Why are people assuming Hurts can't run a WCO type offense?

He's run like 6 or 7 systems between College and the NFL.

He's smart, works hard, and will pick up the system.

And he'll probably enjoy throwing to WRs with separation off the snap, instead of sitting in the pocket waiting for 4 deep to come open.

Also if Hurts can't run this offense, he's toast. Will be gone in 2027. Eagles clearly going all in with this Shanahan/McVay offense.

2028.

The offseason between 2027 and 2028 is when we have an out in his contract and the writing is clearly on the wall. We have changed our offense schematically. Hurts needs to adapt or he’s gone. I’m betting gone.

Anyone comparing him to Agholor or JJAW are nuts. Unlike those guys and Reagor, Lemon seems to consistently do the detail things well - route running, sideline catches, actually catching the football. If they evaluated him as a surefire 1st round quality guy, it was a no brainer. I just figured they’d finally make the OT pick they’ve been wanting to make for years.

I feel some people did not watch 2025 AJ Brown. He is not 2022 AJ Brown.

Rap Sheet just reported the Steelers were on the phone to take Lemon when the Eagles traded ahead of them.

Philadelphia just ruining Pittsburgh's week. 🤣

My sake bottle is empty.

I may need more.

Brown isn't suited to the new scheme, he's really not that quick anymore.

Buh-Bye, AJ. It's been good. Seriously. It's been great having you as an Eagle.

Dude, he doesn’t read your posts

Lemon catches everything, he has 4 drops in his whole College career.

Are those called lemon drops?

I kind of think mannion with Gb probably sees him as potentially being like their Jayden Reed. They are nearly identical in heigh (both basically 5’11), nearly same weight (187 vs 192), same arm length and hands both close to 9. Reed ran a 4.45 and lemon ran a 4.47. I am not saying they are the same player but i could see mannion viewing him in this offense as their Reed

Reed has averaged 619 yards per season over his three years -- I certainly hope they see him as a whole level different type of player.

Told bridges he could become anything and he decided to stay true to his Philly roots and become Ben Simmons

His boy Hart wasn’t much better.

Hes not that’s fair. Neither is Lemon, nor will he ever be.

Because the WCO is throwing to all parts of the field

The thing I always go back to with AJ Brown is this, the line of demarcation with him and the Eagles was always at the end of 2026 and the 2027 off-season. He needed a new contract at that point because he only had $4 million guaranteed left on his contract and he was 30. So he was always going to ask for an extension and try to get one so we could cash out on one last big payday. So at that point in time I don’t see the Eagles at 30 years old, declining and having knee issues giving him an extension. So this was always coming to a head after 2026.

Even with all the tampering that people wanna talk about, the eagle might also look at this as can get out a year early than a year too late and be compensated nicely for it. If he plays in 2026, where he’s not happy or he gets hurt or declines even more we are going to get less than what we could’ve now. To me it kind of makes some sense after June 1 for the eagle to move off him now if you could get better compensation now than a year from now even if he could be great in 2026

Chiefs giving Mahomes no protection 😭

Injuries

It doesn't require a big arm, see Montana, et al.

Just the smarts to recognize who coming open quickly.

I actually don’t hate the Knicks players, but I hate Knick fans so it makes me happy if Atlanta knocks them off

Had him as WR3 and a good separation ability. Probably because of his smoothness and route running.

Let's not forget the Eagles did take Cameron Williams last year. He got at least a year with Stout and can still learn behind Lane this year

Look at the Jets killing this draft

Best hands and route runner in the draft
