There’s a mile wide line between Lemon and Stowers. Lemon has a clearly defined role and has missed almost all of his rookie training camp. That’s a huge deal. DeJean looked awful in a similar situation his rookie year.

Stowers has no position and he sucks right now. Apples to oranges.

They figure they can keep Covey on ice (as he usually goes unclaimed), especially when roster spots are at a premium earlier in the season. They have the option to elevate him on the squad and play it by ear, to see if anyone else steps up. Covey is also 29 years old these days. I think they only keep 5 WRs to start season. And Moore can be added later as vested vet if roster spot is open. Banking on OL having 11 players to start season, with 3 guys iffy of holding up this year.

Would like Sauls or Grupe for PS. But may get picked up by Jets for their 53.

Lebron incoming...

Carson Steele is a roster/ps tweener - he has the right personality, but athletically, nothing special. I'd be surprised if he isn’t signed to the PS and activated as needs be

Eh I think his athleticism is a little underrated. He’s 230 and has enough burst to hit the hole. 40 time sucks, but that’s extremely overrated for RBs.

PS is the only spot for him here though, no need to keep 4

This 2027 draft better better be filled with HoF talent with how much teams are reluctant to trade picks from it.

Love Steele for PS and dont think anyone will snatch him. Steele has past fumbling issues and still learning the FB position. Think he's a tweener, but versatile. Howie is reading the room well with these early cuts.

Hinton released. He was a failed Stoutland project

That is why I said he is a Mannion pick. I believe Mannion pushed Howie to make the pick. Nobody will dictate to Howie who to pick, but Howie wanted to give his new OC the tools he needed. Good bad or indifferent, Howie owns the pick.

Yes but the eagles have a track record of taking the worst wr on the board.

He'd make a team like the Raiders, but this team is kind of stacked on O. If his position was LB or S, his chances of sticking on the 53 would be higher

What could Steele have done to make the team? He must feel like he didn’t even get evaluated for a try out. 😆

Like huh?

The only way he was going to make it was if there were 4 RBs on the 53-man … or if Shipley crapped the bed.

Dolphins need a backup QB
