It makes more sense, especially with how mainstream rock has been diminished. Otherwise they'll be inducting Wheatus and Taylor Swift in 20 years time

I did have a TE in there. Guessing maybe not the one you were hoping for. Koziol did have 94 receptions last year and another 74 this year.

Yeah. Thankfully for them, there are a bunch of UK bands that most of you haven't heard of, that could fit into the barrel scraping (Blur, Manics, The La's, Stereophonics, Inspiral Carpets, Happy Mondays, Prodigy, etc). 8 entries a year is waaay too many

A British band from way back that I loved and saw many times - John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. No band ever had more talent, though not all at the same time.

I know this team wants OT badly, but if Jordyn Tyson gets within range I'm not sure how you can pass on him. He's really good.

Nah, it’s not diminished. The medium has changed. Gone are the days of regurgitated slop being pushed to the radio for the consumer slaves to eat by labels. Now ‘mainstream’ is pushed by the internet and it’s many forms. Music is much for the better not having bands on the radio making the same song because their label told them to.

Just about every region have regionally famous acts and some of the best music comes out of honky tonks, dance halls and beer halls. Love a good band in an intimate setting. But Hall of Fame worthy? (Of course, this Hall has its induction half a continent away from its hall.

Billy Corgan would disagree. He made some waves last month suggesting rock music had been purposely dialled down from the late 90s onwards, ebing replaced by rap and pop.

It depends on what you define as hall of fame - Blur and the Manics have been going since the early 90s. Neither anywhere near massive in the US, but commercially successful in Europe, Japan etc. Joy Division's post punk influence, should have seen them in the Hall of Fame years ago. Billy Idol (new documentary is worth watching) was way more successful than I recalled.

To be fair, the smarter move would be to have a European Chapter and keep the American version more focused to your country.

I don't know about the CIA, but I can see how record executives could calculate that rap and pop as 1 person acts are more profitable and worked with MTV to make that shift.

This feels like a very "blah" draft class where teams will have to get lucky or take time developing them. I'm not expecting to be blown away with who they get. Last year there would have been a good player at 23.
