I think you get almost the same player with Concepcion staying pat and keeping those extra picks.

The value of this is what really keeps my excitement down more so than the player.

I liked Concepcion. Something about him prevented me from loving him. I wonder if he'll just be a gadget player in the NFL. But Eagles had Lemon top 15. We'll see if they were right. But that's how they viewed it. He was the last player left in that upper tier of players.

With wicks having drop issues (i believe i read that) i can see why the eagles would want lemon over KC. Can’t have multiple guys out there where you have to be concerned whether they are dropping it or catching it when the throw is made

That said even when they trade AJ Brown, this is still one of the deeper wide receiving corps we have had in the last 20 years. Legitimately we have not had a fourth wide receiver with the talent that Hollywood Brown possesses if he stays healthy.

Yep. Hollywood is what they hoped Quez Watkins could become, with the exception that Quez was their 3rd WR and Hollywood will be their 4th. Imagine if they add a legit TE tonight to pair with Goedert. Good luck trying to figure out who key on when they have Smitty, Lemon, Wicks, Hollywood, Goedert, and a rookie TE to spread the ball around to. Hurts's life will never better either since he can just sit back and throw it to the open guy drive to drive, week to week, without having to worry about a selfish loser whining to get the ball and stirring up drama.

Asking Hurts to be the conductor of a quick release, quick developing, timing, ball spreading, multi-threat offense is a bold move.

Maybe it works. But I can’t imagine anyone wouldn’t acknowledge it’s a bold change.

The Eagles realize that he either evolves into that role or they move on from him.

Not to mention Lemon will be an awesome compliment to AJ Brown. You know, since the "AJ trade rumors were all made up by the media and he is totally happy here and never requested a trade." Right Chachi?

Nah. I've had a positive reaction to almost every pick we've had for a long time now. I just stick to my opinion on a player and a fit after we draft him. And a negative reaction to a first round pick (unless they draft some 5th round prospect) on draft day essentially isn't tolerated around here.

I will say you are right that since the eagles have shifted to drafting athletes, they have been crushing it. I definitely get where you are coming from. I get the skepticism over the eagles success rate with this type of prospect.

Exactly. A lot of people can't seem to grasp this simple concept. Those two goofs McMullen and that kid on Brids 365 talk about this almost every single day and dumbfounded by the thought to the point where McMullen says they will just end up reverting back to four hitches and four verts all of the time by the 3rd game. The offense is legit changing for better or worse and if Hurts can't run it he will be replaced in 2027 and possibly sooner if it's a disaster.

Yup. Thats my interpretation of this. Eagles getting guys who fit the offense and how it’s supposed to be run. Now offense early probably has growing pains but if we stay relatively healthy then we should see it grow and flourish as the season goes on. If he does we are golden. If he can’t then i kind of think Sirianni’s job is in jeopardy and hurts so is

Give me Jacas and Delp with the next two picks, and I'm feeling good with the direction of this draft.

McNeil-Warren is who I want them to pick, but he probably is gone by Picks 40-45.

Id be okay with Pregnon but Allar..... ROFLMAO 🤣

Pregnon at 64 would be a home run. He might be able to beat out Steen right away and is hopefully a high level starting guard by 2027. I wouldn't draft Allar with our last pick, let alone a day two pick. That is just utterly horrendous.

Like those guys but i have a feeling we are moving back (maybe package up from 54) from either 54 or 68. Id be surprised if we stay at both of those picks.

They have earned the benefit of the doubt considering Howie has gone to drafting the best player on his board as opposed to filling a need since the Reagor debacle in 2020 and has been nailing picks left and right not only in round one but on day two as well.

There may be something about EMW that dropped him to round 2. His tape, and size make him an intriguing round 1 guy and had bee projected there for a while. Something going on behind the scenes there.

With that, maybe some team surprises us and takes Kilgore as the next safety. Despite the age, Stukes has a chance to be the next safety. If one of both of those guys go, it can push EMW down to us maybe.

Yea I just don’t like Lemon. But I’d also note that this is considered a pretty decent OT draft and next year isn’t. This is considered a poor wr draft with a ton of mid round depth and next year is considered a historic wr draft in round 1.

So from that standpoint, drafting a wr round 1 this year feels weird.

From everything I’ve seen (reading, limited watching and on here) this is a bad OT draft (good IOL). Granted I haven’t applied my eyeballs this off season as much as I normally do.

Kind of see the eagles try to get nussmeier in this draft. Feels like having him in the building a couple years back and ties to the family that the eagles would know him. Plus i think they’ll spin it with he was highly rated prior to 2025 season.

I don't think you really need to fall that far back from 54 or 68 to pick up a 4th. That would still leave us with a 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Or three 3s if we move back from 68. I get being upset about the lack of day 3 picks at present. I feel the same way. But I also remind myself that we're in the position virtually every year and then Howie makes like 12 trades in the next 48 hours and we have plenty of picks.

Agree. Theyll know him well from his dad working here. Someone is going to get a steal with him. 1st round talent who struggled through a weird injury this season. I hope its us.

Speaking of ties to players who have been in the building, I have felt that Jack Bech will one day be an eagle. I know he was just drafted last year but.... Im always gonna think theres a chance.

Hes in the X mold that we should be looking for too.

I’m really not that upset that they don’t have 2 4th round picks. I always assume Howie is going to somehow get a fourth round pick. And then I also look at the roster, how many fourth round picks can legitimately make the roster? Not make the roster because they’re a fourth round pick but make it and actually contribute this year and next year.

So if I can trade those two 4th and get me a guy who’s going to give me production as a rookie and high production as a rookie I’m gonna do it.

I also kind of think howie would like to get a little more draft capital for 2027. It is a better draft even with getting some compensatory picks I think he would like to have more in that draft. So that if the Eagles need to make a move at the deadline, they can do it without worrying about how many picks we have. Or next free agency they can use some of those draft picks to trade for a player if they find somebody becomes available kind of like what happened with AJ Brown.

I’d love to get trotter’s other kid to keep the family all in Philly. but i don’t see us using a pick high on LB especially with baun, Campbell, trotter jr and mondon

Oddly theyve met with CJ Allen though...

I do think Hurts has the ability to change his game. He has to get comfortable with turning his back to the defense playing under center. The upside is that I think the reads in this offense are fairly simple. I don't think it requires a tremendous pre-snap read of the defense. What concerns me is his ability to throw over the deep middle. I think that shortcoming in his game is related to his height. I also think Sirianni's coaching to avoid turnovers at all costs makes him risk averse to those throws.

I think it was mostly about positional value. Also, Thineman was still available when the Bears picked. The Dolphins went with a CB. I don't think any of the other teams really had a need at safety.

FWIW, I think Lemon's game translates better to the pros then Concepcion.

IMO, Concepcion's upside is pure Deebo Samuel. I realize Deebo is bigger and more physical, but even in his brief all-pro stretch, he was pure gadget and schematic toy.

Lemon still brings that aspect, but he definitely has a little bit more of that Devonta Smith balance and style to him, even if they are very different body types.

Bisontis would be my favorite pick at 54. Doubt he'll be there though. Pregnon is gonna be 25 soon, so no thanks.

from Tommy's draft preview

"Tanner McKee could be on the move if someone makes the right offer.

Then there is this from Adam Schefter.

The Eagles’ wish list of trade candidates goes well beyond Greenard, per sources, though. Roseman almost always has a Plan A, B, C and D, and his team is one to monitor on one of the busiest weekends of the NFL calendar.

Could they make a trade for something other than an edge rusher? Could they go for a veteran safety?

Stay tuned. Howie is always working the phones."

I dont know if Schefter means other edges. Tommy interpreted it to mean other positions.

Brian Thomas would sure be nice and complete the WR corps.

it’s also littered with slow bad WRs the eagles have drafted.

JJAW and Ainias Smith. Fair. Lemon isn’t slow.
