Tuesday at 08:08 PM2 days Shades of "I didn't do anything!" and "Then why did you run?" Sadly I'd bet the Pats and Vrabel get out with a slap on the wrist at most - Goodell has been burying their ish for 20+ years

She lost credibility as an "insider” which from my viewpoint as an Athletic subscriber was questionable at best. And any sources she previously had will be dryer that west Texas sand.

Either that or you are even dumber than I thought since communication between teammates on the ice and coach and player is massive when it comes to sports, especially in developing young talent like Michkov. You know, Michkov, the guy who does nothing well but sniped a beauty of a goal when the team was down 2-0 tonight and hadn't had a shot in 16 minutes and looked dead in the water. The same guy who blindly threw a pass back into play in OT after he was too slow to gain separation for his breakaway miss? The same turnover that led to a 2-1 winning chance for the other team, that blew it. Nice job watching with one eye opened.

The entire context of what he said sounded like he meant that's one thing that's definitely NOT a fault of theirs, that they do in fact speak directly to players if they have a problem. Because he went on to say that they talk directly to players. Seemed like he was saying they did not use the media under the guise of "sources" to smear a player. Having said that, I normally don't put too much stock in these things and we can interpret and speculate different ways, but it was an opportunity to silence the narrative and praise Hurts. Now, they've done that a lot and even recently Lurie said a lot of glowing things about him at the owners meeting (what was that a couple weeks ago?). It could be that they didn't want to give too much fuel to the article, and it is one week away from the draft and most of the press conference was about that so maybe his mind was just focused on that. And he was already laughing off another AJ trade question so maybe he's tired of those type of questions. And maybe his mind was focused on just the source of the article wasn't any of us type of thing. But he could have used the opportunity to state positives about Hurts and negate the points in the article as well. One thing for me is I'm sick of there always being drama around this team, across different coaching regimes and players. And maybe because when they do make positive statements it doesn't matter, people still have negative articles from anonymous sources anyway so they choose to stay focused on their business and not give attention to the noise. I don't know. But we will have to wait until after certain actions and decisions are made. We all expect AJ to be traded after June 1st, we'll see if any more comments or details come out after that. We'll have to see how things go with Hurts in the new offense and coaching, and evaluate comments and clips from training camp and preseason to get a sense of where things are going.
Tuesday at 08:24 PM2 days I think Fran was really down on one of the Duke OL, not sure if that was the one.

Pretty good size at 6'5" 310 and had arms just under 33" in what a very harsh measuring standard at the combine. He'd make a lot of sense as a potential 6th man on game day, but with a more "pure" backup on the roster at each position to deal with long term injuries.

Meet our demands if you want AJ or we will formally request the NFL investigate Vrabel for tampering with AJ. Who knows what the NFL will find once they take Vrabel's phone for that investigation. Would probably be in the Patriots best interest to just trade a 1st and 2nd to be done with it then let it drag out into a full fledged league investigation to hang over their season.

I can see why they are poking around him. He's also a bit taller than what they have generally had at C being 6'5". Not sure how much that matters though.

Vrabel has to morally answer to his wife, family and anyone in that organization who questions his integrity. That's their call and if they decide to fire him because of it (which they won't after the season they just had), then he'll have to deal with that. Russini violated a journalistic code to obtain information and if The Athletic wants to move on from her for that, they are more than justified in doing so.
