DPOY?

Did he and Vic go out for a Big Daddy meal in celebration?

Not as legendary as LenDale White losing 30 pounds by cutting out Patrón. But still impressive.

Greenard is pec not tricep.

Jon Jones injury might create an opening for crappy Mac McWilliams to make the team. That sucks.

Let’s see how McWilliams does in PS games before condemning him. Vic said positive things about him. Thought he was thinking too much last PS and then we didn’t see him active much. I am wondering if a CB gets moved by Howie, possibly after the PS game. That’s an area where they have a surplus.

So are you just mad at...the entire NFL draft process? Or you just don't want them drafting WRs specifically outside the top 10?

I'm not sure what makes you think i'm mad, i'm explaining my position.

Edit: now i'm annoyed because people are putting words in my mouth, so I can understand if that's what you were seeing

Meh, hope is involved in anything NFL to a point. Even if you trade for a player. You have to hope he doesn't get injured, hope he fits your system, hope he doesn't destroy your locker room etc. The draft is the best way to fill your roster and fill in the rest with f/a or trades. It's a combination.

Exactly my point, I don't understand what was so hard to see about it. How saying "hope isnt a strategy" doesn't kake sense, because yea it is. Especially when it comes to the draft.

Indeed. And dismissing the draft and whatever else as mere hope is nonsense and defeatism. We pay people a lot of money to assess players, their ability, drive, and character. Those guys don't always get it right and then the question becomes, Why? Self-assessment is a big part of the job. Hope has little to do with that.

Absolutely misrepresentation of what I said. Not sure why people keep putting words in my mouth. At no point did I say "don't draft anyone". I said there is hope involved in every draft selection, and there is. The end, that's it. Pay all the people all the money you want you hope they're right because otherwise you're screwed.

Don’t think we will see the starters much in PS. Want to see the back ups anyway. Wonder if Trotter shines and sits early. Hopefully Chance can play. Want to see the Mondon v Chance v Lawson competition. Want to see McWilliams v Ringo v Bennett competition and hopefully Casto-Fields (who supposedly is have a good camp). Need to see Robinson v Hall v Zion v the new guy. Will we even see Bernard? With Greenard sidelined, I wonder if Arnold E sits or plays. I suspect a Jackson was signed for OLB depth in PS games. Would love to see Weru. Wish we could see the late round gambles, James-Newby and Wisneiwski but that sure looks doubtful.

Obviously want to see lots of the back up OL. Good dose of back up WRs. (Too bad Wilson probably won’t play). Hopefully we see ever TE not named Goedert. Wonder if Pierce plays. If not, we’ll get some Shipley and a lot of Steel and Jackson (just signed, probably for PS game depth). No reason to play Bigsby unless he needs to experience tackling before the season. (Some backs need that physicality to prepare for the season).

On STs, hopefully enough kicks to see Underwood.

I think you and I have very different definitions of hope.

I want to see the blocking patterns more than anything. Bell and Lampkin. Would be fun to see Bernard do his impression of Alex Karras in Blazing Saddles.

It is interesting that Lampkin has jumped Hinton and today, Jordan. I am curious to see Williams as I really thought he might jump and hasn’t. Do you think we will see much in patterns or more one on one evaluation type PS snaps. I know I get cautious with OS snaps for DBs because it’s so much mano en mano versus any real schemes.

Guys I want to see in the preseason:

QB: Payton

WR: Cooper, Moore, Wilson

TE: Stowers

OL: Lampkin, Kendall, Bell, Morris, Hinton, Williams

Edge: Weru

DT: Bernard, Robinson

LB: Mondon, Campbell, Trotter

CB: Ringo, McWilliams, Bennett, Castro-Field

S: Wisnewski, Sam

I don't really want to see any of the starters. Really want to see the backup O linemen.

Jake the Make has always been a better nickname than Missy Elliott.

I was just scrolling and you were saying hope isn't a strategy and others were saying all draft picks and even trades and signings are hope, without truly knowing if it will work. I get your point about the WR position. Reid finally did well toward the end of his tenure with Jackson and Maclin, and Avant was a good 3rd WR. Other than Smitty our WR picks have not been good lately. Jordan Matthews was ok. Mack Hollins has done better after leaving. (Many have wondered about our WR coaching and development over the years as well).

They traded up for Lemon so there is a higher expectation on him. Especially when there were other players fans thought would be better picks. So we'll see.

Someone else posted that Howie said "hope isnt a strategy", in response to me saying that they shouldve seen what Cooper had before drafting Lemon at 20. I was saying that the draft is basically all hope so it kinda is a strategy.

I don’t drink often but I tied one on a few days ago and apparently I ordered this t shirt while I was drunk and just go the confirmation email it was shipped 🤦
