Siriannis press conferences are unbearable. He’s so predictable and says the exact same thing each week. He doesn’t know how to fix it which is obvious. Saying he/we have to be better is not fooling anyone because we know that they simply can’t do it. If they could it would have been done by now.

Terrible coaching hire have exposed him for the fraud he really is.

What’s he supposed to say?

"Yeah this team sucks. I suck. Our coaches suck. We can’t stop the run or do anything on offense. I bet some joe shmo on the eagles message board could coach and give better press conferences than me…. Also there’s this guy @hputenis who drinks his own pee and has furry parties in his trailer a couple times a month… they’re a good time even though I come home with a new form of the Clap after each visit"

Thoughts 2 days after

  • Stoutland - he gets better by not being there, but he had more talent to work with the than Kuper, who ain't great either. OL last year wasn't great either

  • This team stopped having fun. No energy out there

  • The talent holes are evident -DL bursting with it, S and OL,not

  • The Ds inability to create turnovers is going under the radar. Not good enough

  • Too many soft tissue injuries roster wide

  • The FO dipping into coaching hires too deeply creates dysfunction and its created a situation where the HC is defending a OC and concepts he was forced to hire. Badly

The OL was never this bad in pass protection including the 2nd half of last season when we lost Lane.

Its not no, but there has been a fall of since winning the SB. Stoutland had a great run, but he 3 HOFs in his midst - Peters, Lane and Kelce. Plus healthy Landon and Jurgens. We aren't there now unfortunately. Kuper should be a lot better, but can't hide the drop in talent

I mean he had Daniel Jones playing like an MVP candidate last year before he got hurt. The team wasn't bad the past few years, obviously this year they're tanking and he'll be fired but he did alright given the circumstances. Their defense sucks and his only offensive weapon was Jonathan Taylor.

I'm not banging the table to bring steichen back but he is the only person who ever had Hurts throwing the ball like a legitimate QB

And then he proceeded to lose every single game after Jones got injured. Shane hasn't even made it to the playoffs yet and you want to bring him here?! Some Eagles fans are really silly.

The FO had to dip into the hiring process because the two times sirianni got his choice they produced two of the worst coached offenses the team has seen in years. I don't care what stats someone brings up about 2022, the offense was garbage all year and the way you can tell is that no one has hired Brian Johnson as an OC since.

By this point no respectable OCs will even come here, and I'm curious as to why. The 3 reasons I think that's the case are Sirianni, Hurts, and Howie, in that order. When Sirianni is fired, we'll see much interest they can get from top candidates. If we still can't find anyone, it's either Hurts or Howie. When Hurts is gone after 2027, we'll have our final answer on why coaches don't want to come here one way or the other.

Other than Matt Patricia for Sean Dessai Sirianni has never made any changes when things have gone wrong. He literally has zero clue how to make adjustments both in the micro and macro sense and it's kind of indicative of this entire era of Eagles football where coaching comes down to letting Howie build a great roster fill of talent and telling said talent to line up in a high school offense and just be better than the players in front of them on defense. He is a flat out dope.

Nick is the village idiot. He doesnt know anything about football. After he's gone i don't know who would hire him. He has no knowledge. I see him hiring someone to write his bio then going on the corporate lecture curcuit. Those that can do, do. Those that can't do, talk about it like they can

The sad irony is this season is turning into a hold my awful beer kind of performance.. The FO limited the scope by wanting a shiny toy, not expanding to be what works best for us. It compromised the team on a number of levels. Such is life

Yea a lot of teams tend to lose a lot of games after their starting QBs get hurt. The offenses have not been bad the last few years (not phenomenal either, though last year was top 10), their defense sucks.

He has a history of getting the most out of sub-par to average QBs in Daniel Jones and Hurts, not sure why it's so crazy people want that here. With a better DC maybe they would've had more success

We say they wanted a shiny toy, but they interviewed most major candidates for OC (even non-shanahan offenses) and none of them wanted the job. Mannion was absolutely their last choice because no one would take the job. The FO had to step in like they did after 2022 or else patullo would still be the OC here. Only difference is they somehow convinced Kellen Moore to come here and this season they couldn't convince anyone

I said in the offseason that any coach that would choose to be the OC of this offense, by definition, has poor judgment. Other OC candidates could see that and stayed away. There was no opportunity for success with this group.

That’s both a defense and a critique of Mannion. He completely failed to read and project the situation here. As a result, he’s going to be fired and interviewing for step down jobs in the offseason. That’s why no one else wanted to come here. He thought it was an early promotion and now his career takes a 3+ year detour.

Napoleon said it best

"I'd rather have lucky generals than good ones.”

I can't wait for the stories to come out after Sirianni is fired. Hopefully they do, for such a successful era of football the team has looked like dog crap in 3 out of 5 years and there's always some BS going on.

Daniel Jones was never playing at an MVP level before he got hurt last season. That team was being carried by Taylor and Jones was simply playing better than he typically does.

Your argument only makes sense if you're talking about bringing him in for OC job, but as a HC it makes absolutely zero sense.

I'm SME for a system and IT decided to migrate systems to their preferred system -they claimed to review all options but we all knew where it was leading. The project to migrate was a generationally bad one, the new system didn't fit the business need and we had to live with something that just didn't work. Mgmt just walked away.

Not saying its a like for like, but its the same vibes I'm getting here.

You thought the talent on offense makes the job unappealing?

I still think it's too early to judge Mannion. I saw more passes from Hurts across the middle and getting it out quicker, but then the injuries started piling up. I think Mannion should get another year and learn from this season so he can improve as an OC next year.

Coaches aren't going to say anything satisfying. Reid said "gotta do a better job" for years. Especially in a losing season, what are they supposed to say? If they rant about how much they suck, that's unprofessional and they'd get criticism anyway. Last week some players said they need to give more effort and took accountability, and fans criticized them (so you haven't been giving effort? How do you practice effort?). Landon piled on the self-hate saying how much he sucked and hates losing or whatever he said and fans said he's too emotional. There's no win, no way they can say anything. They're required to do interviews and the reporters ask the same old questions, it's not worth watching/listening to.

No, expecting to stay at the 2024 pinnacle was going to be impossible with Lane's eventual retirement - BUT you can slow the decline in the short-term with good coaching and prevent a bottoming out by developing new players.

Kuper was given perhaps a healthier version of last year's OL and did less with it, and it's probably too early to say how good he is at developing players although his MIN resume isn't quite an endorsement.

That's not entirely true. The overall opinion on someone like Vic Fangio is positive because he knows how to walk the line of telling it like it is without throwing players under the bus. He's also much more open about injuries which is refreshing compared to Nick who won't even answer if a player will practice when the media will see if he is practicing literally 10 minutes later. Vic actually gives good answers that are most of the time, honest. Nick takes it to such an extreme level of protecting his players it comes off as insincere and phony.

Hat tip to Jimmy Kempski. I forgot last year the Eagles scored late and went for 2 up two scores late in the game, which led to Steen fighting basically everyone.

Dan Quinn is so petty he remembered and did the same thing

Meanwhile, in Dallas...

But that's because you like how Vic does it. There are some who don't care for how Vic addresses things either, which is why there's no right/wrong way.
