EMB Blog: 2026 Camps and Preseason

Hopefully Howie was being honest about Greenard and it isn't one of those situations where when we get closer to the season he's either not ready or does play, is ineffective and they announce he needs surgery.

Pec strains can take him though, mild strains can be 4-8 weeks. Problem is we don't know when he hurt it.

Random thought but I wish they gave them mics. I can barely hear the questions they ask in the PCs

For what it's worth, Elliott's average attempt distance last year was almost three yards longer than the league average. The league average was about 40.5. Elliott was at 43.44 (regular season). The only kickers in the entire league who were kicking further on average were Zane Gonzalez (45.05), Joey Slye (44.06), and Charlie Smyth (45.88). The latter only played about half the season. This excludes kickers who only kicked a few times, like Lucas Havrisik (4 for 4 from 43.5).

So comparing his percentage to others is something that shouldn't be done blindly, without any consideration to other factors.

I would agree that he had an off-year -- his second consecutive one at that -- but overall he was not the "worst" kicker in the league. Throughout his career he's generally been "top half" of the league and I tend to think he'll return to that level.

Don't see that at all. He looks quicker and runs better routes than ward did

Greg Ward was never good against man coverage. He could settle down in a zone and make a catch. Darius Cooper reminds me of AJ Brown without the height. He is able to beat man coverage and runs physically. He has the agility to get open on comeback routes and slants. He's not a burner but fast enough.

Why do you think Devonta can have a hamstring injury, but Lemon gets one and automatically gets blamed for not staying in shape in the offseason?

I think this was in response to my posting of the tweets. I don’t hold the hammy holding back any player in camp. Best to rest tightness than tear a tight hamstring. My only concern with Lemon is if he has a bit of a tear, which the OTA misses and then again at camp could suggest. While both missing time with the new offense is not great, rather early than late in the preseason. That said, Hurts has seven years (two at Alabama, 5 with the Birds) experience with Devonta. Given the timing and risk with some of the slot throws, it’s that timing and familiarity that may slow Lemon’s development. That said, Darius Cooper and possibly Moore may help offset some of the early season limitations we may see from Lemon.

Jon Jones injury might create an opening for crappy Mac McWilliams to make the team. That sucks.

It was really 10 games for Foles. I don't know if anyone thought it was a great season. It was more like a promising start. He was also a 2nd year QB that had just become a starter. He was on a team with a rookie Head Coach that everyone thought was an offensive genius.

plus, it was still more yards per game than Hurts, and more passing TDs, more varied routes, and throws to different areas of the field. so obviously the passing game would have looked noticeably better.

The CB depth still sucks. One surprise non-move for me was to still bring back Jackson even after we signed Woolen. Maybe Jackson didnt want that situation. Would like to think Howie tried.

Now you're on to a whole new subject. Go ahead and talk about weather if you want to so badly. No need to get upset.

I'm not talking about the weather. Learn to read.

I think sometimes the problem around here is that I read too well.

It's that no one here has a worst track record with their takes over the years than you but you're so full of yourself that you unable to realize it.
