And Jefferson faced the best corner almost every single game and teams were game planning to take him out as he was their biggest threat. That wasn’t the case with Smith. He always had AJ Brown except his rookie year and this year, who helped him out by being the top wide receiver on the eagles. teams also had to concern themselves with aj brown. Has had Addison and guys who are solid not great/elite like aj was. hard to put up the numbers Justin Jefferson did when teams are game planning to take you out as top guy on the team and you’re facing the top corner a majority of the time.

Can say Smith never got the opportunity play without brown (did rookie and this year), however, Jefferson has never had the opportunity to play alongside somebody like AJ Brown or as good as smith. I can make the case that would maybe open them up to seeing less doubles and less covered shifted to him. I could make an argument he could’ve had even better seasons if he had someone like that across from him as it would make it harder to defend both.

** although in early part of Justin Jefferson‘s career, he played with Adam Thielen. And Adam Thielen wasn’t washed at that point. Also Addison isn’t some scrub. He’s not a top tier or no. 1 wr but he’s also not a bum. Also dealt with hockinson having a better season in 2023 than what goedert had. Even before hockinson got hurt in 2024 hockinson was on pace for a career year.

Also, a time a couple years ago where Justin Jefferson was arguably considered by a lot of people to be the best wide receiver in the NFL. That is never been in the conversation for Smith. There’s been conversations that he is a legit number one wide receiver and have better production if aj didn’t take away some of his. But it was never been a discussion for smith ever being the top wr in the league.

No offense I am guessing most franchisees would take Justin Jefferson over Smith. There’s a reason why he was the offensive player of the year and first team all pro twice. Even if AJ Brown wasn’t here, I’m not sure Devonta Smith is getting those type of accolades. Heck I’m not sure the 4 years that AJ Brown was here if Smith was better than AJ Brown for in 2 of the 4 years. I don’t think aj in his peak was better than Justin jefferson. I’m sorry Jefferson is a better player and I love devonta.

If you’re gonna make the case that Smith had to play with AJ Brown and inferior talent at QB, then why is he not also potentially better than JSN. JSN doesn’t have anybody else really competing for targets besides old deteriorating Cooper kupp and Darnold isn’t great. So he gets forced fed a ton of targets. Yet I think we all would agree JSN is better than Devonta.

If devonta smith was the only target on this team with a competent coaching staff and QB, yea he's producing like Jefferson and JSN. The absolute disrespect for the best player on this offense for years is really astounding lately. You don't think it's disrespectful because you're calling him a WR albeit in the 3rd or 4th tier. What you're really doing is practically calling him a top 30 WR when he's realistically top 5.

It's a damn shame his entire prime was spent in a run first offense with a diva who demanded targets and a QB who doesn't throw with anticipation. No one would be having this conversation.

It's hard to be up/down on any recent draft prospect with the coaching staff we have. Any good that comes from Lemon, Stowers and Bell at this point is 75% skill and effort with 25% coaching.

But seriously, I can't wait to see new position coaches get to work with these guys.......hope that guys like J Campbell and Makuba can step their game up. We have too many question marks heading into 2027 for these draft picks to not be viable starters.

Makuba and Campbell dont suck because of coaching, they suck because theyre not that talented physical or good.

Campbell has zero instincts and when he does get to the ball he gets there with soft intentions.

Makuba weighs like 185 pounds, it was naive to think a 185 pound safety could succeed in the league.

Coaching isnt going to do much for them.

I never really cared for him but he won a Super Bowl and has made the playoffs every year he’s been the coach. He deserves more respect than it seems like he’s getting.

Those accolades only work with Hurts

Right and we’re talking about an OC in Indy who didn’t even call plays, Reich did.

Who cares if he called his own plays. The guy wasn't successful there. It's funny how fans want to cast aside Nick for a guy that failed pretty badly with Indy.

Jeremy Fowler said there is "significant interest" in Moro Ojomo. Mentioned the Jags and Vikings.

Rapsheet says multiple teams are interested in Dickerson.

Other names mentioned are Woolen and Hollwood Brown.

Fowler says there won't be a fire sale.

Trade dickerson for literally anything and I will fly to philly and drive him to the airport myself. I'm so Fing done watching this guy block absolutely no one drive after drive. Thanks for being a warrior in the SB, go F off and make tik tok videos with your wife somewhere else

I'm not sure how the Smith vs JJ started but JJ is definitely better than Smith. That's not disrespectful to Smith. It's just what it is

I don't know why Eagles fans have trouble saying a player on another team is better than ours. They constantly do it with Hurts

I mean he had Daniel Jones playing like an MVP candidate last year before he got hurt. The team wasn't bad the past few years, obviously this year they're tanking and he'll be fired but he did alright given the circumstances. Their defense sucks and his only offensive weapon was Jonathan Taylor.

I'm not banging the table to bring steichen back but he is the only person who ever had Hurts throwing the ball like a legitimate QB

So if we fire Siri what about

David Shaw as HC

Mark Brunell as OC

And if we can’t get Stoutland back find a way to get Hank Honeybuns Fraley as the OL coach/Assistant HC?

If we get a new HC and he wants a new DC does Aaron Glen get fired and need a job ? Would anyone take a shot on Al Harris?

Agree. One guy was on the field winning SB MVP the other shaved his head and watched Vic and KM carry his dumb ass.

It started because smith was put in like the 4th tier of "WR1s" in someone's ranking.

Jefferson is better than Smith based on what we've seen, sure, but we'll never know what Smith could've done in the same situation. That's the point i'm making. Separately, several people in here have said to trade Smith and draft Jeremiah smith . Just absolute disrespect for a dude who would be dominating the NFL on any other team

Oh so you agree the defense carried the offense. I'm glad you've seen the light

I'd rather keep Smith. If we were to get #1 and BPA is Smith then I'd be for drafting him if we couldn't get a haul to trade down. We do have too many needs so if BPA is a WR then draft that

Cute effort but lacking due to reading fundamentals where I said he was on the field winning SB MVP along with KP carrying Nick.

I mean thats a bit harsh.

Dickerson has reach his predicted inevitable end. We should be surprised he lasted this long. There's a reason he dropped to the 2nd round, he had devastating injuries in college.

It was really only a matter of time before he broke down. We saw it end of 2024, 2025 was a disaster and this year hasn't been much better.

Ill always be grateful for him, he was a big part of the superbowl season and won.

He looks done and I wish him nothing but good whatever happens, I cant see anyone trading anything significant for him nor howie trading him as his dead cap hit is pretty big.

On the bright-ish side he looked better last night then he has all year and last year for whatever that's worth...

🤣 I'm done with him as well, but the guy's body fell apart. He toughed it out in that playoff game during the SB run. He needs to go but I do wish him well.

I called him a number one wide receiver and I said there’s tiers to what number one wide receiver. I listed about what 11 wide receivers and it included smith so 12. Which would make him in the top 12 in the league and i didn’t list some in the third tier ahead of him. I put them in the same group but id have him ahead of guys like olave, wilson and watson for sure. But I had them in the same tier. So I would still have him as top 10. I don’t see how that’s disrespectful. Frankly, I think it’s a BS argument by you to claim i made it like he was top 30. I listed 12 WRs. So it really makes no sense what you just said.

Secondly, you wanna make the argument that nationally he is disrespected or overlooked, I would agree with you. Cause there’s plenty of people that probably wouldn’t have him in their top 10 and forget about him. I think he’s a top 10 wide receiver. Roughly 6-10 range. I don’t believe he is better than JSN, Justin Jefferson, Nacua, Ja’Marr Chase, or St Brown. All 5 of those guys have proven to be number one type of wide receivers and an elite level. It’s actually disrespectful downplaying just how great those guys have been. All have been first team all pros at some point. Which is extremely hard to don He has yet to prove he’s been that class. When he wins an offensive player of the year award or gets first team all pro I will put him in that group. Those guys have at least been one first team all pro, won an offensive MVP or have done both. I don’t care who is on or not on their team or circumstances. Ja’Marr Chase has tee Higgins on his team taking targets away and burrow gets hurt a lot and misses time. So his statistics could be even better too if we are playing that game.

Also you act like Justin Jefferson didn’t have Dalvin Cook running the football, Adam Thielen, on that team and hockinson added and taking away targets from him. He didn’t have aj brown but it wasn’t like Minnesota never ran the ball or didn’t have other weapons.

If you are going to make the argument for Devonta smith dealing with a run first type offense and poor Qb play keeping him from being with Chase, jsn and Jefferson and etc then that should be making the case for Drake London. He’s on a run first team that is Bijan eccentric. Even before Bijan they were that. Furthermore has had worse QB play in his career than smith. He’s had mariota, Ridder, broken down cousins, Penix, Tua, cooper rush and heineike. Yet he’s been pretty productive and I’m guessing if they werent run first and he had better Qb play his production would be MUCH better and it would "be a discussion”. I’m guessing you’re not going to make that argument for Drake London.

I love Devonta Smith but it’s OK to admit those guys who are better than him. That’s not disrespectful whatsoever as those guys have done some elite things in this league and some in a HOF type career path. I think your argument is similar what hurts fans do when discussing guys like Josh allen but with top 5 WRs and smith.
