With Falcons losing an Edge I wonder if there is a trade there for the Eagles to give them an Edge for something the Eagles need.

Lane divorced his first wife and she moved with the first kids to OK. Wonder if this is a bit of rest early given his age and maybe something kid related as school starts soon. Maybe a last chance with them before the season really starts.

Darius Cooper having a good camp. Frankly, it shouldn't be close between him and Wilson. Cooper can actually play and has potential.

Lane doesn't need camp. He also figures to play half the snaps, so whomever the backup RT is better get ALL the work with the 1's in camp.

In theory, the benefit of 12 personnel is the mismatch you force a defense into: if they have 3 LBs on the field, you pass, if 5 DBs, you run and get a 250 pound guy blocking a 200 pound guy.

But Stowers just isn’t useful that way, even with the size advantage. So teams will definitely go with nickel personnel and unless Stowers makes a monumental improvement in his blocking, the only real mismatch you gain is height vs the DB to high point the ball. He’s really just a big slot receiver.

What he needs is time, coaching, and being built up. He wasn't drafted in the second round for what he is right now but for what they think he can become. With his frame he can add 10+ pounds easily, getting up over 250. They'll work on twitching him up and he has good speed when he gets going even now. Consider Jalyx Hunt, who was drafted in the third round, with much muttering in the blog. It took them about a year and a half to build him but now he's a beast. The Eagles have a number of TEs to fill in for the moment and they can spot Stowers; Mundt in particular will get a lot of action as a blocking TE.

Clear that his guts exceed his ball security.
