The same fan base that throws a hissy fit and gets their panties in a bunch of you say he's not a top 3 QB people all over have a meltdown. Not true, it honestly is close to a split in the Philly area. I actually think more on the side that he needs to move on.

But those guys were considered the best QB prospects of a generation, and they backed it up as NFLers. The one guy who does come in to the conversation if you are ignoring the NFL career is Luck because he was such a good QB and also had the athleticism. But the premise really does fail to set up any surprise names. The guys who became the best of the best were already projected to be that in college. You cant really sneak some uber athlete like Vick in to the mix. And when you go back to some elite offenses like say Leinart with USC... he still wasnt considered in the Peyton/Elway conversation even during his awesome college days.

Really hope that when we move on, whether it’s sooner or later, we can get a haul for him before he reaches the cliff. Because then it will be really ugly.I was mulling over this comparison last week but noted 3 major differences: Wilson had a plus arm, he was a college baseball player like Kyler Murray, and I think the Yankees actually held his MLB rights Wilson was far more adept at avoiding contact and injuries where Hurts tends to get dinged up to some extent Hurts is much better above the neck, regarded as a very hard worker, where it seemed like even Wilson's Seahawks teammates didn't like him I think Wilson was useful until age 32, when Carroll and Schneider could see he was a better asset leaving than staying. I'm quite pessimistic about what Hurts' game will look like by age 30, tbh. I really prefer he not get another contract in Philly.

Im not sure he was going to drop off a cliff without that. There was absolutely nothing to his game except run around and chuck it down field to WRs who always made the play for him. He finally lost the ability to chuck the ball because of his finger.

Caring comes out sideways sometimes... but apathy means the money isn't there, their contracts shrink and they get less money to put up with the grief and criticism. Many fans don't seem to see the other fanbases criticize their QB so they think we're the only ones. Go on reddit or any social media platform and see the complaints. Go to a bar on gamedays when Eagles aren't on and you'll see we're not the only ones

June 18Jun 18 3 hours ago, NOTW said:Are there any fan bases that hate their starting QB as much as Philly? It's a myth. According to a recent Quinnipiac Poll, 83% strongly defend Hurts. 7% want him replaced. While 10% are neutral. Probably aligns with about that same ratio in here for members. It's overexaggerated in here because there are the same 5-10 posters screaming hate at the top of their lungs seeking grand attention in here. They are worse DIVAS than Arthur Juan Brown. Most fans in this forum support Jalen Hurts as starter. Willing to bet on that. Nowhere near a 50% disapproval rate.

The speed often let them break a long run most games but in between the glitz and glamor of those few plays, it was 1 yard, 2 yards, loss of yards, 2 yards..., loss of yards...An example of a really awesome RB saddled by poor OL play was Stephen Jackson with the Rams. He was more reliable. He probably only ran for like 3 yards most kf the time but it was 3 yards, 3 yards, 4 yards, 3 yards, 3 yards...He was consistent and reliable and created tough yardage when It wasn't there.Barkley takes many more losses and does not run heard to create tough yardage.Hes a special athlete who can do special things...when given space. But he needs an ideal set of circumstances. Hes not great on his own. Hes barely even good on his own. Jackson was still good, on his own.Ok but if that's the case and he's only special "with help", how do you explain them having the same number of yards per carry despite Westbrook having way fewer attempts and yards, and I'd argue a better OL for most of his career (2024 aside)? How does that jive for you?

June 18Jun 18 Maybe Jerry relents this year and follows suit for the football season...we can only hope.

One of the more frustrating parts of the offense since he took over, he uses his legs to escape the picket but the play is basically dead because no one knows what to do. Luckily he's stopped running out of bounds behind the LOS and now will throw the ball away

The 83% doesn't mean they all love him, a good portion of the fanbase should be able to admit he's been good enough (obviously, we've been to 2 super bowls), but there's probably also a portion that thinks he might not be good enough much longer. If I took that poll, I would be in the 83%. However, this season is a big indicator IMO of if he should go or stay. Another big contract means less money to maintain the super team around him, as another poster mentioned it kay he easier to just keep finding cheap QBs who are good enough and maintaining a super team that we can plug and play those QBs into every few years.
