If Eagles showed interest in him now, will not be surprised if they pursue him in free agency.

Grunkemeyer out of Virginia Tech will likely return for another season at VT but he's been extremely clutch. He led another game winning drive against Clemson in Death Valley. He gave them chances to win in their two losses. One was a chip shot field goal miss and the other the defense couldn't get a stop to end the game.

If we fire Sirianni, I’d think Steichen would be the top choice for HC if the Colts fire him. Good playcaller, would probably bring Stoutland back and work well with him. Has gotten career years out of Hurts and Daniel Jones. Continuity with Hurts if Hurts is still here. Not gonna chase some fad that we don’t have the personnel for.

All of this, yes sir.

Gym Shorts back as the DC as well.

This would be a mistake. He's a good OC not a HC. I'd rather them go with a fresh young mind vs someone who is good for Hurts who won't be here longer than a year or two.

Yup, that's what I'm getting at. The original post was talking about we'd have the Sirianni issue if we hired Flores, but we wouldn't, we'd have (ostensibly) a Vic with more modern ideas who calls plays on D, but yes we'd still need to worry about our OC getting poached every year, but at least the D would be set and wouldn't be dependent on DC. Right now we're lucky that Vic doesn't want to go anywhere, but if he did, we'd have to worry about both sides being poached....right now we just have to worry about one side retiring.

Edit: But as other in here have said, I'd prefer an O minded coach. Steichen would be good, has proven he can get things out of Hurts (if they keep him) and that he can function as part of a good team of coaches and can call plays, but I'd prefer someone more innovative.

It's not really a problem with not having an offensive HC calling plays, as it really is just the instability at the OC position. Also, you can see how Seattle has taken a step back this year with a new OC.

I just don't think it's that wise to let one proven HC go, in order to gamble on a guy that couldn't hack it as a HC elsewhere.

Exactly what I thought about when I saw that last night.

Offense has struggled. Coach can't be happy if it actually does something?

There's a reason why no other respectable coach in the league behaves like this. He's a clown, bro.

Where is the Tanner Brady love today? Best QB and Hurts replacement since Carson Strong. Someone is silent. I'm busting his balls right now. Hijacked the thread with his chronies, with a lot of misinformation regarding their prowesses. Again, always thought he's a decent QB2 in the right system and scenario. Hard to have a sculpture in today's game unless you have a top offensive line. But, I haven't seen much arm talent or accuracy either. And the "cognitive" wonder he is.

I mean those were the first points we've scored in the 1st quarter all year.

Ray was the first coach he hired

he hasn’t hired one since. To me the bigger issue here is that the passing game for 3 1/2 years has not been good. That to me is a bigger indictment on the Eagles. I look at the passing game and say they’re in a passing league and they have been near the bottom of the league in passing over the last three years. Even in 2023 it started going downhill and they couldn’t block blitzes or get themselves into plays to protect themselves against the blitz.

So this has been going on for like 3 1/2 years. The defense stinks right now, but they were actually good the last two years. The defense needs retooling. It’s kind of obvious at multiple positions. Second half against Carolina and last night, I think they just quit. Part of it is I think they have guys banged up like hunt, smith and greenard (perpetually hurt). part of it is I think guys aren’t playing well like DeJean (who knows if he’s hurt or not), woolen, davis. part of it is mentally they checked out.

Defense shouldn’t be checking out and they got paid a good amount of money to play hard every week. However there’s the human nature element. Can say what we want the last two weeks abut the effort, but prior they played hard off for the better part of a year (2025) and a couple of games (minus Chicago prior to this), where the offense has continued to sputter and put even more pressure on them to be great. At some point that dam is going a break and mentally it eventually is draining. I feel like once the losses start accumulating, mentally you have to be tough enough to not fall into the trap of does it really matter how hard I play because the offense is just gonna let us down and then losses really like up adds into this.

That to me is where your mental toughness needs to come in. That’s where your coach needs to have his guys ready to fight and ready to play. Which to me, Nick doesn’t run that defense, but he’s the head coach. If guys are quitting in the face of adversity then what are you as a CEO head coach at that point?

Now this is on the players because they shouldn’t be quitting cause they’re getting paid and some of them real handsomely. But at some point in time, iview human nature being inevitable. When you have gone about 20 games or you’re busting your ass to keep your team in it so that you can win games and the offense continues to find ways to be pathetic. And then the losses really start accumulating, you’re gonna see guys quitting. Whether should or shouldn’t or are they mentally tough in the face of adversity (definitely not mentally tough at least now) that’s a different topic. But I can see why that’s happening now.

It's not Nick's fault, he just trying to give Howie/Lurie the McVay experience they want. 😂

I see coaches get fired up all the time. Hell, McVay acts the same way all the time.

Which is exactly why he shouldn't be acting like he scored the game clinching TD in the super bowl.

Fangio was a DC only in Miami already and nearing retirement. Flores is almost 25 years younger. That's kind of a different situation as far as getting a new HC gig. And I'd argue Miami firing Flores had a lot more to do with a hot young HC candidate becoming available in McDaniels than him pissing off players.

Based off what the reports were from some of the beat writers, Flores was pissing off players just like Josh McDaniels was doing and acting arrogant. As a head coach, it’s not your job to tell a player we should’ve drafted this other guy over you because you suck. Flores job was to maximize the talent he had. Not make belittle players for where they were drafted which wasn’t even in the players control.

Just to point out Josh McDaniels at one point in time was a young coordinator who was kind of a hothead. He also pissed off players annd then finally organization that they didn’t wanna play for him. There are guys who are much better coordinators like Josh McDaniels than they are head coaches.

I hope Flores gets a head coaching job again, so he can prove that he is not that guy. And that he learned from his first time. However, I’m not willing to take that chance. Especially when our passing game has been by far worse over the last 3 years than what the defense has been over the last three years. The defense sucks right now but their passing offense has sucked for three years. I want somebody in there that can fix that as my head coach. We are in a passing league and we can’t pass the ball and finished bottom 1/3 last two years and on pace to be bottom 3 this year.

On the first touchdown 6 minutes into the game for a 2-4 team taking the lead against another 2-4 team?

Cowboys are worldbeaters in Dallas today. You must be laughing hard.

Eh, DAL won a division game against their most hated rival, that's always a reason to be happy as a fan, you could be 0-whatever, but you win that one game, you're going to be happy, even if only for a day. Not that big of a deal really. Most fans keep it in perspective, people know the Eagles are decimated by injury, that doesn't take away from defeating a rival and doesn't mean the fans think they are great, it's one win for a team with a losing record.

On to next week...DAL hasn't beaten ARI in the regular season since Sep of 2017, and have lost 3 of 4 by two scores or more since then.

Both Seattle and the Eagles the past two seasons have set a blueprint that you can win it all with above average QB play along with elite defense and a strong running game. The Eagles could potentially find themselves in a position after this season with a top 6-10 pick. I don’t think there is a sure-fire QB who you would take in that slot, but it’s an elite place to select from blue-chip OL/DL talent. I’d be fine with that knowing that we’re also loaded up in the 2028 draft with four picks in the top 60.

I’d be okay with running it back with Hurts again next season and assessing from there in what to do in 2028.

For a backup QB, he was decent/good last night. Bad misses on the drive to end the half. Pick ended the game, was a good play by Overshown.

He’s way down the list of issues last night. That’s why no one is talking about him. He was fine.

Think you win the division. Don't trust the Giants. Even with that division lead they have. Backup QBs are not terrible. But can't see Skatteboo and Naybors sustaining that offense. Somehow the Cowgirls win this thing. Their offense is looking strong right now. And is talented enough. Giants defense is solid. But nothing amazing.

It was a historic TD…. First of the season in the first quarter… only took 7 games against an awful defense.

Like I get the defense is really bad the last 6 quarters. However, the offense has been pretty bad for like the last 22 games. Even last night they scored 21 against the worst defense in then league. Might be the high we have for the rest of the season.
