Meanwhile, 3 put of the 5 years Hurts has made the playoffs have been with a defense outside the top 7 in PPG including 2023 when the defense ranked 30th in that category.

But yeah, go prefer your choke master Dak Prescott.

You can begrudge this all you want but if you polled all 32 GMs in the league, at least 25 would say they’d take Dak over Hurts.

And I’m not insulting Hurts when I say that.

So many GMs in this league are awful. Their opinions mean nothing to me.

Yeah, they are making a mistake and that's coming from someone who's lived abroad for a couple of decades. The novelty of an NFL game overseas once or twice a year is good. Each team only needs to make a trip about once a decade at that rate and suddenly it becomes a real novelty that is kind of fun. Having home openers and loads of games across the world just isn't going to be a positive. Part of the reason people from other countries tune in is to see American culture on display. That goes away in the international games where the atmosphere is not at all the same. I don't think those games do much to raise interest to be honest. One thing that did raise interest was when the NFL had a league in Europe. Several teams drew well and that created a following that spilled over into NFL interest.

I think NFL Europe eventually suffered from not being consistently popular, PS level players and being a cost on the bottom line. Whereas the current format is a revenue gain, hence why its tolerated by teams. The schedule for Europe doesn't work with TC, I'd think too.

I definitely watch international games less now - they are ok but the novelty of the Panthers playing the Jags has worn off for me. I don't watch it on a Sunday evening...

Dak has had a a great stat year followed by a down year for almost all of his career

History says 2026 is going to be a down year

Yep, for the last few years it has gone this way. To be more specific, since 2019 every odd year is good, and every even year has been bad from a stat perspective. What is often missed is his health in those down years. In every even year (‘20, ‘22, & 24) Dak missed games with injury. In those odd years (‘19, ‘21, ‘23, & ‘25) he has thrown for 4400 or more yards each year.

The two biggest knocks on Dak are, one, lack of success in big games, and two, his ability to stay healthy year over year for an entire season.

If things go the way they’ve gone since ’19, Dak will miss at least 4 games this year and have a down year statistically.

Did @Joe Ball lose his fantasy league last year?

Almost looks like he is developing AJ’s late hands.

But first, Jaylen Brown is introduced at 2PM. Later throws out the first pitch at the Phillies game. Probably becomes the 5th starter.

Perhaps, but to continue your comparison, the "problem” with Hunt coming out of college wasn’t his skill set. The projection was simple: add some muscle, and with his movement skills he’d be a unique pass rusher/pass coverage/run defender combination.

I don’t see this same type of projection with Stowers. Adding some muscle will help, but I just don’t think he has the mentality or natural strength to ever be even a mediocre blocker. He truly looks lost to my eye in every way when he attempts to block.

You may be right. I frankly have no idea how his blocking is now, whether it has improved at all. All I’ve seen of him is Vanderbilt clips and Vandy didn’t ask him to block much, perhaps/probably because he didn’t do it well.

He’s due for a redshirt year, I think, although they may use him as a move TE in split zone type plays. Putting him in motion adds momentum for blocking purposes and makes releases easier. He does not appear to have a quick first step.

I think the main thought was marketing far as I could tell so the direct bottom line isn't that important but of course some bean counter in finance will think otherwise. For what it is worth, the German teams averaged over 30k per game in the final year and the London team started well with over 40k the first year (then they took a nose dive).

The Scottish Claymores had a good and loyal following, but London just wasn't interested in it once the novelty wore of. It's possible it would be viable if there were more local players (perhaps 20-22 years old) as a feeder league from the amateur game vs people saying who the hell are John Hightower or Carson Strong this year?

I hate watching important games with other people, especially if they are just there to be there. No ta.

Yeah, too bad the Monarchs didn't last. London always had a pretty good chunk of people following the NFL in any case. That Bears team with Payton, Singletary, and The Refrigerator kind of introduced the game. I've met so many people from that era who know the Fridge and yet don't know who say Troy Aikman was.
