If Jake Elliot was mad, one point I think is, do you think David Akers makes a game saving tackle there on the return?

Akers was tough. Yes he would.

They also seemed disjointed. Why let all that time tick off between plays and then pass like they still wanted to go?

That whole situation was the big flub to me. Kickoff was just the part everyone else noticed as it made the final impression.

I also think hurrying to spike and running another play quickly keeps the momentum off the drive. Letting the time tick slowed them down, then incomplete pass.... they took away their own momentum before the play and let the defense relax.

The whole thing was disjointed. Was shocked that they passed after letting all the time run down. They had no coherent plan.

That's on the head coach.

We got rid of all the gingers. That didn't work. The only remaining lever to pull is to fire Nick.

It's science.

That’s good right?

If the goal is to keep the offense fresh for when we miss the playoffs, yes.

Since Hurts has decided he’s above accountability, how many teams do you think would call Howie if Hurts was benched?

I still can't wrap my head around 16 carries by RBs for 20 yards. 1.25 yards per carry. That should be impossible.

Was a report i believe McLane who basically laid it out. Then there add data form last year showing he did. Hurts can say it’s BS. But McLane usually isn’t coming out with BS unless it’s sourced by multiple people. McLane is a dbag but he usually getting things inside he organization.

There is a reason Bowen punched him in the face. We can disagree on him, but there is a reason Hurts flat out asked the guy where did you come up with that BS. He's not asking that and saying look I'll do whatever that needs to be done to win if he decided he isn't running as much anymore

Add in what Nick said in response. Add in the two thing Hurts said yesterday and it's clear (unless he is lying) Nick puts restraints on him

Add in the fact Nick was getting his hands into the run game last year to the point Jeff lost his job as RGC. He's got his hands in everything.

Since we are all suicidal, here are some potential reasons for hope:

  1. Wicks, Lemon and Cooper have all started to shine some with Smitty out. Obviously their opportunities will decrease when DeVonta is back, but this is the deepest WR group we have had in a while. And Hurts seems more willing to spread it around. Wicks in particular has been a very pleasant surprise.

  2. Bell isn't a massive liability out there, which is very encouraging for a rookie who was unexpectedly forced into action.

  3. Lampkin and Kendall show promise and are better than Jurgens already (we'll see what Landon looks like if he comes back).

  4. Jalen Carter may finally be able to wreck games, and Davis looked better this week.

  5. Greenard should be back next week.

  6. Seems Vic is ready to bench Campbell and go to Trotter

  7. Carter seems like a vast improvement over Epps

  8. The division is utter trash

  9. You can cut Nick with no negative cap implications

The goal here seems to be to try and stabilize, get some guys back, and win a terrible division. My biggest concern right now is the running game. The defense has played very well the last 2 weeks, and hopefully getting Barkley, Smith, Kendall and maybe Dickerson back will help the offense.

We have people playing the semantics game about "beyond pissed" (in a tweet i did not write) and "pissed" (which i said in my post) lmao

People here have a tendency to respond like you wrote the post. The guy stops and obviously goes FFFFFFFF. But it's important to distinguish if he's pissed, really pissed, or beyond pissed.

I'm not saying you said it bro

I know you didn't. I just think the whole thing is a pretty normal reaction and nothing to read into deeply about. Howie kind of acts like a clown on the sidelines and wears his emotions on his sleeve. His reaction is understandable and I don't think it means much beyond that.

Yeah hurts not going to come out and flat out say it. He’s never going to say "yes I’m running less now and don’t want to run as much”

McLane again is a Dbag. His reporting isn’t bad. He was spot on with wentz, spot on with doug, spot on with the issues with ertz.

Also yet to disprove the numbers showing he’s running less the past 3 years. Like data shows it. It’s not just McLane. Have other showing less want to run.

He used to work with the eagles. It’s not a coincidence he pointed this out

Well, maybe, but what he did all but come out and say yesterday "I do what Nick tells me to do even if I don't agree with it". As for last year that's a response of a guy who's like excuse me where did you come up with that vs PR speak. He said he likes to win and we know that's true. I can't see a guy who wants to win that badly saying no which is what he said yesterday. I'll do what that idiot asks me to do.

His 2022 would’ve been much higher if he played 17. But really the bigger decline is 2024 to 2025 and he played all 16 in 2025 and 15 in 2024. He’s on pace this year for 79 rushing attempts. That’s not by accident. Can say it’s coaching and design runs by OC/sirianni but some of it may just be he doesn’t want to do it as much cause he’s sustained injuries and missed games doing so and he’s older now.

There was one block someone posted on X where Willy and Majors worked together and had a hole but the RB ran behind JM instead. It went from a nice gain to nothing or a loss. People can watch the tape and have an idea what happened, but it looks like they all aren't on the same page. That makes sense when the line hasn't played together in real games yet.

He's too slow to run anymore. I'd rather he learn to process and throw the ball quicker

What he said yesterday is different context than his rushing attempts declining each year or reports he doesn’t want to as much. He’s on pace for 79 rushing attempts this year. Lowest of his entire career coming of last year where he played 16 games and that was his current lowest of his career. I don’t think it’s by accident. His rushing attempts are declining as he’s getting older and the more injuries he has had occurred. Maybe when he got that concussion against Washington it kind of changed the approach to being a runner

I listened to yesterday. Felt like a passive aggressive indirect remark towards coaching. Which i frankly don’t blame him. Their end game time management was awful and it starts with sirianni and even Mannion with play calls

You can't just ignore the fact that they housed one because the refs decided to call a hold.

With all the injuries and Trotters ejection there is just no reason to put the game in the hands of the ST unit instead of the defense.

ST unit did their job. You are relying on something that did not happen. The actual plays that counted towards the outcome of the game, the ST did what they are supposed to do. If Hurts hadn't gone into panic mode and threw it away on second down, and found a way to keep the clock running, we would not be talking about this. If Lemon had situational awareness and stayed inbounds, we would not be talking about this. If the Eagles offense was not averaging 1 point per second half the last 3 weeks, we are not talking about his.

Reflecting yesterday, this one gave me the same sort of feeling as the Tommy Hutton play. The Hutton thing was worse and probably because it was against the Cowboys but this one was pretty bad.

Beating Carolina is an absolute MUST now. Do that and I think the feeling can all go back to positive heading into Dallas week. All is not lost and there are glimmers of hope and a team that so far is still playing hard and has stuck together.

Really think Lampkin is better suited to be a C. Gargano mentioned everyone coming back this week and Dickerson has been rumored. Wonder if Kendall is out and Dickerson actually returns if he plays LG and Lampkin goes to C.
