I know you're special, but no organization would renegotiate a contract after one year. It would completely destroy any ability to construct and predict a roster.

Acting like TO was the good guy is hysterical.

Eagles just did exactly that with Barkley.

This might get ugly for Aj Brown. This story really only came to light because of him wanting out and being traded. I’m guessing if it’s true (who knows) that he definitely doesn’t want this out there. I’m sure his family and wife definitely don’t want to see it, hear it or deal with it.

Except they didn't. They extended him, and guaranteed his 2026 after 1 year of a 3 year deal. They didn't massively increase his 2025 or 2026 pay. Owens wanted a massive raise in 2005 because his salary dropped in year 2 of a 7 year deal since he had gotten a singing bonus in 2004.

Knowing things is kinda important.

I'm sure Mannion is bright. OC wasn't the biggest problem with the offense last season though. OL wasn't healthy, they didn't execute well enough, and the QB isn't what he used to be. Mannion could be the brightest offensive mind in NFL history, he can help, but he alone won't make a bad offense good. In one offseason no less.

I don't agree, I think they like McKee(or he'd be already traded) and he's firmly #2 as long as he's here. I think this is prepping for a potential McKee trade.

Not saying they don't like him, but am saying he is in a competition for #2 and isn't starting QB material.

So, in other words, he signed a new contract that gave him more money than the original contract after one season?

Can the Rams fit him under the cap?

Hopefully not

After all the drama, this guy is a breath of fresh air

It's amazing we got him and Cooper in the same year. I'm happy with how he is but if Mitchell somehow starts getting picks then his career will skyrocket

You are referring to @vikas83 , obviously.

The pressure is now on Howie to find the next AJ if the WR by committee ends up not being adequate(spoiler: it won't be adequate).

The good news is WRs always end up being available. Either for contractual reasons, for diva reasons, for "I can't win here, trade me to a winning team" reasons, teams blowing it up to rebuild reasons.

Some guys who could be available over the next year:

Top tier:

Puka Nacua - bit off more than he could chew

Garrett Wilson - Jets suck, seem to have a boner for accumulating picks

Tee Higgins - keeping him and Chase will be difficult long-term with their contracts

Ja'Marr Chase - less likely than Higgins, but their owner is a cheap ass and maybe he decides the one he wants to keep is the cheaper one

Justin Jefferson - least likely of the names so far, but the NFC North is really good, the Vikings are far and away the weakest team. If the Vikings continue to suck and badly need a QB, they may decide to cash out on JJ and use the picks to rebuild that thing and find a QB.

Next tier:

Marvin Harrison Jr - just hasn't been as good as advertised in college

Brian Thomas Jr - rumors have already been circling, if the Jags aren't as good this season or he gets off to a slow start, expect these talks to get serious

Jerry Jeudy - why not? Browns rebuilding

Don't need two number 1 receivers in an offense. Have one number 1 and guys who can slot into each role after. I'll take Smith, Wicks, Lemon, H. Brown and Moore/Cooper/Wilson over the group we had last year. Won't be missing Dotson and such. Can add Stowers to the mix as well to the group. Have more speed, youth and athleticism. And a better OC to put them in the right spots. Also, expect Barkley & Goedert to be more involved as well. Add in a more rested OL. This passing offense should be much much better. And Jalen not having to look over his shoulder to try to appease the diva is really icing on the cake. By 2nd half of the season this offense takes off.

Yeah, but TO handled it poorly. He essentially threw a tantrum and acted out when he wasn't rewarded. I also think had they actually won the SB, he more than likely would've received a restructure/raise, but since the team fell short, they decided to get rid of him.

He was an a-hole and extraordinarily dramatic.for sure. But if you recall he came back from a terrible broken ankle to not only play but was the best Eagle on the field by far in the SB.
