This division stinks, so the Birds sitting at #2 with how awful they've been isn't that bad. They honestly just need to get healthy and maybe they'll be fine. Infuriating loss yesterday though.

We are in the phase where you kinda look right, but then we find out that the exact opposite is true, after that lightning quick knee jerk reaction. Upgrade from Jurgens is not even debatable. Give the kid a couple games. The tape is very encouraging.

Glad you're encouraged. It's been spot on for the offense so far.

That was just a fart.

Question.

I know we/the coaches are probably afraid of Hurts doing to much and throwing an INT... but was anyone else wanting to continue that final drive with a minute left rather than just settling for the long FG?

To me that's the difference of playing not to lose rather than playing to win.

Go finish in the end zone with little time left. If you can't quite make it, kick the close FG then.

I wanted to spike the ball on 1st down to preserve time to continue driving.

The Eagles let 30 seconds tick off just saying ok 56 yard FG is fine.

Had we gone and scored the TD, we can't lose on that last second FG. And even if more than 8 seconds were left, they probably dont drive the field and score a TD in the amount of time that would have been remaining.

Eh...given how short handed we were on offense, I get not wanting to push our luck.

I don't understand your point. The Eagles were the number 1 rushing team in 2021, number 4 in 2022, number 5 in 2023 and number 2 in 2024. What separates the running game from those seasons and 2025 and 2026 is Hurts' use/willingness to be utilitized in the run game. In 2025, the run offense was middling vs. the trash heap dumpster fire where it is now.

I think an OL and Barkley falling off a cliff has hurt the running game more than Hurts running a bit less.

Felt for Howie & Jake there seeing that. Terrifying 8 seconds of football there. That disaster deserves a longer mourning period. I will say, that Sirianni's ability to keep them reigned in and positive will show if he's worth anything the next few weeks. One could say that loss (and the last 2 in tandem) is a season killer to morale and confidence that they may never get over. I think they do.

That doesn't look like "beyond pissed" to me. Looks like regular pissed.

I get that. But it was the one drive we had that actually had momentum. We killed it by taking our time letting time tick and taking away our chance to reach the end zone which really would have put the game away.

I know your counter augment is valid. But I prefer aggressiveness. Siri usually seems to too. He played it safe and still lost. Playing not to lose is often a bad strategy.

Sure, my theory is probably out on a limb. But I doubt this is the first time this season Howie has been that angry, just the first time he's been on the field for it

Looks angry, yes. "Beyond pissed" I don't really see it. Elliott looked angrier throwing his helmet. Just looks like a normal reaction to me.

I really think it's just the line. Yesterday the running attack was awful with different backs. We just are struggling to block for this new scheme (or the scheme sucks...or both).

He is obviously pissed off

I get your point - and if we had Smitty and a somewhat healthy line, I'm all for it. But Jake has also been improved - he seems to have tweaked his setup and approach. I wanted his FG attempt to be the last play.

The middle ground was throw on 1st, then run on 2nd if you got stopped. They didn't do that - incomplete (near INT) on 1st should have scared them into bleeding clock.

I didnt write the tweet, its just one that points out howie specifically

Has Nick been fired yet?

24-28 points per week is ahead. Patience. Even with the offense sucking the last couple weeks Sirianni robbed them of even more points. Overall team health recovery and team defenses we face should help things here going forward. And just being in the system longer with the same players. This first half of season was always gonna be rocky.

No, there was an article where they asked him and Hurts basically said how the F did you come to that BS.

Was a report i believe McLane who basically laid it out. Then there add data form last year showing he did. Hurts can say it’s BS. But McLane usually isn’t coming out with BS unless it’s sourced by multiple people. McLane is a dbag but he usually getting things inside he organization.

BS. He's gone off script and run many times in his career. Saying he has to be put in the position? roll

What horsesh!t. The guy has the ball in his hands every f’n play ffs.

Hurts needs to go.

They also seemed disjointed. Why let all that time tick off between plays and then pass like they still wanted to go?

That whole situation was the big flub to me. Kickoff was just the part everyone else noticed as it made the final impression.

I also think hurrying to spike and running another play quickly preserves the momentum off the drive. Letting the time tick slowed them down, then incomplete pass.... they took away their own momentum before the play and let the defense relax.

We have people playing the semantics game about "beyond pissed" (in a tweet i did not write) and "pissed" (which i said in my post) lmao

If Jake Elliot was mad, one point I think is, do you think David Akers makes a game saving tackle there on the return?
