Hurts is firmly 12-15, he's an average QB who is capable of elevating his game. His best 3 games are the two super bowls and the NFCCG against Washington. However, he's also played horribly in 3 first round exits.

These days, no one is game planning for him like they were in 2022, his legs are shot and his arm is average.

Love the Zegras deal. Reasonable AAV and great term at 4 years. If he gets better and deserves more $$ great for the Flyers. If he plateaus or digresses they aren't locked for 6-8 years.

SB wins isn't the only argument various media made for ranking him higher than #17 in reaction to the poll, but ok.

Compare Dilfer & Johnsons stats/contribution in their SB wins. They didn't win MVP. Hurts would have been MVP in his first SB had they won.

Did either of them ever come in 2nd in season MVP voting?

He's not a top passer. But he doesn't deserve as low as #17.

All joking aside, you can't park the bus against good teams and hope it works for over 30 mins at that level. Terrible tactics from Tuchel and they got what they deserved from playing scared - they replaced Southgate so last night didn't happen again... TBF., I thought they'd go out in the Quarter Finals due to the squad choices and likely playing Brazil, so they did better than I thought

I'd be fine with him at 10-12 solely based on the fact that he is not a typical QB. He's not asked to throw a ton, and the one season he did throw more than usual we had an awful defense. So his numbers weren't particularly stellar because it seemed like every week the offense was carrying the defense on their backs. Then they just broke and never recovered.

It will be interesting to see him in this new system, because I believe the scheme should be better/more creative, and we have a solid defense, so this could be the first season that he breaks 4k passing yards.

Hopefully he works out. Would be amazing if he could continue his growth and turn into a 1c but he's gotta get better at faceoffs.

So there is another aspect to Nick that can’t be ignored. Put on the tape from Hurts at Oklahoma and tell me he can’t throw over the middle. Sure did with Lamb. But Nick is so allergic to interceptions that I believe that the lack of middle targets is as much him as Hurts. Note how he reacts to fumbles by sitting the player that fumbled. Calcaterra and to a degree Goedert should have been the tools in middle but both have a tendency towards high bobbles. Plus the Eagles have lacked a good route runner with hands that could attack the middle. Solution, try to teach Ainias Smith routes (failed) and Johnny Wilson not to drop (work in progress). It’s not a fluke that Cooper made the team last year. Great hands and good route running. So they drafted Stowers (good hands and runs routes like a WR) and Lemon (great hands, really tight routes). That also explains on the hitches last year. Notice they have ankle breakers in Smith, speed and quickness in Brown (interesting some Beat noted he doesn’t have a lot of speed -deep- catches, because he is not just fast but also quick), Wicks and probably in Lemon. (With all respect to E45, covering a speed receiver that isn’t quick in change of direction and without multiple gears -change of speed- is much easier that covering quick). I don’t expect the Eagles will throw a bunch over the middle because short middle is the most dangerous throw in football (batted balls, minimum of four in close coverage. Nick’s right about that. But they may finally have some weapons that can open up the middle a bit. (Vic is ahead of that in Baun/Campbell/Trot2 with OLBs that can cover in Greenard, Hunt and maybe Smith coupled with three players that can play both Nickel and Safety in Coop, Mukuba and Carter).

Sorry about the game. Thought they had it. Tough way to lose. And hard to support Argentina when they play so dirty. Spain plays very good defense but largely clean. There were a lot of fouls yesterday and many on purpose. We are big Premier League fans too so will be watching.

They lost when they took Gordon out. They were only up 1-0 at that point and that sub meant they were going into a shell. What England di dwas the equivalent of an NFL team up 14-0 in the middle of the third quarter and just running the ball up the middle the rest of the game.

Argentina rely on the constant fouling in big games and did it yesterday to players they thought they could intimidate and to break the flow up. They want a niggle battle. I think Spain are a step up from England and the Argies will struggle with a team that won't endlessly pass backwards and sideways. And I do wonder if they won their final last night and had their silly little political celebration.

It was. My text groups were going nuts about how needlessly negative it was. Gordon going left no release valve in an area of weakness for them, and we then hamstrung an attacking player in Bellingham too. It's almost a sackable mess up. But I don't think England would beat Spain anyway.
