I thought Lane said the offense isn't going to have them be on an island and it was going to be more help. He sounded excited about that. Has it not been that?

I used to rewatch and isolate this stuff. Now I just notice the pressure pouring in on the first watch and the network replays showing DTs either putting our guards on skates or dancing around them unimpeded.

I was shot down in the offseason when I brought up Smith staying healthy

It was all about removing the toxic diva and that Smith could replace the toxic divas production

😅 Devanta Smith has played 17 games in 3 of his 5 seasons and 16 games in another season (2023). He's been durable as they come, especially for his size. You need to accept that AJ on this team was a bad idea going forward for many many reasons. Let me see, do you really think he will do anything great in New England? I'm sticking with the idea that Howie scammed the Patriots in giving up any kind of 1st rounder, even if it was 20 years from now. Wicks has looked great and does things that AJ can no longer do at WR. Mainly separate....

I've already accepted that they had to move on. I don't really care what he does on another team anymore. I don't wish him ill will like you though. I just think it's fascinating how you like to think removing the toxicity = winning. We're not 3-0 and Smith is injured

Of course, there are other glaring issues. It's a team sport. OL was a major issue and hasn't been resolved yet, due to Eagles stubbornness, that started last year. Playing disabled and compromised guys like LD and CJ. They solved one issue placing Kendall at Center. Now the other shoe has to drop. Everybody and their mom in the city of Philadelphia knows this needs to happen, except the Eagles. WR is likely their deepest spot on the roster right now. Think Wicks can hold the fort. And Cooper comes in and does a nice job as well as Lemon getting more targets. Though, they will miss the clutchness of Devanta, when he is out.

Well .... they're winning more than NE and Smith isn't as badly injured as Brown, so there's that.

The Eagles have been better than league average over the past few years when it comes to injuries; it's just not always going to be that way. They're going to have to be resilient and the next man up has to be up. Wicks and Lemon are going to have to contribute more until Smith comes back. Same with Ertz until Goedert gets back. Hurts is going to have to distribute the ball better.

Ok then. If Eagles win then you can say ITYS 🤷‍♂️

I don't usually pick against the Eagles, and the Rams have their own problems, but this feels like a tough task this Sunday. We'll see how Hurts copes without Brown or Smith this weekend. He's going to need to distribute the ball more instead of trying to do it all himself more.

Bonus -- 8+ catches from the RBs.

This. And I admit I want see how Campbell does in Baun's spot

If the defense can do what they have been paid to do, upfront, with over $300M spent by Howie this offseason, then we have a shot. Too many hurdles to overcome this Week, so I can't in my right mind pick them.

It's just funny because I remember bringing up those variables but you guys always went back to the team being better simply because the toxicity was removed. Just funny to see how now you agree that there's more to it than just removing him

Why? Because Smith is out? Baun who hasn't done much the last few weeks? Situations like that make teams focus. Will it be like the 49ers game a few years ago in December? Maybe. Way too much doom and gloom the past 24 hours though.

Yeah. The team is better without him. This first half of the season was always gonna be challenging. The schedule, the transition with Mannion. Still enough talent here to turn this around. Unless injuries take over and they are starting to mount. A fair evaluation can't even occur til they are healthier. Like to see what this looks like with Goedert and Smith back on offense. A new left guard. A few more weeks of Mannion easing in. On defense, adjustments at LB and safety need to be made. And Coop and Carter need to get right. They are not gonna win anything if their key players aren't right or playing to their standard. Too many reactionary opinions when we've seen this team start slow on many occasions and turn it around. I still like what I'm seeing from Hurts overall. The OL has failed him. That cheap hit changed that game. Could have gone a totally different direction. But would admit, team wasn't ready to play. Expect a more angry performance this week and higher energy.

I'm optimistic this is way closer than people are saying. I don't think the Rams are that good. So it's winnable. They lose it when Missy misses a 44 yarder to remind you he's there.

I suspect Aaron Donald will rarely practice all season. He didnt even travel to their first game because I guess he didnt feel like the long trip...

Hes just collecting game checks.

Donald and Garrett were overhyped. 2 old guys and now they are breaking down. Wow. What a shock!?

Isn't this some interesting crap
