Modernization of training and methods is good an all, but now it’s absurd. These kids are coming into college over coached, with no natural feel for the game. College once upon a time was a place to develop. Now it’s just teams collecting the best athletes they can and hoping they’re better than the other teams athletes.College coaches, especially the "football factory" college coaches have to win soon and consistently or they're gone. Until recently and NIL, they had 3 years, if the QB looked reasonably competent he was gone after 3 years. I imagine it's quicker to teach an 'athlete' to play college QB with lots of running and mediocre passing/'field general' skills than it is to develop the skills that transfer to the NFL but take time to develop.

Urban Meyer popularized the ‘football factory’ system. NIL allowing pay for play to be legal has fully emboldened the boosters and alumni even more. I don’t think it’s going to get any better for the coaches. Transfer portal is a whole other mess too. The kids just don’t get consistency. A lot spend their entire childhood going to every football camp known to man being taught a million different things, where everyone is an ‘expert’. They spend most of the time growing up in a me me me environment instead of a team environment. That’s why I’m pulling for Arch Manning to put it together. Him and the family are saying and doing the right things. He didn’t transfer because he didn’t see the field. He’s going to stay till he graduates and he wants to develop like a college QB ‘should’.
September 10Sep 10 Can you guys keep posting about how your butts hurt bc teams like the Steelers and Seahawks split RB carries, and you get less fantasy football points? Then maybe go back 1-2 years, and tell us who you drafted that year (send your entire roster) that didn’t pan out? I find it super interesting.

They want a QB that has laser accurate passing, picks apart a defense and makes minimal mistakes while throwing for over 4,000 yards and elevating the offense. The league just isn't that way anymore. Some of the other QBs they say they want over Hurts make a lot of mistakes too but have more pass yards. Or they perform well in the regular season but choke in the playoffs. Then guys will pick apart Hurts playoffs and downplay it to just 2 good games. Hurts is a winner. He's a dual threat (the run game was lacking last year though) who has intangibles like leadership and clutch play. The state of college football and QBs coming into the NFL is not giving the type of QBs these fans want. So they're stuck in a decades old mindset of drafting a QB with a top 5 pick and him having success instantly and being a better option than Hurts. But look at the list of QBs taken in the first 3 rounds of the draft since after they drafted Hurts (the 2020 class of course had Burrow, Herbert and Love and Tua as well). A lot of these guys have been benched or moved to other teams as well.2021• Round 1 — Trevor Lawrence• Round 1 — Zach Wilson• Round 1 — Trey Lance• Round 1 — Justin Fields• Round 1 — Mac Jones• Round 2 — Kyle Trask• Round 3 — Kellen Mond• Round 3 — Davis Mills2022• Round 1 — Kenny Pickett• Round 3 — Desmond Ridder• Round 3 — Malik Willis• Round 3 — Matt Corral2023• Round 1 — Bryce Young• Round 1 — C.J. Is there two bigger dbags on one coaching staff than him and Vrabel?McDaniels called a worse game last night than Patullo did all of last season. The Seahawks knew what they were going to do. They were all over the receivers. Maye was under pressure most of the game. I don't think they were caught off guard by a single play. McDaniels had no adjustments. He has a mobile QB and he didn't move the pocket or have some designed QB runs. He didn't even pander to AJ with some designed throws to him. MacDonald was light years ahead of him. Seattle's offense did not look much better but that was with Lock and a new OC.

September 10Sep 10 I love how the Eagles childishly and pettily try to hide so much information that gives them no advantage whatsoever and is used to really stroke egos, and Fangio just comes in and is blunt and revealing and not only doesn't it cost the team at all, his side of the ball is the most effective.

Now we have to change the whole game plan! Genius move Fangio, you win this round."
September 10Sep 10 Don't think Epps holds up for a full slate. Tho I do think he's a slight upgrade from Blankenship, who was awful last year. Makuba better be the real deal or we will feel it back there. Even with great CB play.

Hard to believe McDaniels wouldn't have had a built-in adjustment for what you'd think would be a "revenge game".He probably spent too much time with Vrabel trolling for "available" married chicks with no morals.

We were pretty horrid and tried to blow the game late
