That would have been my choice, but I trust Howie. Bit scary because is he Smith or is he another crappy WR, but I'll trust him.

Yes I agree. I’d have liked that too but I doubt they’d have done it anyway. They seemed set on offense

I'm not the biggest Lemon fan, I don't dislike him, I like a lot of things about him but prefer my WRs to have more juice and explosiveness. But you hope he could be a Nacua type in the NFL.

Just have no idea where that OT of the future is going to come. I guess they'll have two 1sts next year's draft to figure that out. And hope they trade McKee now because giving up two 4ths is a lot.

Still would love Klare or Delp. Hell, I'd still even take Chris Bell at WR.

Also if Hurts can't run this offense, he's toast. Will be gone in 2027. Eagles clearly going all in with this Shanahan/McVay offense.

Rap says the Steelers were set to take Lemon.

Rap Sheet just reported the Steelers were on the phone to take Lemon when the Eagles traded ahead of them.

Knicks lost. That's fun.

PIT was trying to get Lemon on the phone to pick him at 21, Howie sniped em'.

He can play the Z (Smith’s best position) or play anywhere if we’re in condensed splits. He is not an X.

Saying "Smith’s best position” is like declaring which is best while smoking meat…beer, bourbon or whiskey.

a major positive is we can use this photo of him whenever RTK says something off the wall

They know what they are doing. Feel even better about it now

Smith is leagues better on the outside than Algholor ever was. I don’t really see the connection tbh.

I agree that Smith is leagues better than Agholor outside. Smith is an elite WR. Being able to utilize him in the slot frequently allows him to be more productive. My concern is that Lemon is solely a slot WR which limits the ability to utilize Smith in the slot effectively.

So Steelers were on phone to Lemon when Eagles completed the trade and jumped them.

They really wanted him - jumped Steelers to do it and overpaid (trade wise) to make it happen.

Here's me wishing Cowboys just them to F off and took Lawrence - would have left Ihanechor or Thienman for us

That’s a good return for #20 overall? How much is AJ worth then?

It would be a solid return.

But let me give you a counter argument…

You are basing that production on the offense we have run the last 2 seasons.

But we are going to be running a much different offense. And likely will have a different QB in a few years.

What if we start throwing the ball a lot more? With a different QB who throws in rhythm and on time? Modern slot WRs can use route running and great hands to put up some pretty absurd numbers.

This is what Howie is likely thinking — complete rebuild of the offense. We have an out in Hurts’ contract after the 2027 season. So long term, we might be looking at a guy who puts up pretty big numbers.

The problem is short term. Smith, Wicks and Lemon are just a bad stylistic fit with Hurts and a power running OL/RB.

Which is awesome. I’ve been wishing for that for a while. (The Shannan thing not the Hurts thing. That will work its way out one way or another.)

Yup. New OC & other coaches, loaded at WR. What we're seeing is preparing 1-2 years ahead. AJ traded for 2027 picks. Next year get Lane's replacement and a QB on a rookie deal.

Lemon catches everything, he has 4 drops in his whole College career.

I don’t see Devonta as a slot though. I know they use him there but he’s an outside guy IMO.

Well, he certainly is now.

See this is why you all think I’m negative…I can’t just go along with eternal optimism.

Imagine one year ago someone told you the Eagles would be forced to trade AJ Brown and would trade up in round 1 for a slot type wr with below average size and explosiveness…but a "dawg” who tracks well, runs good routes, and is ready to go.

You going to be chest thumping over that? This how you scripted out round 1?

I really like this pick. Maybe that's the bourbon talking. But he seems like the kind of receiver who is going to be even better in the league. He's also absolutely insane, which is a requirement for WR1s.

Told bridges he could become anything and he decided to stay true to his Philly roots and become Ben Simmons
