June 9Jun 9 I believe Dalton is here to help implement the Shanahan offense and be a mentor in that way. Dalton has experience with the Shanahan tree which was used by former Panthers offensive coordinator Dave Canales. So very familar with the scheme and use of play-action, under-center formations, and pre-snap motion. Will be like having another coach on sidelines. So the other guys can get a firsthand look of him running it and sound off any questions to him. He eventually is QB3. No doubt. Don't think McKee trade value is high enough right now. Mind as well keep him and maybe he builds up trade value by trade deadline by being in this system this year and filling in if Hurts gets injured. And if not, could bring back at least a 4th rounder in a compensatory pick with so many QB starved teams in the league anyway.
June 9Jun 9 Been saying this all offseason. I'm not giving Jalen Carter an extension (unless it's a nice hometown discount). Don't repeat the Jurgens episode of last year. One, gotta see if he's fully healthy and two, if he's mentally engaged amd committed here before giving him boucoup bucks. Also, once you give him the hefty contract, the Ojomo lever is now locked and he's gone.
