They do not have a long-term QB. And the HC is about to get fired. The chances of getting those pieces back in place while Devonta Smith is still in his prime are vanishingly low.I'm a little worried about whether he'll be able to play a full season or if this is just the beginning of him injured for most games

The guy was rushed back by an incompetent training staff. Until he proves otherwise we don't have to worry.
22 hours ago22 hr To try and change topics - is the Herbert implosion basically Carson Wentz 2.0? That's the only comp I can think of.

21 hours ago21 hr I like Smith, I wouldn’t trade him. I was always worried if he would hold up for a season but he quelled a lot of that doubt through the years taking major shots and bouncing back up. I think it’s just a bad, unlucky year in regards to the injuries. But, I’m not sure he’ll ever be a bonafide #1 WR, specifically in this scheme and on this team. I don’t think he’ll ever be close to the consistent dominance a guy like Jefferson, Chase or JSN are.

I don't think fans need to jump to the worst case based on the medical staff rushing him back. We have enough to worry about.

21 hours ago21 hr This PC is brutal. Jeff Mclane just had to walk Nick Sirianni through an answer because there was like 6 seconds of dead air without Nick saying anything because he didn't know how to answer why 3 people are blocking the same defender.
21 hours ago21 hr They aren't going to make changes, what is the point as this juncture. The losing will benefit them next year so might as well continue down the current road. The only change needs to be to shut Barkley down because they're going to injure him worse. I'll be legit angry if they don't do it because it's negligence at this point. And if Sirianni is too much of a **** to tell him no then it's just more evidence he needs to go.

Trading a first just to then have to use a first to replace a good WR is moving sideways and may actually take the team in the other direction.

Still, can't let another teams failure prevent you from acting
