Old fashioned medicine ball drill to develop muscle memory to keep your hands inside and arms not extended.

Not that is matters

Honestly, a pretty embarrassing admission on his part.

Anyone know what happened to @mattwill ?

He hasn't had any activity since January.

No but I figure he is taking some time away during the offseason

I expect that Campbell gets extended just not for the Lb cost. The rest, not so much.

JFC HE, you are over thinking this.

The reason you see someone get a higher future pick (like a future 4th for a current 5th) is because it gives the team who is trading away the pick guaranteed value. You have no idea if a team was absolute dog 💩 one year will have a great season the next year. (See Washington 2023 vs 2024) Therefore the team trading away the pick to a bad team could end up in a worse position if they trade for a future pick in the same round.

So a first is a first is a first, no matter what year. The only difference is the talent available from year to year.

I never understood the argument that a lower round today is better than a higher round in the future. I can see debating the same round, like will the Pats 1st next year be higher than this year due to tougher schedule and likelihood of repeated success. But like, a 1st round pick is always better than a 3rd round pick. And they can only trade picks 3 years out so it's limited in scope (the Browns want to extend that to 5 years).

I always thought a big part of the reasoning was GMs that are on the hot seat and need to show results soon. Howie has the most secure GM job in the league. Plus, he uses picks as capital to trade around as we've seen many times.

When people make trades to move up on draft weekend, it's because they value a specific player they've scouted and want now. But in a deal like AJ Brown to the Pats after June 1st, that is only for future, not about a specific player they want to trade for the right to draft. It's just about draft capital. They may have a rough idea of the draft class, but even Howie said things change with that.

Yeah it's because all LBs are lumped together, so a 5th year option for an ILB would be hyper inflated due to edge rushers being part of the formula. Kinda like the whole Jimmy Graham franchise tag situation years ago. If the Lions picked it up, it would've aromatically made Campbell the highest paid ILB in the league.

@Joe Ball

Funny if true

They were talking about Christian Parker running the philly defense. There was no thought of Downs ending up in philly

You think because you can’t find him on a quick google search and he’s from Nigeria that they don’t know when he was born?

That's exactly what he thinks. Teams have been duped on age before but I don't care if he is 25. If they can make a player out of him for a few years or more, that would be great.

If I was him Id be insulted if a team were selecting me with a selection in the current draft. Id want them to use a much more valuable pick from a draft 2 years down the line to prove Im worth it to them.

Yeah he looked like a really nice player for a brief moment.

I also remember the eagles doing homework on Jackson in that draft class. There may have been some fans of his in here. Hes a small, speedy WR with return experience.

We can dream

I dont believe she had sexual relations with that man. Look at him.

Hotel Transylvania Official Trailer 1

I finally had some time to sit down and do some film review on Cole Payton.

The intangibles really pop out at you. Great open field runner and great vision in the run game. Extremely athletic and elusive in the open field.

I wanted to get the good out of the way and understand that this is a development project.

His footwork leaves a lot to be desired.

  1. His feet are often too far apart. They are outside his shoulder line. This reduces his height in the pocket taking away from his vision and makes it difficult for him to step into his throws.

  2. He lives in a closed stance and often throws from a closed stance. As a lefty, his front foot is across the center line closing off his stance. He doesn't return to neutral or even open his stance. It stays closed 90% of the time. This is prohibitive to follow through and binds a quarterback up when trying to throw over their toe. It's also very bad for the long term health of the knee. Causing a lot of pressure to be put on it consistently because there is no dissipation of the throwing motion via follow through.

His mechanics are a wreck but mainly because of his footwork.

  1. He uses a shortened follow through on deep throws. His overly wide and closed stance don't allow him to step into and through the throw so he short circuits the follow through. He's compensated for it by changing his arm angle to make up for it. Ultimately, it limits his ability to drive a deep ball and adds a layer of failure in having to process the trajectory with his arm.

  2. He's currently an arm thrower. He does generate a certain amount of power with his hips but because of his stance it binds into his body which forces him to complete the throw with arm strength.

  3. There's more but it's all how he has compensated for his footwork. Such as the lower arm level is due to a the closed stance.

Vision:

  1. He does go through progressions but he doesn't "see" the field. This causes him to throw receivers into defenders instead of open.

  2. He often checks his primary and then checks down to his feet.

  3. There is more to vision but it's all related to not truly reading the defense and being in the chess match.

In closing, he needs to spend some time with a QB guru. He's been playing the position for years. It's going to take a lot of hard work to straighten out his footwork and then fix his mechanics. He's had almost a decade of muscle memory doing it wrong. I say wrong, it worked until now because he was able use his legs to bail himself out. This won't work at the NFL level alone. His current ceiling is practice squad and maybe some wildcat variants but I'm not sure that's enough for a roster spot.

Im not familiar with jackson but hey throw him in the mix and see what happens.

Seems they have about a million WRs in camp this year.

Sorry, I don't recall any of this as factual. Hurts was anticipated to be a 3rd round pick in the draft, where Taysom Hill went undrafted. Has there ever been a QB brought in that anyone (other than @HazletonEagle ) thought would create a QB controversy, much less take the starting QB job?

Some evidence to refresh your memory then:

I'll tell you this, I find the board search/spam timer annoying for research, so feel free to do more on your own.

I see a lot of very accurate posts there.
