that said i actually like wick and his upside. His issue has always been catching the ball. Everything else if you talk to Green Bay fans and you listen to everybody who watched Green Bay film, it’s always about him catching the football. If he can put that together, I think they’re gonna be fine. But if he can’t, that’s when I think they’re gonna have to go out and get a wide receiver.

At safety I think it’s kind of self-explanatory. If Makuba can’t stay healthy (doesn’t make a jump in development) or Epps isn’t good enough they’ll make a move. Epps was solid last year but it is different having to do it for 17 weeks as opposed to just half a season. Carter I just don’t see him as a starter. I think he’s fine as a back up.

My question with Wicks and drops is whether he just straight up has poor ball skills. Seems to be good at "climbing the ladder” - had a big practice highlight there with us and had a couple with the Packers. But like ball tracking, etc. - can he actually develop that? Agholor couldn’t. Doesn’t seem like many do.

The "good” version of Wicks fits this offense hand-in-glove.

Depends on team being good or bad. And if they have a plethora of WRs or a guy they aren’t intending to re-sign. Jags have Washington, Thomas and Meyers. I could see them dealing one especially if one becomes unhappy. Cardinals if Harrison jr doesn’t play well or they view his value as more to trade him could. Been rumors out here in Az he could be dealt.

My best friend is a die hard packers fan, so I’ve talked to him about wicks. A lot of what you said is true. he consistently said he does everything well except catching the ball. And he doesn’t even think it’s all tracking the ball. It’s just concentration and not using his body to catch the ball. He figured they traded him because they were keeping Watson, they just drafted golden and they have Reed. Plus Tucker being back made him even further down on the targets. So they really weren’t going to pay them so they rather have gotten picks for him then just play out the year as their third or fourth wide receiver.

He still thinks he’s gonna wind it being good. He didn’t like to trade. He thought there should’ve been conditions on that trade that if he met that the picks moved up.

My 2 cents:

I think Hurts will thrive in this offense, it just seems a better fit to his skill set. He doesn't have the raw physical talent to dominate in a vanilla offense, but he has the brains and arms to run a more sophisticated scheme. And as long as they don't try to run him horizontally (he's a power back, not a scat back as a runner, better N/S) he'll use his legs to great effect. He's got a great long ball and can zip it into tight windows out to 20 yards, just don't ask him to throw deep outs on a regular basis.

Looking forward to Barkley as a receiver, I think Bigsby might actually be better suited to this blocking scheme as a one cut hit the hole runner, but if you get Barkley on the second level and hit him in motion (not those stupid outlet passes where he stands there and is a target for a defender) he's the most dangerous back in the NFL.

Lemon is going to red shirt this season, maybe go on IR if the hamstring isn't 100%, then not dress for the first 8 games or so. Smith, Wicks, Moore, Cooper, Brown is full house. Wicks and Cooper have an edge with their blocking, the other two bring speed and quickness, so different looks. Wilson has to come on strong to have a chance, but think he can make it to the PS.

People need to be patient with Stowers, he was both highly productive and very raw in college. He's a faster, more explosive athlete than Calcaterra, and has time to fill out. He's never going to be an in-line blocker, and I think Mannion is smart enough not to use him in that fashion (watching Calcaterra try to block a real DE, uggh). He has to be able to block LBs in space, and 240 lb edge rushers, something Ertz never really learned to do. As far as receiving, he needs polishing but has the athleticism to give LBs and Ss fits and win jump balls.

Most of the Eagle high picks sit on the bench the first half of their first season, play some the second half and start their 2nd season.

Howie's philosophy is to fill out the roster before the draft, and not depend on any draft picks their rookie season. Let them work their way up the depth chart.

So Brown, Moore, Wicks added to Cooper and Wilson at WR.

TE adds a real blocking TE to go with Calcaterra and Latu.

Bell, Kendall and Lampkin are looking like a solid bench. Does Fred Johnson have anything left? Keep an eye on Morris, if he steps up in the next two games Howie won't want to lose him. Remember, Steen can probably fill in at LT if needed, so a fourth OT isn't a lock.

Think Howie hopes to get Ojuwku to the PS as his "break glass" OL veteran.

Robinson and Hall probably competing for one spot. Neither is physical enough to fill in at NT, so Young has a spot locked up. Wilson headed to PS.

Not sold on Mondon, Campbell and Lawton have a shot to beat him out. Though Campbell has to win ties since he's less likely to be claimed on waivers at 27.

Howie is probably happier with the backup safeties than the backup CBs, look for him to try and upgrade.

I thought the reasoning was about needing a field stretching threat… but Reagor tested slower and JJ faster which really clarified the picture (you would have thought).

You can cite draft projections all you want. Fact is, the Eagles reached for Reagor because they were desperate for a WR and he never really showed the ability to play on the outside in the NFL. He was a gadget when they needed more. Fast forward to 2026, the Eagles were in a similar spot where they felt like they needed to draft a WR with the pending AJB move. They got a guy who is just "meh”, to me, regardless of his Belitnkoff award. But alas, he’s been projected to be a slot guy and possibly used as a gadget whenever he’s ready to go.

My original point stands. He’s more Reagor than he is JJ.

Meh. Big difference between a rookie and a guy 3 years in the league whose always injured. Even what the Eagles did with Lampkin is considered kinda taboo. If someone else wants to claim him, go for it.

Meh at this point he seems like WR7 on the depth chart at best and hasn't been able to stay healthy. Hopefully they can stash him on the IR and see if they can get him right cause man his size is appealing. But at this point if we lose him to waivers...oh well.

I didn’t even evaluate Lemon extensively because I assumed he’d be off the board in the 10-12 range and the Eagles would be looking at the next tier at WR. Lemon was good value where they picked him. His skillset is along the lines of St. Brown and JSN; have to assume he won’t be nearly as prolific as those two, but I’m confident he can be a volume target in the offense. I thought he had a chance to be a 60 catch, 800-yard WR as a rookie before the hamstring issue — I think if he can get/stay healthy he can be WR2 by the end of the season.

Sirianni always said the pass game was built around AJ, Smith, and Goedert. I’d like to see Mannion (and Hurts) be able to spread the targets around a bit more. Whatever they do, they can’t have the 5-6 consecutive three-and-outs that plagued them last season and lost games.

He is going to make himself either too expensive to retain or make it so the Eagles need to decide between two of Hunt, Quinyon and DeJean.
