear Mannion scheme fit.

My worry is that Hurts is not the QB to unlock him.

They'll draft his replacement next year

BTW - My sake this evening is called "Pure Dawn." It's a ginjo, cold of course, by Shimizu-No-Mai.

Devonta Smith was one of the most productive, dominant, and ready to plug in for anyone anywhere WRs in ncaa history.

I’m not sure he’s evidence the eagles have "figured out” how to draft and develop WRs. We know the endless parade of busts before him. And I’d wager we are in for more of that. Their track record with physically and explosively underwhelming WRs is abysmal.

Eagles got a top 12 player

Yeah, that does not seem like good value, especially to a division rival. The Chiefs traded a late 3rd and a late 5th to move up from 9th to 6th ... and the Eagles had to trade almost the same value with two 4ths to move up from 23rd to 20th, which is waaaaaaaaaay less value to move up.

That’s not the point though…we gave up 2 4ths, which I can’t imagine a world where we get less back for AJ.

Is Johnny Wilson the only WR over 6’0” now?

I think it is but in all seriousness when and where are they going to find a QB better than Hurts? Only way I see that is if Hirts plays so bad or gets hurt and they get a high pick in 2027. Or if Joe Burrow becomes available.

Hurts, imo, has 3-4 more seasons with us.

The eagles have an out in his contract after 2027. Maybe you can flip him then for some picks?

I will now need to buy some of this for every game.

Well that answers that they didn't like the 1st round O linemen available.

I'm hoping Lemon is the WR to unlock 2024 Hurts rather than 2025 Hurts.

This is where i sit on it. Hes not really the WR I’d be wanting to go after in the first. his size and athleticism do worry me. I’m really hoping he isn’t just a slot in his career and can win on the outside as well

Seems really athletic tbh - a ton of burst and very quick - might not have the best straightforward 40 time but either did Devonta Smith.

If he can excel at slot. - so be it - could add a significant element to Hurts’ passing game - especially up the middle passing.

True. If he wants the old McVay three-WR offense, he’s nice. Kinda like Robert Woods. If he wants the current Green Bay play a lot more 12, it feels like Jayden Reed, and fans were annoyed he didn’t play more because he’s not an X and wasn’t the starting Z.

Move over underdog mask, we're wearing lemon heads now.

Apparently they think Lane Johnson is going to play forever..

Yeah I was kinda hoping we'd come away with a couple OL in the first few rounds. With Stout gone, I feel like we're gonna need all the help we can get.

Really surprised he got past the Rams

Exactly. Just a terrible fit of QB and WRs.

The Eagles have an out in Hurts’ contract after 2027. So maybe we take a QB next draft, groom him for a year, then move on.

I see him as an 800 yard 8td for 10 ypc receiver at his peak.

TBF, Lemon is plug and play too. He’s savvy out there.

Well...we all expect it to be a 1st next. Hope it's not 31 this year

They would have turned him into an HOFer.

We won't.
