His legs are not shot. He was effective as a runner in 2024. He just didn't run the ball in 2025. Part of that is on him but there were also bigger issues on the oline and with the scheme.

I wouldn't say shot but he did look slower running. That could be just more hesitation for fear of getting injured or fumbling. Who knows

If the team is winning, but the QB is only passing for 150 yards, do you call up a bunch of pass plays to juice the QB stats or run the ball and salt the clock to prevent a comeback? The stats will show trends but they don't tell they full story. In 2024, should they have benched Saquon at any point to pad Hurts air yards?

In statistics, there is a term called regression to the mean. Basically it means if you flip a coin you will get 50% heads and 50% tails roughly. You may get a string of heads or a string of tails but eventually it will regress to the mean at 50%. Applying this to Hurts. Say 70% of the time he can put the team on his shoulders and win the game. In a 17 game season, that would be about 12 wins. Well, what if you can cut the number of games where you must rely solely on him to 10? Then you're win total jumps to 14 wins.

The easiest way to shift the load off Hurts is with a strong running game, a good defense and a creative offense. Which is exactly how the Eagles are built. (Mannion assumptions included)

Here's a stat for you. Only 1 QB has led the league in game winning drives and won the Super Bowl since 2000. It was Eli Manning during the 2011 season.

A yellow is automatic when trying stop a break and the player is ahead of you. Nothing dirty about it. Think of it as pass interference when a DB is beat.

The Premier League style is very rough. You play England, you have to be ready for it. There’s a comment Jack Reacher makes in almost every book: get your retaliation in first. Argentina just served notice is all. Also, there’s political animus as well between the two countries.

The kids and I watch a lot of soccer (our team is Arsenal) so are well-acquainted with the PL. Have no issues with it. Argentina's (and others') style is different and not our favorite and so will be rooting for Spain on Sunday.

That’s fair. I thought it ironic that Spain beat France on Bastille Day. A good win. They were the better team that day. I have to say England deserved to lose yesterday. Their manager should be taken out and flogged. I don’t know who I’ll be rooting for on Sunday.

If his legs aren't shot, his lateral speed is atrocious and that's the majority of how he was trying to scramble last year. So he's severely limited as a runner regardless, he's getting chased down by 300 lb DTs when he tries to move laterally

His lateral speed has always been meh. He can make some moves in space but he's always been a straightahead runner.

In one of the first games, Hurts was running on the right and rather than go out of bounds, he took a shot at the sidelines. Frankly, I thought he was concussed but he stayed in the game. I thought about that shot he took a few seasons ago and got banged up and missed a couple games. I suspect when he got to the sidelines, he got an earful of "protect yourself”. After that, there were less QB runs called.

If Saquon was beat up, Mailata, Dickinson, Jurgens and based on his time missed, Becton from 2024, then not thinking all those Brotherly Shoves did not have a similar impact on Hurts seems a bit silly to me.

Let’s see how all perform with time to recover this offseason.

I do think Nicks fear of no turnovers has hindered Hurts and the offense

There are running QBs that are able to protect themselves better when running. No idea how Allen has lasted as long as he has with no regard of living for the next play. He could end up falling off a cliff when it finally happens

Mina Kines fits that and smart enough to win Celebrity Jeopardy too.

(Also my wife fits that description. Plenty of such women out there).

It's wildly disengeous to compare 1992 to 2025 passing stats.

As a comp:

Aikman was 4th in the NFL in passing yards. Hurts was 16th.

Aikman was 6th in passing yards per game. Hurts was 22nd (!!)

You can also wake up next to her without seeing a train wreck. I thought she was cute until I saw her trying. She goes up a few levels.

He was a passing QB. That's not Hurts even if he can do it at times.
