I was reviewing this in my head today

QB room: awesome

WR room: awesome

RB room: strong

TE room: awesome

Oline room: strong

CB room: awesome

DT room: awesome

LB room: deep even after losing Dean, and awesome if Campbell improves even a little bit

S room: complicated but not awesome

DE room: I’m content with Greenard as our #1 and Hunt + Smith + maybe BG rotating around. But If we get sweat and we have a 1A and a 1B, this goes straight to awesome. Hunt and Smith as the B team is about as good as any rotation on earth.

This would be sick, and we have some capital now to play around with. Don’t forget, Sweat was our DE1 when we won the SB, and he just had 12 sacks. He knows Fangio’s system

Why is the WR room awesome?

It’s not an agenda if it’s evidence based. They changed several key players, the QB was in his second year and Ben Johnson does a lot of things other than play calling. He sets the culture, practice habits, who starts who doesn’t, among everything else.

Blaming the offense sucking last year on Patullo is major copium. It’s easier to have hope for this season if you just blame last season on Patullo. If the Eagles offense takes off this season it will have more to do with the OL staying healthier and playing better and Hurts playing better than it would just because they changed the OC. People way overrate play calling, always have.

General idea is if the roster remains largely the same(especially QB) and the head coach remains the same... how many teams can you name off the top of your head that performed drastically better the next season with just an OC change or scheme change?

Lot of OC changes this year around the league. (21, 17 of which will call plays). That’s over half the league. Suggests that maybe GMs, Owners and some HCs would disagree with your assessment.

Oh ok. I'm sure he's really gonna excel in Miami to prove us all wrong and get another OC job very soon then.

It doesn’t. I didn’t say OCs don’t matter. I said Patullo wasn’t the main reason the offense sucked last season. That’s it. He was a reason. One of many. But not the main one. The main one was the players weren’t good enough. If Kellen Moore was the Eagles OC in 2025 I think the offense would have been better but only slightly.

I didn't have as much of a problem with AJ's comments after the Super Bowl (about not personally being satisfied) as much as other fans did. It was framed as he's just a competitor. But this recent interview he's now saying the pressure for the team to win was too much, and when things were going bad people expected them to fix it. No kidding. You are defending champions, yes of course there's going to be a standard. So winning the SB wasn't satisfying, and the pressure to win was too much?

I don't know if any off the field gossip Is remotely true, but what I do find believable is that Hurts did not like his attitude because Hurts always cares about team wins over individual stats. I could see if AJ thought that his friend would support him and want to force the ball to him or at least defend his comments, but if Hurts was holding him accountable to put the team first and not care about individual stats, I could see that being a factor.

The game that AJ had his best stat sheet this year he posted "using me but not using me" afterward. I'd be curious if Hurts talked to him about that kind of thing and AJ just didn't like it.

It also could make sense in that context if AJ were one of the sources that has been criticizing Hurts to reporters.

The more AJ Brown speaks, the more stuff comes out, the more of a fraud this guy really is is coming to light. The small minority of "Eagles fans" out there who continue to defend him and go down with the ship and live in denial are also frauds. I am so happy today that he is gone but istening to what he has had to say since the trade and listening to the vocal minority cuck to him makes me want to Fing puke. When I look back on his time as an Eagle the only thing I see is a mercenary who helped us win a SB and despite what he said never cared about the team, fans, etc, only about himself. F him, good riddance, and F his cuck fans.

Rooting against the Patriots even more than before, will be kinda fun. Almost like rooting against the Cowboys. Done with a lot of vitriol and wishing their demise at all costs. I see this marriage being quite the rocky one. Pats fans will be yelling at management for this clunker trade before it's all over. They may actually miss Stefon Diggs.

I couldn’t care less about a player’s "morals”. Most of them are probably not great people worth associating with.

Hell, we all cheered on Vick when he put the Eagles jersey on.

According to Easton Butler Sweat wants the packers but talks aren't going anywhere with them. Philly is his #2.

I am not sure why someone would prefer to go to Green Bay with their weather, and their QB.

That's revisionist history. Most Eagles fans were pissed at management for signing Vick. Most agreed he should get a second chance ...but wanted it to be with some other team. Vick won fans over with honest contrition first ... and his play on the field after.

He obviously wasn’t in the old Blog for that discussion. We lost a few very good posters for a while. Those discussions were tense and probably one of the more fractious in the long history of the blog.

@just relax

Can’t say I have seen much of John Ojukwu. He was a Titan and given my extreme dislike of the Adams family for moving the Oilers and how bad the Titans have been of late, I didn’t see him play the little he did there. In college, he played at Boise State and that field is so hard to watch games on. Have you seen any film of him. Lined up at second string tackle in both OTAs. (It’s spring OTAs and with Lane, Fred and Pierce out, I don’t think this means much but Ojukwu is a "vet” at this point).

Hope you saw what Mailata said about Bell. Says he treats everything like a vet. Sounds fully absorbed.

Mailata on the rookie Bell: "He’s a big fella. Kel’s a big fella, man. I don’t know where we found him. They said they found him out of Miami University (University of Miami). That’s a lie. He’s not of this planet. He’s a big fella. He’s doing very well. He has that pro attitude, even in off-the-field stuff, in the classroom, but also the gym. Just the way he goes about his business. He attacks everything. Doesn’t take anything personal. For a rookie, he has a very professional attitude. It’s like a veteran so far.”

I do like that Williams (who is only 22) got both the second and third team reps at RT. I wonder if they are cross training him. (Hint to Beats, who we know read the Blog, report on that some. The youthful depth on the OL is so important to this team. Much rather read that than the plethora of writing on how big Uar is).
