Your are clowning people while you give all of your clown takes. Ironic. 🤔

I think you're taking it a little too serious

It’s spring but hmmm

Writing was on the wall in the offseason and I think it’s the smart play. They want Carter II to take this job and Epps is the insurance if he doesn’t.

Last year, they wanted Ringo to take the outside job and Jackson was here for insurance.

So apart from that one tweet about Dickerson, have we heard much about his health and Jurgens? There's a lot riding on those 2 being healthy.

Where's Drew Kendall?

Love that it was Hunt

Hunt leading the team in INTs last season was pretty wild.

Been saying this all offseason. I'm not giving Jalen Carter an extension (unless it's a nice hometown discount). Don't repeat the Jurgens episode of last year. One, gotta see if he's fully healthy and two, if he's mentally engaged amd committed here before giving him boucoup bucks. Also, once you give him the hefty contract, the Ojomo lever is now locked and he's gone.

I feel like Howie always finds a way to get it done, but if extending Carter means sacrificing one of Quinyon or DeJean, I don’t think I’m in for that.

Imagine we will have to wait for the articles to see if mentioned. Note several Beats don’t tweet during practice.

Think the safety position is Howie's cryptonite this offseason. The position quietly hurt them by playoff time and it became more evident against a playoff team like the 49ers. I know Fangio is great at masking weaknesses, but gotta bunch of 2's and 3's and question marks. Hope he doesn't outsmart himself in what has been an amazing offseason for him. Counting too much on unknowns. This has a chance to be an ELITE DEFENSE. Need to finish the job there and grab a #1 in a trade. Would take Delpit gladly.

It doesn't - they can extend all 3. Expect Carter's deal to be done before camp.

I think that Howie has been planning on extending Davis (done), Carter, Mitchell and DeJean with his long-term plan. He's probably mapped out different scenarios to make that work.

I think Q and DeJean are locks to be extended. I think Carter is for the most part, but with an asterisk that they're watching his attitude and how much can they manage and put up with. It's not that bad, but the spitting thing and sideline stuff, they have to be sure. Then the shoulder issue from last year. Players have injuries, that happens. But they used the 5th year option so now they can see how this season goes to buy some more evaluation time. I think it's due diligence, and if they're satisfied they will extend him. I don't see him being traded, but if some team makes an offer that is so good Howie can't refuse, he knows he can draft DTs successfully as he has in the past.

Not sure we will know too much here. Those injections take up to 6 months to work and were taken in March. I am just hoping they are in better shape than last year. Especially Dickerson. Needs to cut back on drinking 6 packs in practice and drop some weight.

Yep. I think the core is Davis, Carter, Mitchell and DeJean. Ojomo more than likely walks after this year. One of Hunt or Smith will be added to that core. Everyone else is debatable and a lot depends on this year (specifically for Mukuba and Campbell).

I don't think the Eagles plan on paying the defense as heavily as they did the offense the last 3-4 years and instead have it more balanced unless they have to overhaul the offense almost entirely

Any big name DTs expected to get a big contract this year that Howie would want to get ahead of? He always seemed like he wanted to get contracts done before the market changes from some mega contract

I think it will be Hunt, and Smith will walk like Nakobe Dean did. I like Nolan but he just isn't as worth it, injury and hasn't lived up to 1st round selection as much as we'd like. Hunt as a 3rd rounder has outperformed him at this point. But, future at Edge is still a concern after this year. Greenard and Hunt is solid enough, but they need to add another playmaker there. That could be a target in next years' draft if there's not a free agent they like.

Good thinking Howie

If I had to guess Carter and his camp want to have him, at least be the highest paid DT in the NFL. That currently is Chris Jones at $32M per year. But then you have Parsons paid at another tier as highest paid defensive lineman & defensive player in the entire league making $46.5M per year. Something tells me this guy wants at minimum $35M per year right now. Perhaps more. Or he just gambles on himself like Jordan Davis did last year and gets paid HUUUGE MONEY next offseason while contracts shoot up even more. If you are Howie I am having a hard time paying Carter more than $35M after last year. And would prefer to pay him just over $32M to give him that title as highest paid DT. There could be some hardball being played right now with Rosenhaus.

So you have Milton Williams who gambled on himself and won. Jordan Davis. Same. Jalen Phillips. Same. Carter. TBD. Not seeing any hometown discounts being given on early signings lately.

Quinnen Williams but the Cowboys probably drag their feet doing it. Devonte Wyatt wouldn't get a monster contract but he would pick up the floor of the market.

If the Eagles wait to next season, I think Ojomo is going to surprise a lot of people with how much he gets on the open market. He'll be the next Milton Williams

One quote sounds like if the eagles go on a run that he could retire after the season.
